50 IS NOT OLD | HOW TO LOOK PUT TOGETHER WHEN YOU ARE OVER 40 | FASHION OVER 40Happy beginning of the weekend! Fridays have always been a day to celebrate since they signal the beginning of the weekend, but they are even better now that I have started doing a series called Friday With Friends. Many of you have told me how much you are enjoying meeting all the new bloggers, and the bloggers are blown away at how nice all of you are when you leave sweet comments on their posts. Today, you are really in for a treat! Susan Blakey has been one of those bloggers who I had a “girl crush” on, or may I am a “fangirl” when it comes to her blog.
50 IS NOT OLD | HOW TO LOOK PUT TOGETHER WHEN YOU ARE OVER 40 | FASHION OVER 40Susan has been blogging since 2007, so she knows what she is doing! You have probably already seen some of her posts, but if you haven’t, then you are in for a treat. Like me, she believes in helping women be their best selves at any age. She also loves leopard print, (what’s not to love) and red lipstick; does she sound like someone else you know? I admit that I had to look up the name of her blog. Not because I didn’t know the name of the blog, but because I didn’t know what the name meant. The blog is une femme d’un certain age which is a French phrase meaning, “a woman of a certain age.” Be sure to hop over and say hello to Susan…right after you finish reading my post. Lol!
50 IS NOT OLD | HOW TO LOOK PUT TOGETHER WHEN YOU ARE OVER 40 | FASHION OVER 40Some of you had seen me wear this dress and jacket when I went to North Carolina for an event last month. I didn’t have time to take the pictures then, but I wore this to Church on Sunday, and Emersyn and I took pictures before we changed clothes. I am a sucker for polka dots, and this is the cutest dress. It is my favorite style, which is a sheath dress, and it is such a nice heavy-weight material. I am wearing a large in this dress, and it fits me perfectly! When I say go, you better click on the link as fast as your fingers can, because this is marked down, and it is only $16.97. ? Here is the link! Oh, I forgot…GO!!!!
50 IS NOT OLD | HOW TO LOOK PUT TOGETHER WHEN YOU ARE OVER 40 | FASHION OVER 40I added my Ponte Jacket from Chico’s to the outfit for a little added “put together” style. I love adding blazers and jackets to my outfits for a lot of reasons, but I think they polish the look off and make it look more like a style, instead of an everyday look. This jacket has turned into one of my favorite jackets, and I find myself reaching for it all the time. It is a lovely material, and it fits perfectly. I am wearing a size 1, and I saw on the website that they are very limited in the sizes left. Here is the link; maybe you will be the lucky one who can wear what is still available.
50 IS NOT OLD | HOW TO LOOK PUT TOGETHER WHEN YOU ARE OVER 40 | FASHION OVER 40For accessories, I added the waterfall pearl necklace that I got c/o Purple Poppy back last year. I love this necklace, and I was pleasantly surprised to see that it is still available on their website. My pearl drop earrings are discontinued, but any pearl earrings would work for this look. My white pumps are a pair from Michael Kors. I know, surprise, surprise. Lol! I told you that I loved his line of shoes. Every time that I catch them on sale, I grab a pair or two. Lol! I ordered two the other night, and I’ll link them for you. Here and Here. I can’t wait to get them in and see if they fit. I ordered my usual size which usually works just fine.
50 IS NOT OLD | HOW TO LOOK PUT TOGETHER WHEN YOU ARE OVER 40 | FASHION OVER 40I thought that you might want to end this post with some sweetness. Isn’t Miss E adorable? Who could resist that smile?
