HOW TO MAKE A MONOCHROMATIC OUTFIT LOOK AMAZING

Happy Groundhog’s Day, everyone! If you are like me, you are sure hoping that the prediction is for an early spring instead of 6 more weeks of bad weather. It has been snowing here, so I am not holding my breath for warmer weather. Keeping warm and looking stylish is taking precedent over wearing colorful clothing for spring. Today I am going to show you how to take a monochromatic outfit from blah to WOW!

Shades of brown are not my colors. I look better in rich, vibrant colors, but I don’t always want to wear those. I love camel, beige, and rust, but I need to do something to punch up the look, or it will wash me out. There is nothing classier than a monochromatic outfit, but you have to watch to make sure that it doesn’t look boring. The one thing that I NEVER want to be is boring. Lol! I have always loved a monochromatic outfit, and here is a post that I did last year in soft tones.

You will love this Coolmax ribbed turtleneck from Chico’s. Not only is it a gorgeous neutral camel, but it is also a classic that you will be able to wear for years. Chico’s has reinvented the basic turtleneck with a chic rib knit with Coolmax® technology, the perfect combination of style and comfort. I love the cotton-blend fabric and how it skims the body without feeling tight or confining. I am wearing a size 1 (8-10) in the sweater, and it fits great.

Because camel is not the best color for my skin tone, I love adding something to create drama to draw your eye. Sometimes my drama comes in the form of jewelry; sometimes, it is a handbag, sometimes it is a scarf that draws your attention. Today, my tiger print faux-fur vest creates drama galore! I love the sheen of the fur on this vest, and the deep dark rich colors are gorgeous. I am wearing a size 1 in the vest, and it fits me fabulously.

The vest is only available in Petites, but the difference in length is only 1.5″, so the Petite may work for you. BTW, this is on sale at huge savings, so don’t let it pass you by.

The Bourbon colored Ponte-Knit pants fit great and are very comfortable. These Stevie pants feel like leggings, but they are made with a thicker Ponte Knit, so you don’t have to worry about them being thin and flimsy. The added center seam in the front and back is dressier than a pair of leggings, and you can easily dress these up with heels. I ordered a size large in these pants, and I think they fit great. They aren’t baggy, and they aren’t so tight that you can see my dimples. Lol!

The pants come in a couple of different colors, so check those out. Plus, they are on sale for $18.00, so you can grab a couple of pairs!

I am living in these UGG boots! Why am I always late to the party??? I love these boots so much that I use them almost daily for my houseshoes. Lol! I am not sure how they look with my pajamas, but they keep my feet toasty warm. These are the UGG Classic II genuine shearling boots, and I love the shorter style. The boots are pretreated to protect against moisture and staining, and the treadlite sole adds increased cushioning, durability, and traction on both wet and dry surfaces. I am wearing my usual size 9 in these, and they run true to size.

I don’t have on any jewelry today. The relaxed and casual monochromatic outfit style that I was going for didn’t call for any. However, adding jewelry and putting on jeans and a pair of pointy-toe ankle boots might be my next look with this vest. Here is what I would choose to wear.
