50 IS NOT OLD | HOW TO WEAR YOUR SHIRT UNBUTTONED | FASHION OVER 40Gurl’s, if this trip ended tomorrow, it has been amazing. Watching the sunrise this morning was so pretty. You have to remember that I am from the mountains in Virginia, so the sun has to be high in the sky before It ever comes over the mountaintops. The weather has been perfect so far with just a small breeze and temperatures in the high 80’s. I could get used to this life. Lol! I was surprised though; I never knew that there were so many mountains in this area or that it was so dry. It looks like the desert except for when you are on the resorts. I guess that I thought that it was like a tropical rainforest, but I couldn’t have been more wrong. When I looked online today, it called it a “Desert With An Ocean View,” and that is a perfect description.
50 IS NOT OLD | HOW TO WEAR YOUR SHIRT UNBUTTONED | FASHION OVER 40 The other reason that the day was so great is that we met a wonderful couple at the pool. When I struck up a conversation with this couple, I had no idea how interesting they were going to be. I could feel my mouth hanging open the entire conversation. Honestly, I have mentioned that I am generally shy in person, but for some reason, I decided to step out of my comfort zone and say hello. Joe hit it off with Mr. R, and I loved talking to Mrs. P. I wish that they hadn’t been leaving today, it would have been nice to have spent some more time with them. I learned a lesson; there are some pretty amazing people out there if you will just take the time to say hello.
50 IS NOT OLD | HOW TO WEAR YOUR SHIRT UNBUTTONED | FASHION OVER 40Once again, I am wearing linen. I love wearing linen all spring and summer long. It is lightweight, airy, and cool, which is perfect when the temps start rising. The striped button-up shirt is a new top that I bought at Cato Fashions. Today I decided to show a different look for wearing a button-up shirt. I decided not to button the top at all, but instead to just tie the bottom together. I like the easy-going style, and the key is to keep the knot low. You wear this in the same fashion with the buttons buttoned, or you can wear it hanging open without the knot, but I think the knot makes the top look polished and structured. You can even wear a top in this style as a bathing suit cover-up, or over a dress, etc. You are only limited by your imagination.

50 IS NOT OLD | HOW TO WEAR YOUR SHIRT UNBUTTONED | FASHION OVER 40I am wearing a raffia tassel white earring from MudPie. I bought several pairs of earrings from MudPie when I went to North Carolina a couple of weeks ago. I also bought this same pair in black, and you will see me wearing those later in Cabo. The brightly colored beaded bracelet with the hanging pink tassels added a small amount of color to the outfit. However, when I looked at the Plunder Design website, it must be sold out since I couldn’t locate it anywhere.
50 IS NOT OLD | HOW TO WEAR YOUR SHIRT UNBUTTONED | FASHION OVER 40My wide leg white linen pants are old. They are a pair that I bought from Old Navy years ago, and I wear them all the time. I have them packed for my trip here in Cabo since they are perfect for the lake, poolside, or ocean. This style is casual and relaxed, and they are stylish and classic all at the same time. You don’t find too many clothing items that can be all of that. Lol!

50 IS NOT OLD | HOW TO WEAR YOUR SHIRT UNBUTTONED | FASHION OVER 40I brought my cute Coach handbag with me on this trip also. I have had this bag for years, and I carry it at least once or twice every year. I think it is adorable with the ladybug and palm leaves. The pink is starting to look dingy, so I have got to figure a way to clean it up to make it look nicer, or I am going to have to retire the bag. That makes me sad even thinking about retiring this cute thing. Here is a link where you can find several of these bags depending on if the bag is new or used.
50 IS NOT OLD | HOW TO WEAR YOUR SHIRT UNBUTTONED | FASHION OVER 40I finished this outfit with a pair of navy t-strap sandals. My pair needs to be replaced because I keep stubbing my toe on my brick steps on my patio. Every time that I do that I take a chuck out of the leather sole, but I am grateful that it was the sole and not my toe. Lol! While I am looking for similar styles for you, I am going to be shopping myself. Haha

50 IS NOT OLD | HOW TO WEAR YOUR SHIRT UNBUTTONED | FASHION OVER 40Y’all, remember that comfort zone that I talk about all the time? Today, I have to bust that zone wide open. I filled out a survey for Rodan + Fields the other day, and they picked me to appear in a film they are doing. I bet that most of you think that I am not that shy in person, but you would be incorrect. Lol! I started stressing about doing this short, probably 30 seconds, speaking role last night. I mean why wait to the last minute to stress, right? Lol!

  1. I have to say, I’m happy to see you linking to products more. Makes it so much easier to shop for your looks.

    Thanks.

  2. Hi Tania,
You look lovely and I think your purse is perfect with your outfit. I appreciate Coach purses because of the quality and that the company stands behind their products. If you take your purse to any Coach store they will condition it for free once a year no matter where you purchased it from. Just phone to check if you need an appointment because during a busy season it may take a day or two before they are able to look at it however many times it is same day service. The store where I have shopped will also price match and has a guarantee to sell any in-store product at the lowest rate. Have fun!
