LOUNGEWEAR THAT YOU CAN ANSWER THE DOOR WEARING

Let’s be honest, how many of you are living in loungewear these days? Loungewear can be leggings, joggers, and soft flowy tops, but it can also be pajamas. Loungewear is casual, and it is meant for laying around the house and relaxing. However, you don’t want your loungewear to be so casual that you would be ashamed to answer the door wearing it.

I get out of bed a lot of mornings and throw a big soft fuzzy robe over my pajamas. I do my morning devotionals, sip on a cup of coffee, and then start answering emails, comments and posting to my social media channels. I get wrapped up in what I am doing, and it can be 1:00 pm before I look up and realize that I need to put on some clothes.

If the UPS or FedEx delivery person comes to the door, I am left in a quandary on whether to answer the door in my PJs and robe or to hide behind the corner and hope that they don’t see me. Lol! Guess which one usually wins out. For the most part, loungewear wasn’t supposed to be worn out in public, but the pandemic has changed all of the rules. Today, we are going to look at athletic wear/loungewear that you can answer to the door wearing and not have to hide behind the corner.

Since Ultimate Gray is a trending color, and since I happen to love wearing gray, it is only natural for me to have loungewear in this color. For me, I want my loungewear to be comfortable, not confining and binding. So, even though my outfit looks like athletic wear, it is not the compression type that makes you feel like your circulation has been cut off.

This is not the top that I ordered to go with the camo leggings. But I’ve worn these leggings several times, and the sweater that I bought was dirty, so I added this comfy one instead. This is a soft top that I bought back in August, and I’ve worn it repeatedly. I love soft and cozy items next to my skin. This sweater is a medium, and you can see that it is still very large and roomy on me. The top has drop shoulders, a crew neck, and a step-down hem for extra coverage for your backside.

If you haven’t heard me say it before, I love these camo crop leggings from J. Crew Factory. I have them in several colors, and they are usually the ones that I reach for the most often. These are my lounging leggings, not my exercise leggings. Joe is not particularly fond of these camo ones, but I like them. I tease him that he doesn’t like them because he can’t find me. Lol! The tonal shades of gray are gorgeous, and I love this color of camo, but “I” am not fond of the green variety. Fashion is all about what “you” like, and what looks best on you.

This blue legging outfit is gorgeous in person. The blue is such a pretty color, and florals are everywhere this spring. Because the top is sleeveless, I usually add a cardigan to my outfit to keep me toasty warm. This circle cardigan by Barefoot Dreamsis almost completely sold out. Barefoot Dreams is on the expensive side, and I have wanted to try a cardigan from them for a while but refused to pay the money. I bought this one during the Nordstrom anniversary sale, and I am so happy with it. Tip of the day… stick aside a few bucks every day and save up for the next big sale on Barefoot Dreams. If you love softness as much as I do, then you will thank me later. I’ll link to similar and more affordable options.

You might have noticed that this blue tank top is waaaay too big on me. Under my arms, it gaps open, and it is so long that you see a lot of bra showing. Hence, the need for my cardigan, other than the fact that it keeps me warm. I am wearing a large in the top, but I should have bought a medium instead. I liked that the material wasn’t clingy, the length, and the twist back detail in the back. The top is available in several other colors, but this blue is very limited.

The Ink Spot pattern looks like flowers to me, and I the only one who sees this? Maybe my Spring fever has me seeing flowers everywhere. Lol! This pair of leggings is more on the athletic side than the camo pair, but they are still comfy. According to the website, these leggings are breathable and have lightweight compression interlock fabric that holds you in while sculpting your shape. They have four-way super stretch for ultimate movement, and Go-Dry moisture-wicking technology keeps you dry & comfortable. I am wearing a large, and these fit me great.

I am wearing a pair of Cloud 9 X training shoes with both outfits. I have found that I like wearing sneakers in the house, and I think it gives me more energy. Plus, I am ready to walk on the treadmill or elliptical if the mood strikes me. These run true to size, and I am wearing my usual size 9.

I usually wear leggings and a tank as my “jammies” since I do NOT like how regular pj’s will often get twisted as I turn over during the night. These outfits are adorable!!! I own that Barefoot Dreams cardigan ( in a different color) and it is so cozy……

  4. You are looking amazing. Love loungewear but don’t have any because when I find something I like it is gone before I know it. Just have to keep looking.

Barefoot Dreams cardigans are what I wear instead of robes because they are so comfy, and like you said, I can answer the door if the need arises. I definitely recommend them when you can find a good sale.
