HIT OR MISS – CASUAL AND COZY STYLE
Happy middle of the week day, aka Wednesday. I love this time of the week since the weekend will soon be here. I look forward to the weekend because Joe and I try to have a date night, which means I get to go to a nice restaurant to eat. I get dressed up for photos all of the time, but I try to dress just for Joe on date night.
We have found that I usually am way overdressed compared to what everyone else is wearing. I’m not even dressed to the nines, but I’ve found that the style here seems to be casual, laid-back, and comfy. I could wear this outfit when we go out, and it would fit right in, but I usually want to look a little dressier than this. How about you? Do you dress up when you go out for a date night?
Date night aside, this Terry Fleece Jumpsuit is fabulous and, oh, so comfortable! I love the soft heathered fabric and the cozy style of this jumpsuit. I know that jumpsuits can be a royal pain when it comes time to go to the bathroom, but this one doesn’t have any buttons, so it is easier than most to get up and down. The straps are nice and wide, so I don’t worry about my bra straps showing as I’m moving about. The jumpsuit has pockets and a drawstring waist, and a banded hem. I’m wearing a medium in Navy Heather, but I’m going to order one in Chocolate so that I will have it for this fall.
Here is the look from the side. Note to self, take your hands out of your pockets unless you like making your rear stick out.
This jumpsuit would have looked great with a denim jacket in blue or white, but I wanted to try one a little different. I love pairing navy and yellow together, so the Modern Jean Jacket in a mustard color seemed like the perfect choice. Jean jackets can be too hot for summer, so this modern one will be a better choice since it is 61% linen and unlined. This jacket will be great for fall also because mustard is a huge color for fall.
Here is the look from the back so you can see the length of the jacket. I’m wearing a medium, and it fits a tiny bit loose, but still good. I think this mustard color has sold out. The jacket photo is online, but it only shows a white one in stock. A white one would be more versatile, but I picked the mustard because I was looking forward to fall.
I added a Y Necklace in shades of navy and green. The necklace has silver beads, so I layered three Riveria Metal Stretch Bracelets. My earrings look great with this necklace; they are the Insley Hoop Earrings in Blue Lapis.
I love a solid white sneaker for spring and summer. The Puma Leather Sneaker is perfect for us ladies who tend to get their white shoes dirty. It is easy to wipe off the leather, and if the laces get too dingy, you can easily replace those. These sneakers run true to size, and I’m wearing my usual size 9.
I think this jumpsuit is an excellent lounging around the house outfit. That is why I styled it with two different shoes. If you’ve not heard about Recovery Slides, you will thank me later. You might have heard me complain (whine) that I have plantar fasciitis. I had been wearing Brooks sneakers with an insert to keep the pf from flaring up. My daughter had a pair of these recovery slides, and she suggested that I try a pair. OH, MY WORD! I love these not so pretty shoes. Lol! I wear them like I would houseshoes, and I swear my pf seems better. When I first started to wear them, they hurt my feet where the pf flares up. I kept wearing them though, thinking that they were touching me in a spot needing support. I’m not sure that is the case, but that was my thought. I ordered this light gray pair; the pretty colors hadn’t launched for spring when I got mine. It wasn’t long until Joe also wanted a pair, and I bought him the black pair. The slides run true to size; I’m wearing a men’s pair (size 7) since there was only black available in womens at that time.
Where would you wear this outfit? To a BBQ on Memorial Day or the 4th of July, to the park for a long walk, or maybe when you are on a long car ride and want to be comfortable?
My daughter wanted me to show you that the outfit was a jumpsuit. I couldn’t figure out how to “show” it was all in one piece, so I stuck my hands in the air to show the waist was connected. She thinks I’m crazy. Lol!
Be sure to let me know which parts you like in the outfit. If you don’t like a part of it, let me know why it doesn’t work for you.

I think this outfit is adorable. I spend a lot of time watching my Grandsons play baseball and this would be a great put together look for me to wear.
I’m interested in the jean jacket, but the link isn’t working.
I love reading your blog everyday and often order clothing based on what you model.
Betsy, this color has sold out and only white is left.
I wish I could wear a jumpsuit like that! I’m almost 5 foot 9 and very long waisted, so rarely can I find a jogger or anything like this to fit my legs. I’m not a yellow fan (for me) but hey, rock it! And enjoy that Date Night!
Most of the things you wear look good but this is awful. Looks like pajamas. It almost looks like you couldn’t decide if you wanted to work out or stay in your pajamas all day. This wouldn’t work at all for me. This is a big miss!
It seems to be “the way of the world” in most places anymore, to dress down and sometimes way down!
I always dress up though, date night or not, so I’m like you; usually feeling overdressed in comparison to most. I do it for me because I love having fun with clothes and curating my own style!
This outfit today would be a miss for me. I don’t wear jumpsuits for the same reason I don’t wear one piece bathing suits. It’s cute on you though and with the jacket (don’t particularly care for that color), it would be perfect for date night!
Sorry to say it’s a miss for me. Something about the jacket….just doesn’t seem to go with the outfit. And not liking the full blue bodysuit. But you look amazing as always!
I don’t hate this outfit, but I do hate that the tie at the waist isn’t the same color as the rest of the fabric. Draws the eye to the waist, which is not a good thing for many of us.
I do casual most of the time because I live in Las Vegas and it seems that the majority of people that I see out and about including on the strip are dressed that way. You look great as always and I love the denim linen jacket.
Yes, I would absolutely wear it. It looks very nice on you.
I love the outfit on you! The mustard jean jacket really makes a statement with the navy blue jumpsuit.
My husband says that wherever we go that I am the best-dressed woman there, meaning that I dress up anytime we go out for a date night: dinner, movie, concert, etc. My mother has always said that it is better to be overdressed than underdressed!
Super cute on you! I am thick around the waist, so don’t do drawstrings around my middle. Also not sure about the silhouette of the pants going down tight to the ankle. I’m looking at those slides, too!
I love jumpsuits, but this one would be a miss for me. I am not a fan of the banded hem.
Hey girl! I love this jumpsuit! Would you mind telling me what size you normally wear (8, 10?), that caused you to purchase a medium in this jumpsuit? Would you also share with me your height? Thanks so much!
Beth, I am 5’6″ tall, and I waver between an 8 and a 10. Lately, I’ve been wearing an 8, so that’s why I ordered a medium.
Love the jumpsuit with jacket-I’m just not a mustard color girl! 🙂
I forgot to ask who takes your pictures
Sometimes I take them with a tripod, and sometimes my daughter takes them.
Love the outfit I am starting to wear more jumpsuits especially when I go out. Where I live wearing a jumpsuit is dresser then most people wear. I hate to see people out on date night in a pair of short shorts and tank top , flip flops I wish I could include a picture of how my husband and I dressed our last date night I was I a black jumpsuit accented with pretty accessories and heels he was in a tie and dress slacks I like to look nice for him and him for me
Love this! Will be great for travel days. Ordered in black and will wear my jean jacket with it. Great option
I think you will be pleased with the jumpsuit.
I think jumpsuits are very cute, and very cute on you, but with a bladder condition,I would not wear one. Maybe not even if I didn’t have it, because I don’t like clothes that require me to disrobe and move jewelry around to use the bathroom. Lol (getting too practical as I enter my 50’s 😆)
I love the outfit; you look amazing! Good for you working so hard and it truly is showing in your pictures! I can’t wear most jumpsuits because I am long waisted, so I think it would pull too much in the crotch area, but it looks great on you! And I love the price point!
I shy away from jumpsuits because I am long waisted also, but this one was fine for me and even had enough length to have a small drape at the waist.
I love this look so much I ordered the jumpsuit right away. I hope that going to the bathroom part won’t irritate me too much. Since I can’t wear yellow near my face, I will wear my denim jacket or my navy knit jacket with it. And if it fits, it will probably go the beach with me next week, well, if it arrives in time.
Ginger, Amazon is usually very fast, so I bet it comes in time for your trip.
I love everything about this outfit and both shoes. Sad that the linen yellow is gone. That color would be my first choice as I like having a light something to put on going out to restaurants, church, or theater or whatever. These posts are really fun.
I dress up more than others every single day! My mom did the same. I love this outfit but I do not wear jumpsuits because I drink so much water. I can’t even imagine wearing one on a plane but I see it all the time and think “Ick”!
Lol! Cherie, your comment made me laugh. If I was flying on a LONG trip, then I wouldn’t choose it, but for a 3 or 4-hour flight it should be fine. I stop drinking water about 3 hours before I go on a flight.
The outfit is really cute! Will have to try on a jumpsuit again. (It has been since the late 70’s since I owned one!) I am a petite so it can be tricky and the banded leg likely won’t work but will check out something similar. Jacket elevates the look and it’s a great color.
The outfit is a Hit for me. I would definitely wear it for date night. Anything dressier would be considered too dressy in my area.
If you like the slides, you need to check the recovery sandal, clogs and slides from Oofos, so comfortable, many colors to choose from. Jumpsuit not so much for me, but looks great on you!
Like the denim jacket and accessories but the jumpsuit is a miss for me.
So enjoy your blogs!
I’m typically more dressed up than those around me. I live on the Gulf coast, very casual here!
I like the jumpsuit, but I probably wouldn’t wear it. Looks great on you!
You look great in this outfit and I like navy and mustard together. The denim jacket would be a Hit for me but a jumpsuit would be a Miss.
Great casual looking outfit, I would take ideas from that and do spin off outfit (as someone mentioned I remember jumpsuits from the eighties and wouldn’t do again). Also I think since the pandemic most everyone has gone casual dressing, sadly even date night.
I always thought jumpsuits didn’t look good on anyone, no matter their size, but you proved me wrong! This is an adorable outfit and I love the jean jacket too, color and all!
LOVE THIS OUTFIT!!! LOVE THE COLOR COMBO– Love the jumpsuit– but I will need to get onboard that new eating plan of yours to enable me to pull off this look. I love the jumpsuits– but right now– they don’t love me (aka extra weight in the mid section!) Good for you for achieving such a great, healthy weight. I need to do the same!
Definitely nicer dressed for date night. Like you. I tend to overdress… and like it! Even with Tees and jeans (of course jewelry), my husband thinks I’m dressed up lol!
I’d wear this outfit for around the house and errands. The Jean jacket makes it super cute!
It’s a miss for me. I don’t find jumpsuits to be flattering. I might try the slides.
P.S. this doesn’t save my info, even when I check the box.
I’m with you. I like to dress up when I go out. I would wear that jumpsuit around the house and out and about on weekends to run errands, etc…IF it fit me right. I usually have a problem with my thighs in pants like this. Also, I drink 2 litters of water a day, so the jumpsuit isn’t practical for me.😏. I like the jacket and would wear it if the color was right on me. My red head friends look GREAT in that color!
I drink a lot of water a day, except when I’m traveling. I’ve gotten really fast at shimming out of the jumpsuit. 🤣
What size is your jumpsuit? Cute!
I’m wearing a medium.
It’s a very nice casual outfit, especially with that jacket!
Very cute mustard color jacket. Works for spring and fall.
The outfit is super cute! And if I didn’t have a hang up with jumpsuits and the lack of ease when going to the restroom, I would so buy this. The best tip of the post is the Recovery Slides! I battle on and off again PF and have been looking for something good for walking around at home. If I am a half size, I wonder if I need to go up a size or down in the ladies? Love your posts!

It is a cute outfit! Looks very comfy. Do to some female issues, I would not be comfortable trying to get to THE bathroom quickly. Jump suits seem to be everywhere this year. I wore them in the 80’s
I think I’m too heavy for a jumpsuit but you look adorable! I also pee too much from all the water I drink to wear a jumpsuit 🤣. As an alumnae of The Ohio State University, I can’t bring myself to wear any version of yellow and blue together but it is a lovely combination. The jacket is great so that might get added to my wardrobe.
Love your blog!
I think I would wear it travelling. Not sure I would find a jumpsuit comfortable, more liekly to do jogging tousers and a polo shirt.
The jumpsuit and jacket suit you.
I’m a jean jacket girl and having one that is lightweight is a great option for summer.
Love this outfit. The jacket takes it up a notch. But I would wear it as is too. I’m happy you showed the slides. I have been looking at these and the Oofas (sp), also recovery slides.
