Fashion Blogger 50 Is Not Old is wearing a lilac cardigan over a white button down shirt with a pair of dark wash jeggings and gold mule shoes Today is Memorial Day in the United States. It is a day when we remember and celebrate those who have lost their lives in the military. I ran across this quote, and I thought that I would share it with all of you. “Courage is contagious. When a brave man takes a stand, the spines of others are stiffened”. Billy Graham God Bless those who have served, may we honor them this Memorial Day and their loved ones who are forced to carry on without them.
Fashion Blogger 50 Is Not Old is wearing a lilac cardigan over a white button down shirt, a pair of dark wash jeggings and gold mule shoes Sunday was my Energizer Bunny Friend’s daughter’s birthday. She celebrated turning 13 years old and requested a trip to Ulta for her birthday. She got a vanity with makeup lighting as her big birthday gift, so she needed to purchase makeup to fill it up. Her mother also took her to the bank and opened her a checking account. They deposited some of her money into the account and ordered her some checks. Of course, the birthday girl didn’t think that she needed checks since she had “this plastic card.”

I think that it is a great thing that my friend is doing. So many children grow up with no concept of how to handle money or reconcile their bank account. I knew someone who was shocked to find out that they had an overdraft. “How can that be? I still have checks” was their response. Lol!
Fashion Blogger 50 Is Not Old is wearing a lilac cardigan and a white button down shirt I love lilac! I think it is such a gorgeous shade of purple and I love wearing it as much as possible. I shopped my closet today, and everything that I am wearing is something that I’ve had for a little while. This cardigan was a Talbots purchase a while back, and this color is no longer offered on the website. But, there is a gorgeous pink color that is still available that I will link to below. I am wearing a medium in this cardigan, and it fits me great. I love wearing a cardigan all year round, but I know some of you live in a climate that is too hot for even a lightweight sweater.

Fashion Blogger 50 Is Not Old is wearing a lilac cardigan over a white button down shirt with a pair of gold hoops from Kendra Scott I am wearing my Kendra Scott large Maggie hoops earrings. I love this large pair (HERE) because of the filigree design. They are very lightweight, but they make a HUGE statement. This style also comes in a small size (HERE) and a huggie size. (HERE) BUT, I also want to bring to your attention that Kendra Scott just put 140 items on sale for 40.00! (HERE)
But, that sale ends TODAY. I am ordering SEVERAL things, and I’ll try to link to my order below.

Fashion Blogger 50 Is Not Old is wearing a lilac cardigan over a white button down shirt with a pair of dark wash jeggings and mule shoes This white button-down shirt is perfect for everything. You can tie it at the waist for a relaxed look, wear it under a sweater, or wear it by itself. HERE is a post where you can see a couple of different options. The shirt that I am wearing in this post (HERE) is from Loft. I am wearing a medium, and the shirt fits me great. Some of the reviews said that the shirt shrank. The washing instructions say to wash in cold water and lay flat to dry. I did that, and I didn’t have any problems with mine shrinking. However, when stores have big sales, sizes get limited, so good luck finding your size.

Fashion Blogger 50 Is Not Old is wearing a lilac cardigan,a white button down shirt with a pair of dark wash jeggings, and gold mule shoes I am wearing my Wit & Wisdom jeans. Don’t ask me which pair because they are all starting to run together in my brain. All I know is that every Wit & Wisdom jean that I’ve tried on has fit great and has been so soft. This brand is not that expensive either, so it makes them a brand to watch. I am pretty sure that these are the jeggings that I got in recently. I took the website’s advice and sized down to an 8 instead of my usual size 10. These fit me like a glove, but if you want a looser fit, then order your normal size. HERE is the link to the jeggings.

The gold mules are Sam Edelman, and I bought them last year. They are still on the website but are very limited in sizes. I am wearing my usual size 9 in these, and they fit perfectly. HERE is the link to these, and HERE is a pair that is very similar that is from Target.

Lilac is a gorgeous color. I have an olive skin tone and hazel eyes (one of my daughters noticed them when she was about four and said, “Mama, you have sunflower eyes!” She also told me how much she loved my wrinkles (because I laugh so much…nice save, Abby!). I am an Air Force brat, so thank you for honoring our service members who gave the ultimate sacrifice. ❤️

My father was in the Navy!

Even though I’m a summer, I only like deep colors like teal, black, brown, red, royal blue, purple, wine and so on.. Those colors are winter. I like very casual street style look with a touch of DISNEY.

I love the lilac color and it really does look good with your coloring. I bought the Loft white shirt in M and it was way too big so must return. I am very curious about your friend going to a bank and opening an account. I didn’t know lobbies were open – I don’t think they are here, just drive thru. Anyway, I’m so happy to hear that businesses are opening up and great experience for a young person to get that first bank account experience.

Hummm, I am not sure how they got the account. Maybe they could do it at the window. I know she already had a savings account.

You can go in the banks here, if you have an appointment. I bet she called ahead. I took my daughter when she was 15 bc she wanted to know all about life skills. I know I’m bragging, but this girl has it together better than her mom.
