HOW ADDING A STATEMENT ITEM CAN UP YOUR LOOK

Fashion Blogger 50 Is Not Old is wearing a gray tank with an Ecru colored cocoon cardigan with a large collar, black girlfriend jeans, and leopard print heels

It was a cold rainy day in Virginia yesterday, so I stayed inside and caught up on some work. I found a work-around for the ZOOM issue, but I never could figure out why it was asking for a passcode since I have the passcode requirement turned off. As long as I got a work-around, I don’t care about the why. I am still doing good with my resolutions that I made for January, and I am actually still using a planner. I don’t even know who I am anymore!

I am also trying to train my brain to focus, and this is turning out to be the hardest of all of my resolutions. I tell Joe all of the time that I have a squirrel brain since I am easily distracted. One of the things that I am trying is to put in my AirPods and turn on a YouTube channel that plays soothing music. Plus, to keep me from getting distracted with my phone, I close the case so that I can’t see notifications pop up. This works pretty well except when Joe is home and decides to talk to me. But, if I hear him talking, I take out one pod to see what he is saying and then pop it back in to continue working once we finish talking. I appreciated all of the help that you ladies gave me yesterday concerning ZOOM, so I would love to hear other tips on staying focused. It is great that we all help each other out; I love this community of women.

You might recognize this cashmere heathered gray tank from my yesterday’s blog post. If you haven’t read that post, then check it out since it is all about layering. I thought that I would show you another way to style this great tank that is still on sale for $20.85. Some of you were confused yesterday because only certain colors of this tank are on sale. The gray, navy and red are all on sale, but the toffee and ecru aren’t. This is a fabulous price for a basic layering piece that you will be able to wear with lots of items. It would look great under a denim jacket, a blazer, a cardigan, or even under a v-neck long sleeve sweater. Think outside the box when it comes to clothing and see how many ways you can wear the items you own. I am wearing a size 1 (8-10) in this super soft sweater, and it fits great. It does run a tad bit on the large size, but I like that it doesn’t show any of my rolls.

The tank plays a supporting role, and this snuggly soft cardigan is the star of this look. The large oversized collar, the ribbed design, the cocoon style, and the faux-fur puffs surrounding the cardigan all make this a statement piece that you will love. I dressed the cardigan up for this look, but it would look just as cute worn with joggers like these cashmere-blend ones below, leggings, or jeans. The cardigan’s length is great for covering your backside, so you can wear leggings with a longer top and not worry. I am wearing a size 1 (8-10) in this cardigan for size reference. The cardigan is also available in black and is machine washable if you are worried that you couldn’t keep this ecru color clean.

This squirrel brain blogger forgot to write down what pants she was wearing with this outfit. Lol! I took these photos last week, and I have forgotten. I know that they were from Chico’s because I got a bunch of clothing from them, and I wanted to post as much as possible since they were having such a huge sale. If I am not mistaken, these are the So Slimming Girlfriend Ankle Jeans that I have had for a while. I always size down in Chico’s clothing, and I have found that I need to order a size .5 in Chico’s pants even though I wear a size 10 in other brands. If you are unsure about what to order, I suggest ordering 2 sizes (that is what I did) until you get the hang of their sizing. Chico’s has free shipping when you spend $125.00 or more, and I always try to take advantage of free shipping when possible. Here are some other black pants that are on sale.

I wanted to add a little something extra for my shoes, but I didn’t want to add a bright color, so I went with my leopard print, Sam Edelman pumps. These shoes have been sold out for months, but I found them on a website that I’ve never used before on sale for under $40.00. This website is with my affiliate company, so I assume that it is good, or they wouldn’t add them to their website. You can always find similar shoes with leopard print, so I’ll add others that I think would be cute.

To God Goes The Glory!

Nehemiah 1:5-6

Then I said: Lord, the God of heaven, the great and awesome God, who keeps his covenant of love with those who love him and keep his commandments, let your ear be attentive and your eyes open to hear the prayer your servant is praying before you day and night for your servants, the people of Israel. I confess the sins we Israelites, including myself and my father’s family, have committed against you.

I must say that cardigan looks so cozy yet fancy:) I bet that outfit would look fabulous with faux leather leggings. I have seen a lot of them on Pinterest and finally bought a pair. Love them:) I thought they would be cold on my legs but no they are perfect. Big plus is that they are high rise and hide my rolls, yay! Have a fantastic week:)

Thanks for the suggestion to wear gray under an oatmeal cardigan. I tried it today and love the combination! Happened to have a scarf with gray, oatmeal, burgandy & pink and it worked great to bring it all together. Love your suggestion and style!

Regarding the zoom, I am a teacher and we use live google meets. And we have been having issues as well. Our computer tech told us that it is a worldwide google issue. Maybe that was the issue with zoom as well? We have to learn to roll with the issues these day. Good luck and have a great day!

Love your outfit and it looks so nice on you, but I’m tired of seeing so many neutrals, plus, I can’t wear wool/cashmere so…would love to see more color and cotton! Lol! A tall order for winter I suppose!
I don’t have any tips on staying on track other than your “mind talk.” We all have running conversations with ourselves all day. I find if my “conversation” is stay focused, do this one thing first and complete it or get this done now, then move on to the next thing; that helps!

I am starting to get a little tired of neutrals also, But, they go with so much and are great to have in your wardrobe. The pretty colors of spring are just now starting to hit the stores, so keep watching for those coming your way soon.
