LAYERING IS THE KEY TO TRANSITIONING TO FALL

Fall is one of my favorite times of the year. I love all of the fall colors and the crispness that is in the air. It tells me that it is time to make smores over a fire and snuggle under a blanket. Transitioning my summer wardrobe to make it fall-ready is a simple process, and here is a cute outfit that will get you in the mood for fall.

A basic summer tank top can become the building block for your fall transition outfit. The sleeveless tank top will look great when layered with a cardigan, blazer, or jacket this fall. I love this ribbed tank by Athletic Works, and it is incredibly soft to the touch. It is flowy and has a lot of stretchiness, so it fits like a dream. I think that a v-neck is the most flattering on me, and this tank features a double v-neck. You look great coming and going with this tank. I have a love/hate relationship with camouflage. The camo pattern appeals to me since I am a fan of neutrals and nature. However, most camouflage doesn’t look great against my skin, so I tend to stay away for the olive green versions. But, there was something about this lightweight camo jacket that grabbed my attention. I liked the cropped boxy look of the jacket, and I love that it is a linen/viscose blend. I want a lined and structured jacket when it is a dress jacket, but for this casual look, I prefer the unlined and lightweight look. If camo is not your cup of tea, this jacket also comes in green and ivory.

Bootcut jeans are great for fall. I fell in love with this brown stone color by Time and Tru because of the unique color. I have lots of jeans, but this was the first pair that I have found in this neutral shade. Bootcut jeans tend to hug your hips and thighs and then flare out from the knee down. These jeans look good with almost anything, and that slight flare at the hem helps to balance out your body, especially if you have wider hips. I am 5’6″ tall, and the 31.5″ inseam is fine even with my heeled ankle boots. I am wearing a size 10 in these jeans, and they fit me perfectly. You might also want to consider straight leg jeans if you are not a fan of the bootcut leg.

Wearing a neutral boot in the same color as your pants will help to elongate your legs. The Time and Tru taupe zipper bootie is a perfect ankle bootie that you can wear with jeans or dresses. The boots have a memory foam insole to help with your comfort, and the heel is only 1 1/2″ high, which will be a height that most people can wear.
