I’M LOVING THIS SKORT OUTFIT AND IT’S PERFECT FOR WOMEN OVER 50
Happy Tuesday! I hope that your week is off to a great start. I’ve been trying to watch what I’m eating and add some exercise into my life recently. So, this morning when my friend, Kim, messaged me that she was going for a walk, I decided to join her. She lives in Michigan, and I live in Virginia, so we call each other to keep one another company while we walk. It sure makes the time go faster when you have a walking buddy.
I am starting slowly since I am sedentary most of the time. I walked a good distance, and when I got back to the house, Joe told me that I needed to walk it again. UGH! So, I headed back out the door and walked some more. In total, I walked 2 miles at a 4 mile an hour pace. I was very pleased with myself, especially since I am a slow walker. However, I was ticked when I realized that I had forgotten to put on my Apple watch, so it didn’t track my steps. The Health app on my iPhone told me the distance, etc., but I couldn’t get it to transfer to my watch. I knew that I walked that distance, but I wanted those dang rings to close. Lol!!!
I wanted to show you how adding a pop of color to a classic navy, and white outfit takes it to the next level. There are times when I like wearing a monochromatic look, and sometimes I like wearing classic color combinations like navy and white. Then, there are those other times when I am feeling sassy, and I want to add something colorful to my outfit to make it really stand out.
Before we get to the added color, let’s start with the outfit’s basics. I just got in this sleeveless navy and white gingham button-up shirt, and I was looking for a way to style it.
I loved the shirt’s fit, and I knew that it would look great when worn with white. The great thing about this color combination is that it will look good with denim or a bright pair of pants/shorts/skirt.
I wasn’t sure about the sizing of the shirt, but since I wanted to make sure that the buttons didn’t pull or gape open, I ordered a large. The large fits me great and is not too big under the arms. I hate it when my bra shows because the armholes are so big.
I love this orchid color, and I seem to wear it a lot this year. I bought this classic jean jacket early in the spring, and it became one of my favorite jackets. It also became a lot of people’s favorite too because it sold out very quickly. However, I found many items in this color, and they are on sale for 30% off, so I’ll link those for you.
A skort is a wonderful summer item. The combination of shorts and a skirt was a stroke of pure brilliance by someone. I just bought this white Zenergy skort, and I have already worn it at least 4 or 5 times. Lol! I am sure that people are beginning to wonder if I have any other clothing. Hahaha!
The skort material is very lightweight and is a soft stretch fabric with built-in UPF 50+ sun protection. This is perfect for walking, playing golf, or just going out to lunch with friends. The skort is a pull-on style with a drawstring waistband, and the under-shorts have a 5.5″ inseam. I am wearing a size 1, and it fits great. A size 1 is my usual size for Chico’s clothing, so I think it runs true to size.
Look how cute these printed flip-flops are! Nope, these aren’t Lilly Pulitzer; they are by Vera Bradley. This is the Rain Forest Canopy pattern that matched my adorable pajamas. The two-toned espadrilles that I have on in this post are cute also. I liked them a lot, but in the end, I preferred the flip-flops. The espadrilles run true to size, and I am wearing my regular size 9.
