Happy Saturday!!! I am almost doing a happy dance today because I am feeling good…finally. The weather put me down for several days, but it has finally moved on, and I am once again feeling smurphy. But, it was enough to put a damper on my weekend plans. We had planned on going to a county fair with friends, and that ended up not happening.
Today, I am enjoying the sunshine, and it sure makes my head feel better. I am thrilled to hear that you gurls are on board with me doing a Friday Favorites “trying new things” post. I’ve already been trying a few new things, but I ordered many things to show you in the coming months. I like to try something for at least 2 weeks before I mention it, that way I can tell more about the product.
Be sure to let me know if there are some products that you would like to see me try. I won’t be talking negatively about any product. If I don’t like it, then I probably will never mention it. Brands work hard to create products, and just because I don’t like something doesn’t mean that you won’t. I would hate to throw shade on something that you might like. Of course, I can like a product, and you hate it. Lol!
This outfit could have gone under the heading of high-end, low-end. This turtleneck puff-sleeve top is a trending item, so I went with a low-end purchase. I am not sure how long the puff-sleeve trend will last, so I will not invest a ton of money on that trend.
Navy is a great neutral, and it looks fabulous on most people. A turtleneck doesn’t look the best on me, but I love them, so I will wear them. Lol! Remember, fashion is for YOU, so wear what you like. I am wearing a medium in this top since it has a relaxed fit, and it fits me great.
Remember to add a completer piece for a little something extra! Adding an extra layer is super easy in the fall since it is cooler outside, and a jacket or cardigan feels cozy and warm. This deep olive thin wale corduroy utility jacket is a KEEPER!!! It is a lightweight jacket, which I love about it, along with the color and the material. Lol!
This fine wale corduroy jacket has a stand-up collar and plenty of pockets. I have no idea what I want to put in pockets, but I sure miss them if they aren’t on a garment. This color has become my go-to for this fall, which is unusual since I would never wear olive before. That just goes to show you that your taste can change, so always be open to trying things again and again. I am wearing a large, and I love the way that the jacket fits.
The jewelry that I am wearing is from Kendra Scott. I have been wearing this jewelry brand for several years, and I love the style and the quality. It isn’t the most expensive, and it isn’t the least expensive; it is a great mid-range line. Here is what I am wearing today: Favorite AVI large hoops // Gold Vermeil thin chain and cross pendant // Maggie Bangle Bracelet.
You saw this handbag in yesterday’s post. I think this photo gives you a much better view of the color of the handbag. I really love the handbag, so I have ordered an insert to see if that will fix the slouchiness issue. The insert I ordered is gray since the inside of the bag is gray other than the top 3″ inches which is this beautiful spotted print.
If the insert works for the bag, you better get used to seeing me carry it since I have to make sure that I get my money’s worth. Lol!
This brand of jeans has quickly become a favorite. I love several brands, including Wit & Wisdom, Jag Jeans, NYDJ, Joe Jeans, and Kut From The Kloth. But this brand has stolen my heart right now!!!
These flare jeans are the bomb! I love this silhouette, and they fit like a dream. There are a couple of issues that some of you might have with these jeans. One, they are pricey and on the high-end of my spending limit. I bought these on the Nordstrom Sale, and I always take advantage of sales when I see them. Two, they are long! I am 5’6″ tall, and these are the tailorless version, which is similar to their petite line. The inseam is still 34 1/2″, but the regular version was 36″ long. Yikes! That is really long!
But, come on now, don’t these jeans look great? They even look good from the rear, which is not an easy accomplishment for jeans. This is why they are my favorite brand right now. I am wearing a 29 instead of my usual size 30, and I think the fit is great!
These platform booties by Steve Madden are how I can wear these jeans. I love the color of these boots, they are a great neutral, and you can wear them with everything. They also come in a darker Cognac color if you are worried about keeping the lighter color clean.
The platform is 1 1/4″ tall, and the heel is 3 1/2″ high. I am wearing my usual size 9, and they fit true to size.
I uploaded a new YouTube video on Thursday. Have you watched it yet? I know that you love try-on sessions, and this one is from Chico’s!
