I GOT MY “BLUE DRESS ON”
I keep singing, “Devil With A Blue Dress On,” and it is making it hard to concentrate of a blog post. I have changed the words just a little to the song. I am now singing, “Tania With A Blue Dress On!” Lol! I bet you’ve got this song stuck in your mind now. Haha
I have been listening to a lot of country music lately. I am getting psyched up for the upcoming Pepsi Gulf Coast Jam in Panama City. Several of you have mentioned that you live in Florida, so this would be a perfect time for me to meet you. Be sure to enter the contest to win the tickets I will be giving way. I will announce the details on Friday, so be sure to check that blog post out.
I wore this dress to church a couple Sundays ago. You won’t believe how old this dress is, and the fact that it has never been worn. I bought this dress at least 12 years ago, at a little boutique in town. I LOVED the dress, but I didn’t wear it right off. Then guess what! It became too snug for me. Don’t you just hate when stuff like that happens? I have hung on to the dress all these years because I thought it was so pretty. And now finally, it fits and I am not sure I really like the dress after all. Lol!
I love the color! I love the small design in the material, and I really love the chain link neckline. But, I am just not “wild” about the way it looks on me. It is okay, but I have seen better. The tag on the dress says Chetta B, and truthfully I had never heard of that brand. But, after searching online for similar dresses, this is a gorgeous line of clothing.
Chetta B Dress: Eyelet | Print Sateen | Plus Ombre | Plus Lace
If you noticed the photo above, I did not have on a necklace. The neckline is pretty enough that you do not have to wear a necklace. However, I put on this Plunder piece that I got a week ago, and I loved it with the dress. This necklace is called the Paxton. I really like this necklace, I am crazy about the clock face. No, the clock does not work, but that would have been cool if it had.
I noticed when I looked at these pictures, that I have the right side of the necklace twisted, It is not hanging correctly. Whoops, sorry. Both sides look identical when you put it on correctly. Haha The watch face has a saying, “Live every moment, Love beyond measure.” This is one gorgeous statement necklace, and it is only 36.00.
I let Joe pick out my shoes for this look. I tried on three different pairs, and this is the one he chose. They are a new pair that I bought at the QVC overstock outlet store. I think I bought these when they were having the 15.00 open-toe shoe sale. These silver metallic sandals are by Marc Fisher. Metallics are still really popular, and they look great at parties.
There is not a lot of pieces to this look. That is the thing about a dress, you just have to pick out one item. I could have added a cardigan, but with this gorgeous neckline, that would have just been WRONG! I am wearing a silver dogwood bracelet that I bought when I attend the GFWC Virginia’s Conference in Williamsburg, and I am also wearing the Edith bracelet from Plunder. I have an August contest running with Plunder. EVERYONE who places an order from Plunder through me in the month of August, will be entered in for a $25.00 Plunder gift certificate. You can buy a bracelet, and you will be entered into the contest. To shop with me, here is the website: http://www.plunderdesign.com/taniastephens Try copying and pasting this in the address line, and hopefully it will work. If not, then type in my stylist number 241007 in the stylist box at checkout. I have started an online party, and there is a dropdown box where you can choose Tania’s P Party at checkout also. Nice color on you! I also have kept clothes through the years that with tags not worn since too tight but never returned. Then when dropping some weight, I slid into them easily and said “what was I thinking?” Not keepers at all and went Into the donation pile. Hopefully you can make this one work since it looks cute.
Have a great day!

It looks really nice, Tania! You and a blue dress with silver sandals makes my heart sing! You’ll be very glad you kept it all these years someday. Thanks for the uplift. Debs
This dress is way to pretty to let it hang in the closet. Beautiful chain neckline!

Great color on you Tania. I think the dress is lovely in you. I went to church with Eric Church years ago in a town called Granite Falls, NC where he grew up at. He has a sweet family. He is a little younger than I am so he probably wouldn’t remember me. I will never forget him singing .”Friends” by Michael J. Smith in church and he also sang with his siblings. He has a younger brother and younger sister….beautiful family. Then…..wa la, he became a famous country music star. I know you will have a blast Labor Day weekend. ~Lisa~
Wow! That is crazy Lisa. How cool to have a little background on someone who is no famous. Be sure to enter the contest, and maybe you will get to see him.
I am looking forward to reading your blog after you come back. You will have a blast.
What a gorgeous dress, the colour against your tan looks stunning and the neckline is so unusual. Maybe you’re not crazy about it because it’s a little bit longer than you usually wear your shift dresses? You could always have it taken up just an inch… Loving the necklace too!
I found someone to do alterations, finally. I may have to do that.
I have to agree, the dress is wonderful! The color, the style! Looks great! I think you would like it better, just a touch shorter. I also love the sandals, I;m just not sure I like them with this dress, but what do I know. I love your style and reading your blog! You inspire me to stretch beyond what I am comfortable with.
Your talent for a hook opener in your posts is crazy! As to the dress, if you ask me (you did, didn’t you?), you are too harsh a critic on yourself. You look stunning in that color and the neckline is fabulous as is the whole look. I hope you get a ton more wear out of the dress now that it fits again (and kudos on that accomplishment, too).
