How To Look Your Best While Playing Golf
Have you ever tried golfing? Joe convinced me a few years ago to try it, and believe it or not, I was pretty good. I think I might have been REALLY good if I’d kept at it. (Side note: have you ever read Pride and Prejudice? I love the line where Lady Catherine de Bourgh is talking about music on the piano, and she says, “If I had ever learnt, I should have been a great proficient.”) So, if I’d ever learned golf, I would have been great, lol. As much as I enjoyed it, I don’t have much time to play 18 holes. But, if you play golf or if you’re like me and watch someone you love to play the game, this is for you! Today, I’m sharing how to look your best while playing golf. Or just watching golf, whatever.
How To Look Your Best While Playing Golf – Tops
Depending on your golf club, you might be required to wear a collared shirt. This lilac sleeveless top is the only top in this post that fits me correctly. The large size is perfect, and the light purple looks great with the blue-patterned skort.
This sleeveless top isn’t just any shirt; it’s designed to keep you cool and comfortable while on the golf course. With a length of 24 1/2 inches and a stylish v-neck, it’s made from a stretch fabric that moves with you, wicks away moisture to keep you dry, and even has UPF 50+ sun protection! Made from 86% nylon and 14% Lycra® spandex, it’s super easy to care for—just toss it in the wash and tumble dry.
I know that’s a tennis racquet, not a golf club, but the fashion police won’t care. This is 87% polyester and 13% elastane, making it super lightweight, stretchy, and breathable. It’s designed to wick sweat away, plus the collarless design provides a bit of sun protection for your neck. The curved hem and short sleeves offer great coverage and freedom of movement. Like the one above, it also offers UPF50+ protection. Available in a variety of colors like Sky Blue, it’s not just for sports but also great for casual outings.
This looks like a neat design detail, but it’s actually breathable mesh around the arms. It not only looks stylish but also keeps you cool throughout the day. I love the V-neck cut for that touch of style, and the cap sleeves are perfect for a sporty chic vibe. This shirt comes in the prettiest shades, like the pink shown, but there’s a whole rainbow of colors to choose from.
How To Look Your Best While Playing Golf – Skorts and Shorts
This is my favorite skort! I love versatile clothing, and this skort outfit could be worn for golf, tennis, or a date night. I love this print, and this length is my favorite for a skort. The longer skorts look dressy, but this length helps to make my legs look long and lean, and that’s what I want. This skort is also available in more colors and prints.
Here’s a skort that hits all the right notes for me! I love the asymmetric tiers, plus it’s made from stretchy, UPF-protective fabric. It’s a nice 18 1/2″ length, a comfy 4″ inseam, and a pull-on style for ease. Not to mention, the antimicrobial fabric keeps things fresh by inhibiting those pesky odor-causing germs. The bright white will look amazing against the green of a golf course.
Bermuda shorts are a wardrobe staple that offers both comfort and style, which is why they’re such a great choice for women over 50. Their length, typically hitting just above the knee, strikes a balance between showing some leg while still providing ample coverage. This makes them ideal for various activities besides golf, such as running errands, meeting friends for lunch, or enjoying a casual day out.
The PGA TOUR Women’s Stretch360 Golf Shorts are practical and inexpensive, with prices around $31. They’re designed with a stretch waistband that’s all about moving with you without feeling tight or uncomfortable. The best part? They’ve got a chic, straight fit that hits just above the knee, offering both style and coverage with a 9.5″ inseam. Whether you’re aiming for a hole-in-one or running errands, these shorts will have you looking great.
How To Look Your Best While Playing Golf – Pants
These pants are for anyone who loves to stay active without compromising on style. Like the other items, these are also made of lightweight, UPF-protective fabric. I love that they are stretchy, and the crop at the ankle gives a sleek, modern look. They come with a smoothing wide waistband that sits just right whether you’re teeing off or heading out for a casual meet-up. Made from 65% recycled nylon and 35% Lycra® spandex, they’re eco-friendly too. Easy to care for, you can choose to dry clean them or simply toss them in the wash.
These look very similar, with the cropped ankle and the wide waistband, but there are differences. These are made by Adidas, and they know a few things about athletic wear. The leg opening is a tiny bit bigger, giving you a slight flare, and they have a small slit on the side for a bit of detailing. These also have back pockets, which the navy pair does not have. You can’t go wrong with either pair. Or both, lol.
How To Look Your Best While Playing Golf – Shoes
Golfing is an excellent opportunity to buy new shoes, lol! You can’t walk around on the course in just anything! These have a nice grippy sole to ensure you’re not slipping and sliding around the green. They are designed to be super lightweight and sporty, and I’m a fan of the soft mint color.
Recognize the iconic three stripe design? Yes, these are also from Adidas! I like the subtle, soft coloring. They manage to look sporty but not masculine. These are technically “spikeless” which means you should be able to wear them inside the clubhouse, too. Perfect for having a cocktail after a long day of golfing or watching someone else swing the clubs!
Okay, ladies. Comment and let me know if you golf, like watching golf, or would be happy to never hear about golf, lol.

I dont do golf. But our book club is reading Pride and Prejudice next month so I will remember that line!
Tania how old is Lucy? She may be experiencing some anxiety due to loss of sight (needing the flashlight to find her bed) and/or hearing. If she is an older dog I highly recommend a visit to the vet for a senior check up. There are some medications that might help.
Really liked the golf clothes you showed. How about doing a post on pickle ball clothing since it’s so popular? I would love to see that!
Lovely choices!
I’m a big fan of golf, playing and watching! I was glad to see this post but wondered about the shirts. You said the first one is the only one that fit you correctly. Can you tell us about the fit of the other tops, especially the one with the perforated sleeves. Thank you…heading out to golf!
Hi, Tania! I have a golden doodle who is very restless all night long. I researched dog melatonin on Amazon and found a liquid with a dropper that I give to her at bedtime. She is still a VERY early riser, but she is sleeping much better at night, and I don’t notice her getting on and off the bed all night long. I hope you can find something that works. I was getting very frustrated when my sleep was getting interrupted.
Erinn, I asked Joe if he thought there was melatonin for dogs. I’m glad to hear there is, I might have to look into it if she keeps this up.
I don’t golf but cute things! & no dog here!
I like to pick items that can be worn for many reasons, golf being one of them.
Bring on summer temps…
Love the Bermuda shorts!
Oh my goodness Tania, I have the same dog /cat sleeping issue …..gotta love em and obviously they have US trained ! Just a thought, but has Lucy started doing this since Tom moved in ? she just might be a little uneasy or just this change has messed with her sense of normalcy. Our cat is indoor/outdoor , some times my husband will get up in the middle of the night and let the cat in—- somehow the dog knows she is somewhere in the house and the rest of the night is up and down , while she stays in bed she never really goes back to a deep sleep ,and neither do I !!!
We thought about that too, Marilyn. But, I’m pretty sure she started it before Tom came. She did better last night, but you never know what she is going to do.
