HOW TO DRESS FOR A TROPICAL STAYCATION

I am crossing my fingers that the tropical getaway that I have planned for November will happen. But, just in case the getaway gets put on hold, I have my staycation outfit ready to go. Instead of having visions of sugarplums dancing in my head, I have thoughts of warm temperatures, sandy beaches, fruity drinks, and lush vegetation swirling around in my mind.

I don’t need a vacation as an excuse to wear tropical-casual clothing. Bright and colorful prints are right down my alley, and they make me happy. Sleeveless Knit Tropical Maxi Dress

So, when I saw this Tropical Leaf Print Sweater, I had to have it. I am slowly starting to transition my clothing toward fall, and this lightweight sweater is perfect for the colder days ahead. The Bateau neckline and drop shoulder sleeves are a flattering look that helps to create a more proportioned look. Since I am wider through my midsection, the illusion of a wider shoulder makes my midsection appear smaller. Woohoo!!! The sweater is a blend of Rayon, Linen, and Cotton, and it is machine washable. I am wearing my usual size 1, which is an 8-10, and it fits me perfectly.

One of the great things about this sweater is that it can be worn dressy or casually. Today, I paired the sweater with jeans, but I still wanted to dress it up a little with my jewelry. I added a big, bold goldtone link bib statement necklace; a goldtone pave textured cuff bracelet and a pair of Cassie goldtone hoop earrings to the outfit. Because the necklace makes such a statement, I decided to wear a simple hoop earring and cuff bracelet.

I’ve been wearing the So-Slimming Girlfriend Crop Jeans a lot lately, so today, I wanted to show you the Girlfriend Ankle Jeans. As fall and winter get nearer, I will start to think about wearing booties and knee boots. I love wearing good skinny ankle jeans with my boots, and these Girlfriend Ankle Jeans are going to be perfect. I am wearing the Deep Sea Indigo color, but these jeans also come in a light indigo color that is on sale. I am wearing a size .5 in these jeans, but I usually wear a size 10 in other brands.
