As promised – more posts for Petites! Today I’m showing you some great jeans for adding height, plus they are super cute! Whether you find yourself in the “petite” category, (5’4″ or shorter), or you just want to elongate your look, these jeans are for you.

You might want also to check out my 8 Styles of Tops Perfect for Petites post and find some tops to go with these jeans.

All of these pictured are high-waisted or mid-high-waisted to elongate the torso.

Cropped 5 Pocket Jean

Yes, you can wear cropped jeans if you’re petite! It will be all about where the hem hits your ankle.

If you have long legs the best place for your capris to hit is around the ankle. This length helps you look longer no matter how tall you are. If you have shorter legs with a longer torso, then you are going to want to choose a shorter style of cropped pants.

These are simple and flattering.

Hudson High-Rise Crop Jeans

These are a darker wash which I prefer. They claim to be bootcut, but I think of them as straight leg. I love how they’re paired with a low heel. Very chic!

NYDJ Skinny Jeans

Yes, Gurls…skinny jeans are back! (Did they ever really leave?) These hit right at the ankle for those of you with longer legs and shorter torsos.

Levi’s Skinny Jeans

You can’t go wrong with Levi’s! I’m a big fan of the ripped knees, but there are other options/colors at the link.

High-Rise Flare

I LOVE flare jeans! Maybe it’s because I grew up in the 70s, but this style has always appealed to me. The high waist makes these jeans perfect for adding height.

Loft Let Down Hem

Ann Taylor Loft always does a petite girl proud. The hem really separates these from the typical pair of jeans.

White Frayed Hem Jeans

Thank you again, Ann Taylor Loft! If these white frayed hem jeans don’t say “summer”, I don’t know what else does. LOVE!

Dark Wash Boot Cut

When I think of great jeans for adding height – I think of dark wash and boot cut. My sister is 5’2″ and these are her “go-to” jeans. They are billed as flare jeans, but they look like the quintessential boot cut to me.

NYDJ Straight Cut Jeans

I couldn’t leave you straight-cut jeans lovers out! I like the simplicity of the cut and color here. And if the length of the hem hits too far down your leg, these would be easy to cuff. These come in a huge variety of colors and washes.

What do you think, gurls? Are you ready to update your closet with some of these new looks? Let me know which ones you’re going with. I like them all!

  1. Thank you Tania for sharing these petite options! I am 5’1, barely . lol 😂 I love all your posts, you are beautiful!

  2. I’m 5’2 and bootcut jeans do make my legs look longer. I also think high waisted wide leg jeans make my legs look longer too if they’re fitted in rear and hips. Loft is my go-to for wide leg and flare jeans and pants. They’re a true petite inseam of 28.5″. I don’t have to pay for alterations. Skinny jeans do nothing for me. They show the exact shape and length of my short legs. Maybe because I was a teenager and young adult in the 70’s I am drawn to wide leg and flare jeans. I do like straight leg jeans but my eye has adjusted to a wider leg.

  3. I couldn’t resist and bought the Lee Women’s Petite Regular Fit Bootcut Jean. I’m always on the lookout for great deals on petite-sized jeans. Thank you for posting more on Petites!

  4. Hi! I’m 5’ 3” and I NEVER wear high waisted jeans. Even if they are for “petites,” they always touch my boobs when I sit down. High waisted jeans are very uncomfortable, they fight my ribs for space, rubbing up against the bottom of my ribs and/or boobs when I am in a seated position and only elongate a petite person when they are standing up. Sorry, I won’t buy high waisted jeans.

  5. Have you ever tried on Democracy Jeans ? I buy them at Nordstrom Rack for a good price and the fit is incredible!

    1. I had one pair of white jeans that were Democracy Jeans, and I liked them too.

  6. Thanks for the tips on jeans. I am definitely needing some new ones for Fall.
