Some of you might have noticed a little something different in my pictures. It is not everyday that I wear pink hair, but I do get pink highlights almost every October.I have mentioned before that I am a woman’s club member. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and one of the events my club participates in, is called Bras for a Cause. Our club organizes “Ladies Night Out”, a free event for women in or community. We provide food, local trade school students preform hot wax hand treatments and they polish fingernails, Relay for Life gives an informative program on breast cancer, and vendors set up for shopping opportunities. We invite businesses, churches, and individuals to decorate bras, and enter them for a chance to win a gift card prize. The entry fee to enter a bra is 10.00, and goes toward our club’s Relay For Life Sponsorship. My hairdresser set up this year and put in pink highlights for those who wanted them. These actually glue in, and they usually last the entire month. They are human hair, so you wash and style them as you would normally.I bought this gorgeous necklace and earring set at the event. I love the pink color! Having pink put in my hair is a very small gesture, but every time someone comments on the color, I take the opportunity to mention October being Breast Cancer Awareness Month. I’ve scheduled my mammogram, have you had yours? If not, schedule one today.
