HOW TO WEAR DRAWSTRING PANTS AND LOOK DRESSY

Fashion Blogger 50 Is Not Old wearing a pair of drawstring leopard pants with a hot pink t-shirt, a cream linen blazer, and espadrille wedge sandals Over the weekend, I had the most wonderful experience at a new “very exclusive” boutique restaurant. It had a fabulous ambiance, and the food was superb. But, I think that it was the owner’s personality and how she made sure that each customer was well taken care of, which made the experience so fabulous. This was our first night eating at Emersyn’s Chef Cafe, and while it was excellent, the next night was even better. The next night we had three more customers join us for dinner, and we were served more than buttered toast. The chef prepared a wonderful meal of ribs, mac-n-cheese, baked beans, and rolls. For dessert, she served Oreo cookies, which were superb! Emersyn’s Chef Cafe doesn’t charge anything; everything is free! Make sure that you make your reservations early, though; it has limited seating. Lol!!!
Fashion Blogger 50 Is Not Old wearing a pair of drawstring leopard pants with a hot pink t-shirt, a linen blazer, and espadrille wedge sandals Did any of you doubt me when I said that the drawstring leopard print pants could be worn in a dressy style? If you missed my everyday look with these pants, then check out this post (HERE). I am a big fan of adding bright colors to leopard print, and hot pink is always my go-to when I want to be playful and colorful. This crewneck t-shirt from J. Crew factory is a great basic tee that is a nice weight and fits nicely. I like that it is a good length that can be tucked in or worn out. I bought several t-shirts from J. Crew in different colors since I liked it so much. HERE is a link to this color in the girlfriend t-shirt, and  HERE is a more subtle pink color in a fine-rib t-shirt.
Fashion Blogger 50 Is Not Old wearing a hot pink t-shirt, a cream linen blazer, and gold jewelry I am wearing the same gold jewelry today as I wore in the post that was an everyday look. It looks beautiful with any style. I just bought the Elle drop earrings in Ivory Mother of Pearl and the Elisa Gold Triple Strand necklace. I love both of these purchases, and I have found that I like layering the Elisa necklace with the Rue Long gold necklace.
Fashion Blogger 50 Is Not Old wearing a pair of drawstring leopard pants with a hot pink t-shirt, a cream linen blazer, and espadrille sandals I added a nice straw tote bag to my look today. If I am dressing up and going to work, then I need to be able to take along my essential items such as a wallet, phone, hand sanitizer, wipes, ink pens, Tylenol, extra masks, glasses, lip balm, etc. In the summer months, I love carrying a straw/raffia style handbag. It makes any outfit look summery and like you might be going to the beach at any time. I love the added natural colored trim that makes the tote look fancy. This type of bag is great for packing away since it is flexible and can be folded in a suitcase. HERE is the link to the handbag, and I am also including a few less expensive ones.

Fashion Blogger 50 Is Not Old wearing a pair of drawstring leopard pants with a pink t-shirt, a cream linen blazer, and espadrille wedge sandals A linen blazer will dress anything up! I love wearing linen in the summer months because it is so crisp and also because it is not as hot as other fabrics. I liked the cream color of the blazer, which doesn’t go toward the dingy side. Also, I love the longer length of the blazer; I think it is much better for me than the cropped versions. This blazer is super affordable so that it can go home with all of you. It is under $35, and this will look fabulous with jeans and a t-shirt also. HERE is the link to the blazer, and I am wearing a size 12, which fits me great.
Fashion Blogger 50 Is Not Old wearing a pair of drawstring leopard pants with a hot pink shirt, a cream linen blazer, and espadrille wedge sandals The leopard print pants are not your normal pair of pants. These are certainly eye-catching, and they are pretty versatile. I challenged myself to wear these in an everyday look like I have today, and in a few days, you’ll see these in a dressy and a casual look also. They have a drawstring waist and are a linen/cotton blend. I love anything with linen, especially in the summer months. They run true to size, and I am wearing my usual size 10. Here is the link to the pants, and I’ll show you a few other printed pants that would work also.

Lol! I used to carry a handbag every day, but since I stay at home a lot, I don’t remember to put them in the photo. Also, since I bought my LV, I don’t change bags as often.

All of your outfits are stylish, current and fashionable, and you always look amazing! I look forward to reading it, and especially love that you put together looks that are affordable, but very attractive. You’ve encouraged me to put together pieces that I hadn’t thought of before, and my husband has even commented about me looking “really nice!” Many thanks!!

I love your blog! I have been following awhile and I like your sense of humour and positive out look. And your clothes! I have bought a few of the items that I was able to source in ?? Otherwise the exchange, shipping, returns too difficult.

What body type would you say you are? I am an inverted triangle. Shoulders are small but my bust is bigger than my hips. I am just figuring this out so it might help me know what looks good on you, what would look good on me.

Thanks, Barb! I am thrilled that you are enjoying the blog. I call my body type a ruler. I am straight up and down and I don’t really have much of a waist. That is why you see me wear a lot of blazers and cardigans, they help to create a shape for me.

I keep my weight normal but my body is just a mess of too much here and not enough there. I love my white jeans and most of the time I’m fine but if I put on a white jacket or blouse, I immediately find red or mustard yellow to the color scheme. You look great and edgy in that outfit. I need a straw bag but most bags look to big on me, the crossovers I love. Haven’t seen a straw one,
