Mary Jane Shoes Are Trending This Fall
Square-toed shoes have a unique, modern look with their sharp, squared-off toe, which sets them apart from the usual rounded or pointed styles. Whether you’re rocking them with jeans or a dress, square-toed shoes add a cool, contemporary touch to any outfit. They’re surprisingly comfortable, giving your toes a bit more room to breathe.
These fiery red Mary Jane flats are so stinking cute!!! They would probably look cuter if I had buckled the strap. Lol! They have a square toe, which is super popular this fall. These are feminine and can be worn with dresses as well as jeans. Wearing red shoes might be out of your comfort zone, but don’t fret since these are also available in black and vanilla. This is a great way to incorporate the Mary Jane shoe trend into your wardrobe and look modern and fresh.
Chunky Heel Mary Janes
These black Mary Janes with chunky heels are way cooler than the ones I used to wear to church, Gurls! I love how they incorporate a touch of retro style. The thick heel gives you that extra height without the foot pain that comes with high heels, and the buckle strap keeps them securely on your feet. These are perfect for pairing with trousers or a chic outfit for a night out. And can we talk about the versatility? Whether you’re heading to dinner or the office, these little black shoes are sure to be a staple in your closet.
Flat Mary Jane Shoes
Now, these brown Mary Jane flats are all about comfort and style! If you’re someone who’s always on the go, these are your new best friend. They have a soft fabric and a flexible sole for more comfortable walking. Hey, you can’t wear sneakers every day. Plus, the classic brown color is so easy to pair with everything from jeans to skirts. I think these would be perfect for those days when you want to keep it casual but still look put together. And for those of us who are always battling blisters, the arch-supporting footbed is a lifesaver! Ballet flats are huge and on-trend.
These Sam Edelman nude Mary Janes are too cute! The nude color is fantastic for elongating the leg, especially when you’re wearing a dress or skirt. These have a slender heel that’s just the right height for adding a little elegance without compromising on comfort. The patent leather finish gives them that extra bit of polish, making them perfect for weddings, parties, or even a fancy dinner date with Joe! And don’t you love how they can match any outfit in your wardrobe? A true closet staple.
Unique Mary Jane Shoes
Now, here’s a pair of Mary Janes that really caught my eye—tweed fabric, how unique! These are the kind of shoes that scream ‘fall fashion.’ I can picture myself wearing these with a cozy sweater and some blue denim. The tweed adds a bit of texture and interest, and the flat sole means you can wear them all day. These shoes are perfect for those days when you want to look stylish without trying too hard. Plus, the cute little strap ties the whole look together!
Mary Jane shoes don’t have to be boring! These dotted Mary Jane flats are adorable and are perfect for the moto shoe trend. If you’re looking for something fun and playful, this pair is for you. The polka dots add a dash of whimsy, and the flat sole means you can wear them all day without a care in the world. I can see myself chasing after the grandkids in these! They’d look darling with a casual outfit, like jeans and a comfy top. And don’t forget, Gurls, flats like these are perfect for adding a bit of flair to your everyday footwear rotation.
Modern Mary Jane Shoes
For my Gurls who love a sleek and sophisticated look, these black pointy Mary Janes are just the ticket! The pointed toe gives them a modern edge, and the buckled strap adds a touch of classic charm. These shoes are perfect for when you want to elevate your outfit without wearing full-on high heels. I think they’d be a great choice for a night out with the hubby or even a meeting where you want to feel confident and stylish. Plus, that black color is timeless—these will never go out of trend!
Again, NOT boring. These Mary Jane mules are from Naturalizer, a brand known for comfort. They’re like the perfect marriage between sandals and Mary Janes, with an open back that makes them super easy to slip on and off. The footbed is cushioned and supportive, making them good for those long days on your feet. And the neutral color means they’ll go with just about anything in your closet. A true win-win!
High Heel Mary Jane Shoes
These Adrienne Vittadini Mary Jane slingback pumps just scream elegance, if elegance screamed, lol. The slingback design adds a touch of sophistication, and the heel height is perfect for adding a bit of lift without sacrificing comfort. I love the idea of wearing these to a special event. The sleek design and chic look make them a standout piece in any shoe collection. Plus, the strap means they stay put while you’re dancing the night away!
Last but not least, these very high Mary Jane pumps from New York and Company are for my Gurls who aren’t afraid of a little height! These shoes are all about making a statement. The high heel gives you legs for days, and the buckled strap adds that classic Mary Jane charm. I’d suggest wearing these with a dress or skirt for a night out on the town. Just be sure to take it slow if you’re not used to wearing such high heels—they’re worth the extra effort!

I am already on your mail list. I love all the up-to-dates on women’s clothing and your modelling of them and the references from scripture. You are a very nice lady!
I love the Chunky Heel Mary Janes. I used to have a pair of high heel Mary Janes when I was in my early 20s, now in my 60s I willV only wear low heels, LOL.
Just bought a pair of red Mary Jane’s! So fun and unexpected!
Love the Maryjane shoe trend, going to wear them in red this fall.
The heel Mary Jane’s really bring back memories. So cute. I would probably go for a more modern with the pointier toe.
I am a huge mary janes fan and I love all these!
The tweed and the mary Jane mules are my favorite!
Gosh, I haven’t had a pair of Mary Janes in years and years! I do like the look of the heeled shoes! Might have to give those a try!
Mary Jane has grown up, hasn’t she? Love those red ones and the tweed ones!
Hello
your DAUGHTER IN LAW is gorgeous!!!!!!!
I think so too!
I’ve warmed up to Mary Jane’s. I like the square toe and pointed toe ones. They don’t look juvenile. By the way the Clark’s loafers from QVC fit great. They are so comfortable and feel like a sneaker.
They are crazy comfortable!
I had patent black Mary Janes shoes as a young adult, don’t know if they still would look good on my older feet
I have always liked Mary Jane shoes. These are super cute. I love the red ones!!!
I love the square toe Mary Jane’s. I have 2 pairs right now; brown and black. A red pair is definitely in my future.
I have always loved red shoes!
Happy Birthday to your DIL! Her hair is beautiful. I really want to try to add a pair of Mary Jane’s to my closet, if I can find a pair that works with my finicky feet. I am going to check out the pair from Naturalizer.
So cute!! You picked all the most adorable shoes!
Love the Maryjane’s. So cute. The red ones have my name on them. Thanks for sharing. Your DIL is adorable!!!
Yes, I remember my Mary Janes very well. I always had a black pair and in middle school in the late 50’s I had a pair of white patent Mary Janes. Glad to see they are trending.
Your DIL is beautiful!
Tania, I grew up in the Church of Christ in Ontario Canada! I’m glad we have this connection. Love the red shoes. Enjoy the rest of your day, back to school today for three of my Grandchildren.
Have you tried the Vivaia brand (they have some cute Mary Janes) that I see advertised? I’d love to know if they live up to the hype I see on line.
I’ve never tried that brand before.
Love how the Mary Jane style is back. So stylish and comfy. Thanks Tania for the inspiration.
I’m leaving them in the past…I just can’t get the “old lady” look out of my head, lol. These were the type of shoes my mom and grandma wore from a brand that didn’t hurt their feet. I’ll admit there are some cute ones but I just can’t! 😂
Lol!!!
I had a pair of red Mary Jane’s when I was 5 or 6 back in the 60’s. The insides had red polka dots and I just loved them! I was only allowed to wear them for church. I just recently bought a pair from Rothy’s. They are black with a basketweave like texture and so comfy. I really like the tweed Bandolino’s. Great color for fall as you said. Would look good next spring too. Hope the style is still current then!
Psalm 94:19 was the verse I needed this morning! I’m still at home after a month past my hip replacement. I just clicked on your link and ordered the red Mary Janes from Nordstrom!
Meta Guin, hip replacement isn’t fun, but I bet you’ll be glad you did it later.
Love the style just worried about flats because of my plantar fasciitis!
I haven’t had any issues with them. But, my HOKA recovery slides pretty much took care of my plantar fasciitis.
I love all of the flat shoes
CUTE!!!!
I also have a beautiful redhead DIL and she, like yours, is the best thing that ever happened to our son! (not to mention our handsome two grandsons they have!) Not feeling the Mary James tho…..
Definitely need flats these days. Nice options.
