HOW TO WEAR PLAID PANTS IN THE FALL OF THE YEAR
I can’t believe that it is already Wednesday. This week is flying by, and it will be the weekend before we know it. I went pumpkin shopping yesterday, and I have bought a few yellow mums, so that means that it is now officially Fall. Lol! As my DIL and I were sitting in her vehicle, I noticed that the leaves were swirling around in the air, and I couldn’t help but think that it was time for apple cider. Lol! That is my go-to drink in the Fall, so I went by the store and grabbed me a gallon.
There are certain things that all of us do as our seasonal rituals. I have already started to think about the foods that I love in Fall, such as homemade chili and vegetable beef soup. I have some sweet peppers that need to be used soon, so I think that I’ll make up a batch of spaghetti sauce and put it in the freezer. Sometimes I feel like a squirrel that needs to prepare for the winter months ahead because I want to start filling my freezer at this time of the year. That FoodSaver that I showed you a while back (here) has been working overtime this past week, and I just got in another shipment of bags for this week’s batch of goodies. Lol! What are your fall rituals???
Last week on my Tuesday Try-On Post, I showed you this same poncho, but in a blueish color. I ordered this black poncho also because I knew that I would be able to wear it a lot this Fall. I love the deep v-neck of the poncho and the 3/4 length sleeves. Both of those features are very flattering to most people, so I look for clothing that features them. This poncho is lightweight and is perfect for transitioning into Fall. I recommend wearing a tank top or camisole under the poncho since it has a deep slit up the sides. You can wear this poncho with leggings, so this would be perfect for throwing on as you head out the door to run errands. It would almost look like you “dressed” to go out instead of wearing leggings. Lol! This poncho does come in three other colors, so check that out.
I am betting that all of you have been looking at this long statement necklace that I am wearing. The necklace is crafted of lightweight resin in gorgeous ombre colors with a suede cording. IT IS BEAUTIFUL!!! I love wearing long necklaces for the same reason that I like a v-neck sweater; they both elongate your neck. The long necklace draws your eye downward, which helps to make you look taller and thinner! Woohoo!!! I also added the matching earrings because they are cute and lightweight. You can grab both of these items at 25% off by using the code 86754
Plaid and Fall go hand in hand. But, wearing plaid pants in fall can be tricky, but this look is chic and stylish. I love the brown and black checks against the creamy background on these plaid pants. The really cute and unique detail is the peek-a-boo zip slits in the front. That slit is perfect for showing off your booties, or you can zip it closed it you are just wearing flats. I ordered my usual size 10, but these are too snug for me at the waist. They look good on, but they are uncomfortable, so I am sending back to see if I can get a bigger size. Since these pants are under $35.00, they are a steal!!!
You probably saw these boots in my yesterday’s try-on post. But, here is a much better photo of the boots, and maybe you can see why I was so crazy over them. This caramel color is my favorite for boots, and I am drawn to it all of the time. But, it is the buckle detail and the higher rise on these boots that sent me over the top. The pointy toe and chunky heels are very modern looking and trending for Fall. These are super cute, and they run true to size. These ankle boots are by Sam Edelman, and if you look closely, you will see a small SE logo on the heel and buckle. I love it when a company pays attention to details like that.
The Carson Tory Burch Tote is a splurge purchase, or at least it was for me. I was able to grab it when it was on the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, so at least that helped some. I have a weakness when it comes to handbags, and I will spend money on them that I won’t on anything else. I know ladies who spend 400.00 and 500.00 on shoes, and that is not my thing. So, I guess we all have our weaknesses, just in different areas. Lol! I’ll link to a few more similar, but more affordable, tote options also.
Every month I am having a new incentive and giveaway for Rodan + Fields. This month it is all about a routine. People tend to pick and choose products instead of getting on a regimen that is specially formulated to work together. All of our regimens come as a 4-piece set, and each product is designed to work with the next product. They are numbered so that you don’t have any confusion on which product to use when. This month’s special is going to be, purchase any regimen, add Active Hydration Serum, and I’ll gift you Redefine Multi-Function Eye Cream. (64.00 value for FREE) Purchase MUST be made as my Preferred Customer. Here is the Solutions Tool for you to take so that you will know what regimen you need.

Notice how my eyes are much more opened…this is because of the Redefine Eye Cream!!! I use it 2X a day, and I never miss using it! To place an order, click here, pick your products and add them to your cart, go to checkout and be sure to click JOIN PC PERKS to get 10% off the retail price, FREE shipping, and the extra product from me. This is the look that you have when you are soooo tired of changing clothes in the back of a vehicle, and you still have two more outfits to take photos of. Lol! If you see some blonde yanking off her top in a random parking lot, just look the other way and say to yourself, “that poor woman must be a blogger.” Lol!!!

Cute outfit and I love the poncho, so chic and fun. I actually have been looking for a poncho, so I will be checking out your suggestions. I love the idea of fall and have just started to decorate. It is time for pumpkins and beautiful mums..
Hi Tania, you have given me back my confidence to wear clothes that I wouldn’t even consider wearing at 61- like the plaids. I absolutely love your blog and your sense of humour.
I have enjoyed following your blog. You always have some great tips. Following last weeks “try on Tuesday “ I immediately ordered the red linen blend sweater from Target. It just arrived and the sweater is great looking and the perfect weight for Fall but I was so disappointed in the color. In your photos it looked to be a bright, beautiful red, but in reality its not red at all it’s more rust. I’ll be returning and maybe purchasing another color.
All for a very grateful bunch of women who think you are special. I had three blogs going at once a few years ago and it’s tough to get photos. Thank God mine was gardening. Growing older, and my spiritual journey. None required a change of clothes,
I do like these pants a lot and like you I start early on Fall because I love my third layers. That poncho is something I would really wear and……..it’s probably still in my size. LOL
Love the earrings so I bought a pair!
Cute Outfit. Question? Do you use the eye cream under eye and on your eye lids. Remarkable difference!
Love this outfit for fall and you look terrific in it!
LOVE this outfit, everything about it. My favorite in a longgggg time! I would die for that statement necklace, it’s everything!! Great outfit and styling!
You must live in a cooler climate. I live in NC and it is hot and humid here, some years even into Dec. how do I dress more fall ish without wearing sweaters and long sleeves? I’ve always just worn my summer clothes but frankly I’m so tired of them by now.
Living in Florida, it is still quite warm and humid. No sweaters here! Still wearing tank tops with a lightweight linen or chiffon over blouse. Trying to pull in traditional Fall colors and booties to create the feeling of Autumn. Sometimes I wish we actually had 4 seasons.
I agree with you on the four seasons. I was raised in Ohio and really miss not having snow and 4 seasons.
I just love that outfit and jewelry. I want it all. Have a good day.
