Fashion Blogger 50 Is Not Old wearing a pink sheath dress from Isaac Mizrahi with Lilly Pulitzer flip flops There are times when you are at a loss for words. I find myself struggling to put my thoughts and emotions in print because I am afraid of saying or doing the wrong thing. But, I know that inaction is almost the same as condoning actions, and I don’t want anyone to believe that I condone the actions that took the life of George Floyd. My heart breaks for his family, his friends, and those who are left to carry on without him. It breaks for everyone who has been on the receiving end of prejudice and judgments based merely on the color of their skin.

Fashion Blogger 50 Is Not Old is wearing a pink sheath dress from Isaac Mizrahi I’ve been following a pastor from Tulsa, Oklahoma, for several years. He is energizing, hilarious, humble-open-and-transparent, and he is BLACK. It was heartbreaking watching his Sunday virtual church service, and hearing his own recent (10 days ago) racial encounter. Interestingly, his #1 best selling book is titled Relationship Goals. Relationships are more than friends, family, and potential life partners. They are also how we treat our neighbors who come in all different sizes and skin tones. You can not judge if someone is good or evil based on skin color or what uniform they are wearing. If you are interested in hearing his thoughts and suggestions, then you can listen to his Sunday message by clicking HERE. I don’t have the answers, but I am not doing nothing. But, I am praying for hearts to be opened and for love to be poured in so that hate no longer has a foothold. I know that my blog is not where you come to for news and world events, but instead to get fashion inspiration. So, let me tell you about my jewelry, which is something I am much more comfortable talking about. I am not wearing much jewelry today, but instead just adding earrings and a necklace. The earrings from Lilly Pulitzer are the Zanzibar hoop earrings that have small crystals on them. And, the long Reid necklace has a gorgeous Ivory Mother of Pearl drop pendant.

I LOVE these beautiful flip flops. Those are words that I never thought that I would be saying. Lol! Who calls a pair of flip flops beautiful? Lol! I do! When the flip flops have a gorgeous Lilly Pulizer print on the sole and metallic gold straps, then they can be considered beautiful. I bought these shoes to match a bathing suit (HERE), and you will find the bathing suit as gorgeous as the shoes. The shoes run true to size, and I am wearing the 9/10 ones. HERE is the link to the shoes.

Fashion Blogger 50 Is Not Old is wearing a comfortable pink dress from Isaac Mizrahi with Lilly Pulitzer flip flops Today, I shopped in my closet. I wanted to wear something comfortable but still looked nice. This dress is years old, and it is by Isaac Mizrahi. I love a dress like this because I sometimes use it also as a bathing suit coverup. When you are at the beach, lake, etc., you need to go inside to get a sandwich or a drink, and slipping something like this on is perfect. This dress feels like a nightgown but looks flattering and appropriate for running inside a store. I will try to see if I can find something similar.

I have been singing this song all day long. It is a song that I learned at the knee of my grandmother, who also happened to be my Sunday School teacher.

Jesus loves the little children
All the children of the world
Red, brown, yellow
Black and white
They are precious in His sight
Jesus loves the little children
Of the world

Jo, you are right, I don’t like to comment on current events as a rule. But, sometimes, you need to break the rule and let others know that you care.

Thanks for adding the link to The Transformation Church. I’m always looking for new people to bring into my life, and he just may be one of them. And you’re right, we don’t come to your page for politics. I come to your page because you are cute and sweet and have a good sense for fashion. Maybe we would agree on politics, maybe not. Maybe we would agree on religion, maybe not. You provide a few minutes of relief from the crazy world. It was very thoughtful of you to include this message. Have a great day!

Claudia, Pastor Mike is different. He is energetic and has an engaging personality. He also has a passion for the Lord and a way of explaining the Bible that makes it easy to understand. None of us are going to agree on everything, but that is what makes us all unique. We just need to respect each other and embrace the differences.

I agree, Tania. I have always had a very simple rule in life. If you are nice to me, I’ll be nice also. I don’t care what you look like. You definitely cannot judge someone by the way they look. Ted Bundy taught us that lesson, among others. I like your coverup and the flip flops are very pretty.

I think we need to condemn the person who could do this to another human being, it doesn’t matter what their color is. We have people of all races who hurt others because of their religion, color or race. Condemn the individual.
I love dresses but my legs are pathetic. This old grey mare ain’t what she use to be. ? Flip flops are shoes too. These are great.

We just need to do our best to put the message out there that we are not okay with what is going on in our country. I’m very proud to read a fashion blog brave enough to address this. Thank you!!!
