FALL MAKEUP FOR WOMEN OVER 50 FROM WALMART
I love trying lots of different makeup each month. My skin tone changes with the seasons, so I like updating my makeup. If I don’t try new things, then I cannot know what products I like best. But I don’t want to spend a fortune, so getting my beauty items from Walmart is smart.
I ordered two Revlon Colorstay Longwear Makeup in the same shade because I wasn’t sure which would be best for my skin type. I ended up liking the Normal/Dry in 320 True Beige since my skin runs on the dry side. If you have Combination/Oily skin, then you might like the other version best.
Look at the difference in how my skin looks. It evened out the tone of my skin and took away the redness and blotchiness.
I still need a little help with hiding the dark circles under my eyes. I started using the Revlon ColorStay Skin Awaken Concealer in 025 Light Beige last month, and I’m still loving it.
It is so easy to use! I love the applicator that is precise and easily blends the concealer into my foundation.
I was looking for a daytime eyeshadow compact that I can throw in my handbag for quick touchups.
The Maybelline Expert Wear Eyeshadow Quads in Mocha Motion was a great choice since it is subtle enough for daytime wear. I took a magic marker and wrote on the case where each eyeshadow is to be used.
The compact comes with an applicator, but I used a few brushes I already owned to apply the shadow. I start with the base color and cover the entire lid to the eyebrow.
Then, I apply the lid color up to the crease line.
I use a smaller brush to apply the crease color in a sweeping motion. This shadow is silky and applied easily. I didn’t have any fallout or flaking, so that is a plus.
Finally, I use the darkest color as an undereye liner. I also will use this color on the outside corners of my eye, making sure to connect the top and bottom.
Using the eyeshadow as eyeliner is perfect for daytime, but at night or for an event, I want a bolder look. I ordered the Revlon ColorStay Line Creator Double-Ended Liner because of the two different ways of applying the liner.
One end of the eyeliner is a Kohl pencil. This applied without tugging or pulling and lasted all day.
I’m not used to using liquid eyeliner, so I might have a small learning curve. The reason I wanted to try the liquid eyeliner is that it draws sharp, thin to bold graphic lines.
Can you tell the difference between the Kohl pencil and the liquid eyeliner? The pencil is on the left, and the liquid liner is on the right. I am planning on dressing up as a witch for Halloween to hand out candy, and I want to use the liquid liner for a dramatic look. Since both ends are waterproof, my look should last all day and into the night.
To brighten up my eyes, I used a trick I’ve used for years. The COVERGIRL Perfect Point Plus Eyeliner in White Out can bring your eyes to life when applied to the waterline of your eyes.
It is a subtle difference, but can you see the white draws attention to my eyes?
The Revlon ColorStay Waterproof Longwearing Eyebrow Pencil in Blonde is another product I started using last month. I’ve been using this everyday since I bought it, and I love how my brows look.
To set the color and keep the hairs from moving around and getting all wonky, I’ve been using NYX Professional Makeup Control Freak Eyebrow Gel in Clear.
After your eyebrows are filled and colored in, then lightly go over them with the clear gel and let them dry. They’ll stay in place all day and night.
I like using an eyelash primer, but the one I had been using was so expensive. So, I grabbed the L’Oreal Paris Voluminous Mascara Primer White Primer, and it is under $9!
When you apply the eyelashes primer, it is white. You let it set until it turns clear, and then you add your mascara.
Now that the primer is clear, I’m going to use Revlon So Fierce! Eyes Wide Open Mascara in Blackest Black.
WOAH! The description said that the “Push Up Brush grips the tiniest of lashes to lift and volumize the lashes,” and I am a believer!
I look a little pale without any blush. The baked blushes intrigue me, so I decided to try the Milani Baked Blush, Corallina.
This is a great pigmented blush, so apply lightly, to begin with. I’ve tried blushes like this before that weren’t pigmented, so I swirled my brush and loaded it heavily with the product. I ended up having to blend and blend to try and get the color I wanted. When using this blush, less is more.
Here is another highly pigmented product. The MILANI Color Fetish Matte Lipstick in Dahlia is GORGEOUS!!!
This matte lipstick isn’t drying and is very creamy and velvety feeling. I’ll be wearing this for date nights and holiday parties, but it is a bit too bold for my everyday look.
I prefer a lip stain instead of lipstick, especially for every day. I don’t like reapplying my lipstick, so a lip stain works best for me. The lip stain is Maybelline Super Stay Vinyl Ink in Lippy. It is still bold, but not quite as bold as the Melani Dahlia lipstick.
I’m happy with this month’s Walmart Beauty products haul, and the best part is that they are all available online from Walmart. You can check out last month’s beauty haul on makeup and nail trends by clicking HERE.
Walmart makes it very convenient for its customers to shop, especially since most people have a store within 10 miles of their homes. You can also sign up for Walmart+, where you get Free Shipping with no order minimums (excludes most Marketplace items, location & freight surcharges) and Free Delivery (where available) with orders over $35. I take advantage of home delivery several times a week and love that small convenience.
Walmart sponsors this post, and I will receive compensation, but the opinions expressed are my own.

Love the make-up recommendations from this blog. Also, appreciate that they are not expensive from Wal-Mart yet look amazing! I will be trying some of these.
I love your fall cosmetics from Walmart instructional exercise. Your cosmetics generally look so refined. I requested concealer, eye shadow, and mascara.
Thanks for the tips. The mascara looks amazing on you and I love the Maybelline Expert Wear Eyeshadow Quads in Mocha Motion.
Thank you for the many pictures along with the detailed directions. I especially appreciate how you labeled the eye shadow palette!
I loved your makeup review. I agree that our skin tone changes all the time. For that reason. I don’t want to spend a lot of money on foundation to use only a few months. Thanks for taking the time to review these products.
Your makeup tutorial was very helpful. I will definitely try the lipstick stain and a couple of the eye products. You look amazing and I love your hairstyle. What is the hairstyle called?
I will definitely try the Maybelline vinyl ink. I’ve been searching for a long wearing lip color.
I love the Maybelline Vinyl lipstick. Stays on all day without drying the lips. First one that I’ve found that doesn’t dry my lips out. Highly recommend. Colors are intense but not overpowering.
Printed pants…they look adorable on you! I’m not sure I would wear them as body type is something to consider when wearing bright colors/patterns… as more is not always best.
I’m going to try some of the eye makeup products. I put some in my cart to order while some can be picked up in the store. We have a Walmart about 15 minutes away so it’s very handy. Foundation never stays on so I seldom wear any. Thanks for all the tips along with the products. You look great!
I love your fall makeup from Walmart tutorial. Your makeup always looks so sophisticated. I ordered the concealer, eye shadow and mascara. I can’t wait to try them!
Hi… I love seeing more reasonable makeup products. Thank you for trying them.
Question… dare I ask this but…do you shave your facial fuzz? I have notice as I am getting older I have some fuzz. I just don’t know what to do or who to trust. Your thoughts are appreciated.
Lurania, I have used a Dermaplane before, but my blonde hair doesn’t show, so I hardly ever do that.
Love the look the mascara gave your lashes. Your eye color is beautiful!
Love the revlon colorstay makeup, I started using it a year ago. I also liked how you wrote on the eye shadow cover wear the color goes. 🙂 you look beautiful at the end of the post, well I mean more beautiful!
I’m going to purchase some of these products. You made a believer out of me. You look so pretty
Loved this post, especially all the tips!
Fir example, labeling the eye
compact!
Thank you for sharing affordable options for skincare. I will try some of these products.
The white pencil at the water line really does make your eyes stand out. Thank you for sharing this tip.
I have recently started to use a new to me makeup brand called Seint. It is formulated for women over 50, and I love it!!! If you want to check it out, search for Marcy Jo Dixon on either facebook or Instagram. She is awesome, think you will like her.
A lovely fall look.
Love your tips! If we lived closer, I’d want to hang out with you!
Lots of great options here. I’m going to try a few too. Thanks for your research.
So pretty!! Love the finished look:) I think I will need to try the brow pencil and gel.
I love Milani blush! I’m always looking for cheaper products these days.
Thanks for introducing so many products. I wear little makeup but am inspired to try several of these.
You look beautiful with your new makeup! And that nail polish color is gorgeous. Oh how I wish that I could wear makeup and that I had eyebrows. The short version of why I can’t is that I am really allergic to some strange & complicated things that require me to find out all of the contents of, not only the product, but also the packaging, to keep me from having a reaction. And there are no shots for these allergies. Since I hate doing research, I take the easy route and don’t wear makeup.
Wonderful tips for those of us that love to experiment and don’t want to spend a fortune!
Thanks
Great step by step instructions and product review! Thank you. You looked great in everything, but the lip colors were really pretty on you. I love to see a red lip but need to find the right one for my pale skin tone. I think you also have to have the right occasion to wear it.
Thank you for posting these products that we can buy at Wal Mart. I am definitely going to check some of them out the next time I am in the store, which is about 45 minutes from us. I always look forward to your daily blog!
Love the look of your Walmart makeup, but anytime I go off track from my usual Seint makeup, problems with my skin occur. Thanks fir sharing.
lots of great new ideas in makeup, I am definitely going to try some of these!
This was a cool post….the labels on the eye shadow was really helpful. I guess the same goes if its another color pallet?
Since Covid I find I’m too lazy to do makeup. I feel I gave up. Seeing your end results I know it would be a confidence booster to put some makeup on when going out. You look fab!
Thank you for your makeup tips and explanation, Tania. I’m going to Walmart today to check out OPI, Revlon, and Cover Girl. I need to try theses items. Thank you!!
Very pretty! Nice to have options.
I get nervous about trying new makeup since I have my tried and true products, but I do feel like I sometimes get into a rut. Since the price point is so reasonable, I’m going to try a couple of the products to start with. Your end result was stunning!
Thanks Tanya
I liked this post makeup looks great!
Thank you for trying all price point items. I like the Revlon eye brow pencil too. I just got it last week to try.
Thank you for the makeup tips. You look so young.
