LOOKING SPORTY AND CASUAL OVER 40 FOR SUMMER

 

When the weather gets hot, I start dressing more casually than usual. I want to feel comfortable in my clothing, and not feel stuffy, so, sporty and casual is my go-to. Today, I am going to show you a chic black and white outfit that fits that criteria, and I’ll give you a few more examples that would work also.

 

First, we’ll talk about this outfit, and then I’ll show you the others at the end of this post. In the summer, you will find me in a lot of t-shirts and shorts. White jeans are also in rotation a lot in the summer, and since I’ve styled them so much lately, I am sure that doesn’t come as a shock for you.

 

 

Pairing the unexpected is something that I love doing. It is like pairing leather and lace together, and the combination is different and exciting. Today, I added a lace inset camisole with my sporty and casual look. This camisole is dressy enough to be worn to work, out to dinner, or to a party, but I chose to wear it in a casual way today.

It is super cute, as well as being versatile, and lightweight. The camisole also comes in a lot of different colors and patterns, including a pretty bubblegum pink version. I am wearing a size large, and I like the way that it fits.

 

 

This chic black and white striped hoodie is casual and stylish. Here in Virginia, the nights are still cool, and I love having something on my arms. You can wear this zipped or open, and it also has a hoodie to keep your ears warm.

 

 

I am wearing a size large, and I love the way that it fits. The website says if you are between sizes, you should order one size down. Normally, I would order a medium in that case, but because I want to be able to layer with the sweater, I stayed with the large.

 

Yes, I know that I’ve been wearing white jeans almost every day for the past week. But, honestly, that is what I wear most of the time. This pair is from Old Navy, and they are high-waisted and have straight legs. I turned up the cuff to give more distance between the sneakers and the jeans so that more leg would show. More leg showing makes you think that my legs are longer.

 

 

I love that these jeans are loose, but not baggy. The loose fit trend is one that I am starting to embrace, but it took me a little time. Joe, however, is still not a fan, and he makes sure to tell me that every time that I wear loose jeans. I ordered my usual size 10 in these jeans, but if you want a tighter fit, then I would size down one size.

 

 

These red sneakers are several years old, and I bought them at a boutique in Acworth, Georgia. They are NOT Chuck Taylors, but they look identical. I bought them because the boutique would embroider initials on the tongue of the shoe, and I couldn’t pass that up. Lol! The funny part, I paid more for these than the Converse ones.
