HOW TO LOOK NICE WHEN YOU’RE IN A HURRY
What is your go-to when you need to go somewhere fast but still look nice? I get up fairly early in the mornings but I do a ton of stuff on the computer before I even start to get ready to go to work. My goal is to go to work by 10:00 or 11:00 and work until 5:00 or 6:00. The other day I was answering emails and messages when I got a text from my son. I glanced at it and it said, “Emersyn is graduating Pre-K at 9:00 am. That meant that I was going to have to be ready to leave the house by 8:30 am. ?
It was 7:30 when he sent me this message. I quickly jumped in the shower to start the process. I don’t know about you but it takes me at least a good hour to get dressed when I have to wash and dry my hair. I made it to the auditorium about 3 minutes before they started walking out. I am telling you that it was so adorable seeing all of these little kids singing their songs. You could see them looking in the stands for their family and a big grin would break out on their faces when they spotted them. Emersyn kept pointing to us in the crowd and smiling broadly. Once they graduated and received their diploma they were also given a medal. When we met her to pick her up she was in tears because her medal had fallen off and all she had was the ribbon. Her teacher and I are friends so I told her what happened and she went back to her classroom and got her another medal. She was so proud and cute that I, of course, wanted a picture with her.
She is my mini-me and we even matched our clothing. Lol! In case you were wondering, blue and gold are the school’s colors.
Since the school’s colors are blue and gold I have a lot of accessories in those colors. I didn’t want to be fancy since it was a Pre-K graduation so I picked “fun” accessories. The Sydney hoop earrings have a hammered gold finish with navy blue fringe. These are wonderful for making a statement but they aren’t HUGE. They have a 3″ drop which strikes me at the bottom of my chin(s). Lol! You can’t get more playful than the Constance necklace. I love all the mixed media in this necklace. You have fabric, gold, and wood all making up this 37″ statement necklace. Finally, I added the Tasha elastic bead bracelet. Plunder actually has several bracelets in this style with lots of colors but I had to have the blue and gold one first. I do plan on getting the other colors because I think it will be cute to layer them. If you are interested in any items from Plunder just go to plunderdesign.com/taniastephens.
I am loving my new cork platform sandals by Tommy Hilfiger. These are perfect for anything! I can wear them with pants, jeans, or shorts and dresses. I love when something is versatile and you get more bang for your buck. Or, if I was proper I would say, “it is a better return on your investment.” ? I do like the looks of these wedges over just a flat pair of sandals. You tell me which you like the best, here or here.
I really appreciate all of the shares and the pins of my outfits that you have been doing. PLEASE continue to do that, you won’t believe the difference it has made in my number of visitors to my blog.

Hi Tania…
Your outfits are gorgeous! Have you ever tried Dressing Your Truth or living your truth? To have a true reflection of your natural energy. Look up Dressing Your Truth. Com. It was a life-changer for me. I always have had great outfits and would get complimented on them. But now I get complimented on me.
You nailed it, Tania! The dress is the answer for the hurry up Dressing. I have found it the coolest solution for the hot humid days of summer too.
Love the way you put your outfit together!
Sure enjoy your blog and your sense of humor. I don’t miss a day and look forward to each and everyone.
I do have a question regarding the platform sandals. Have you every twisted your ankle while wearing them. I’m serious. I’m still leery of that happening since I did do that once many, many years ago, when they were in style, then. Guess I’m just not the graceful type! As I recall it was only a small pebble in a parking lot & down I went. I was probably yacking away with someone and not watching where I was going. Real sure it wasn’t a cocktail or two. LOL Just curious if any others have had this happen with platform sandals. Thanks.
Lol! Susan, I do know what you mean. I worry about that too. I have lost my balance but I have never gone done or sprained my ankle. Knock on wood……
You were supposed to say ” these are SO EASY TO WALK IN!” Hahaha!!
You and Emerson look adorable! What a very special day. Love the outfit especially the cute little dress! Thank you Tania for always being real and for helping us embrace who we are?Have a wonderful Saturday!
Love it that the handbag made another appearance! And love the pic of you and Emersyn! Great outfit!
I needed to hear about your legs. I honestly never thought about the work they do getting us from Place A to Place B. My legs are my least favorite and I needed to hear your comments. I will definitely look at them differently. My knees and legs are what they are and I need to embrace them!!! I need to quit worrying what someone might think and just embrace them!!! Thanks Tania!!! 🙂
Tania i love this outfit. My daughter is graduating middle school om Wednesday. I was thinking of wearing culottes and a nice top but what have done seems so much easier. Thanks for the idea Im going to try to find one in cobalt blue which is one of the school colors
That is an adorable outfit in a hyrry. Don’t you just love how we get such a timely heads-up about your grandkids programs? Sheesh, a whole hour’s notice! But you rocked it! And I still cant believe you’re shy! You have accomplished SO much! Have a blast on your vacation!
You could be Emrryson’s Mom instead of grandmother. Look nice.
Love the outfit..I love the swing dresses. They say blondes don’t look good in yellow, well you look fabulous! Will have to purchase a yellow dress. I enjoy seeing your outfits, always so put together! Have a fab weekend
I love your blog Tania -who else is gonna show us a close up of her foot????? You are the best ! Oh and I think the platforms would look great with the twist top outfit . Enjoy the beach and your family , can’t wait to see the pictures.
: D
I need you to come to my closet and put together outfits for me. I live your style.
Good morning! You and Miss Emercyn look adorable!!!! That is the cutest pic.
I love your spunk. Dressing should be fun and your style is just that. I am a few years older (63) and I, too, enjoy what I wear.
Thanks for the pep talk about legs. I needed to hear that. I’m 60 and have always shown off my legs but I have arthritis in my knees and they don’t look like they used to. I tend to cover them. I DO need to be thankful that they do what they are suppose to do.. I walk daily and cycle on the weekends. I will show them off proudly!
Love the cork wedges Tania! How cute to match with the school.colours?
Like you when in a hurry I have a simple go to dress which I wear with a pair of mushroom grey shoes. It’s a never fail outfit. I love the earrings you wear but even at the age of 61 I am not brave enough to have my ears pierced and finding a pair of clip ones is a rarity.
Fantastic look! I have recently rediscovered a love for easy dresses! And skorts! I just love throwing on a pretty easy dress and running errands – and hubby harms finally quit telling me I’m “overdressed!” Haha! Love the look of that wedge – but scared I’ll fall off of them!
Love your blog – I’ll be 55(???) in a couple of weeks – and I’m taking better care of myself now than I ever did!
Thank you!!
Rhonda, the fear is real. You could easily sprain an ankle or worse if you turn a platform shoe over. I pay close attention whenever I wear a platform shoe. Lol!
