HOW VERSATILE ITEMS MAKE CLOTHING AFFORDABLE

Welcome to Affordable Fashion Monday! Versatile items in your wardrobe are one of the easiest ways to make your clothing affordable. If you can wear an item in multiple ways, it becomes more affordable. Today, I’m going to style one top from Walmart in two ways to showcase its versatility.

The price of everything seems to be on the rise, but that doesn’t mean we can’t purchase a few items occasionally. I keep telling my husband that “I’m worth it,” and he can’t figure out how to ask me to quit buying things without saying otherwise. Lol!!!

This Scuba Pullover Top from Scoop is so soft, and the quality of the material is fantastic. I love the style of this top, and the v-neckline is great for elongating your neck. This top toes the line between casual, sporty, and chic, and it can be worn in many ways. I’m wearing a large, and I like the fit.

Here is the side view so you can see the length of the top. It is short, but I wouldn’t call it copped, and it looks great with high-waisted jeans or shorts.

This Cognac Front Flat Handbag is a great medium-sized bag. It’s a good size and has a reasonably spacious interior that will hold all of your essentials like a phone, small wallet, lipstick, etc. I like that you can carry this versatile bag off the shoulder as a crossbody or use the handle as a tote.

These Wide Leg Cropped Jeans aren’t going to be for everyone, but I love this silhouette, especially with boots. I can wear these jeans now, and I’ll get a lot of wear from them this fall. When you wear wide-leg pants, it is best to wear a fitted top or one that gives you a waistline like the pullover top above. It is all about balancing out the width of the pants, so wide on the bottom equals fitted on top. I’m wearing a size 8 in these jeans, which fit great.

I know the latest shoe style is the ankle strap, but I’m not a huge fan. The strap usually digs into my skin when I take a step, so I prefer shoes without the strap. There are a couple of shoes I have where the strap doesn’t bother me, and I can’t figure out what is different about those versus the others I’ve tried. This Braided Ankle Strap Sandal didn’t bother me when I tried them on, but I’ve not done much walking in them yet. I like the raffia-style braid and the modern square toe of these sandals. They run true to size, and I’m wearing my usual size 9.

I love comfortable clothing, and I’m always looking for outfits that can go from the couch to out the door. Clothing that can serve double duty and is versatile is what I try to fill a large portion of my closet with.

The Scuba Pullover Top is soft and comfortable and can be worn in many ways. When I noticed the matching Tie Front Track Pants, I grabbed those too. I didn’t intend to wear them as a set; I thought the pants would be great for running around town or lounging around the house. However, when I put them on together, I was slightly blown away because the comfy, cozy outfit all of a sudden looked elegant and classy. My DIL, who was taking my photos, kept commenting on how nice the outfit looked together.

The wide leg style, the sewn-in seam down the front, and the draping of the pants help to make them dressy looking. I hope they add more colors to this style because I would love to have more. I wasn’t sure how these would fit, so I sized up to a large. However, I need a medium because these look a little baggy on me.

You might have seen me wear these Embellished T-Strap Sandals eight or ten times. Lol! They are the perfect little summer sandal because they can go with pretty much everything, They look great with dresses and shorts, and I’ve worn them with jeans also. The different size rhinestones add some bling to your look, and I think they are super cute. These run TTS, and I’m wearing a size 9.

I wore my 14Kt Gold Plated Paper Link Necklace and Gold Earrings with both outfits. The necklace is 23″ long, and I can wear it in a couple of different ways. I wore the necklace in a Y last Friday (see the post here), and I’m wearing it here as a chain. My earrings have already sold out, but I’ll link to some that I own and a few that I like.
