LINEN CAN KEEP YOU COOL IN THE SUMMER
I am thinking that I am going to have to change my name to “Travels with Tania” if I don’t quit going places. Traveling has never been something that I really wanted to do a lot of. However, here in the last few years, I seem to be doing a lot of it. Guess what, I am really enjoying traveling and now I am starting to think more and more about where can I go next. My Energizer Bunny Friend reminded me that I said the same thing about massages. I must be going through some changes in my fifties. Whew, at this rate I will be a gypsy by the time I am in my sixties. Lol!
I am coming to you from North Myrtle Beach in South Carolina today. My pictures might still be on my porch for a day or two but my toes are in the sand. I was laughing and telling my mother about Emersyn being so excited to get to go to the beach. I walked over to their house on Saturday afternoon to take her some curlies (aka shrimp) for her to eat. She was hopping around telling me that she was leaving in the middle of the night to go to the beach. While I was talking to her mom she disappeared into the house. She was gone for a long time and then she came out pulling her little suitcase behind her. She proudly announced that she had packed. I asked her what she had packed thinking maybe some of her toys, etc. She said, “I have 7 pairs of panties, 7 pajamas, and 7 outfits.” Lol! I should have let her come and pack for me too. hahaha!
Oh my goodness, talk about loving a simple shirt. This bright pink tee is a 100% linen and a 100% rayon contrast. I think that means that the two fibers are woven together. What it means to me and you is that this has the coolness of linen and the wrinkle free properties of rayon. At least that is my theory. I’ll be sure to let you know how it works out after I have washed it and worn it several times. I also like the relaxed look of the tee. The cap sleeves are especially nice for balancing out someone who has narrow shoulders and like me, a thicker waistline. It helps to give me a resemblance of an hourglass shape. And, to add a little romance to the look, it has a tiered hem. Are you asking what is the drawback to this top? The top is a “hand-wash” and lay flat to dry. Woohoo! I am finally getting to style a couple of my new items from the new Spring/Summer line. Just lookd at this McKinnley necklace! This is gorgeous with its peach and champagne beads but it is the natural stone charm that makes it really stand out. The stone is a light seafoam color with veins of white and brown that runs through it. Then, hanging from the stone would be a peach tassel which ties into the “fringe” trend of the year. I have doubled the necklace to have it look like a chocker and a necklace but you can also wear it as one long necklace. The Kensie magnetic bracelet is a multi-strand leather bracelet in several different pastel colors. There are also several different stones attached to the leather bands giving it even more interest. Right before I left I made sure to get everyone’s free piece of Plunder who had purchased over 50.00 (excluding tax and shipping) between the dates of May 16th and the 31st in the mail. I worked my tail off to get all the packages addressed and ready to be mailed on Monday since I knew that I was going to be gone for a week. BUT, I didn’t have time to write a personal thank you to everyone. I am sorry. If the Plunder website gives me access to your email address then you will be getting a thank you that way. One of the things that I like about this bamboo purse is that you can tie a cute scarf around the handle to match whatever you are wearing. This is a vintage scarf that was my grandmothers who lived to be 103. It is the palest peach color with a small print of turquoise and pink. I don’t have anything in my purse at this time because I tied the scarf on before I put anything in it. Lol! Then I was too lazy to take it off before I took the pictures. Here is where you can see where I bought the purse.
Ahhhh, the rear view that I love so much. Lol! These linen pants were on sale back in the fall at Cato Fashions and I knew that I would eventually wear them so I went ahead and bought them. It was really a matter of “too good to pass up” kind of a deal since they were 3.99. Yes, you read that right, they were under 4.00! They are the palest peach color which is such a happy summer color. Would you have ever thought about wearing peach and hot pink together? I thought that since I was wearing a linen top that I might as well wear linen pants also. This pair has a drawstring and elastic waist which I am not a fan of so I covered it up by letting the top hang loose. Here are some cute linen pants that will help to keep all you ‘Hot Mammas” cool this summer!

Lovely outfit. I have that top, myself and love it. The white pants cut and length, (elongating), looks really good on you, too.
