EMPTY OR FULL
Last Sunday was Easter and the tomb was found to be empty. Most of the time when you think about things being empty it is not associated with something good. The half empty glass is used to describe someone who is a pessimist. This person is a Negative Nellie and looks for the worst possible outcome. This is all just a person’s perspective and nothing based on reality.
What about empty promises? I think we have all seen commercials that promise you the moon for the low, low, price of 9.99. PLUS, if you call now you will get double the empty promises. Worthless, meaningless, and empty. These promises are not based on fact. They take advantage of people’s dreams and hopes and desires. They take advantage of those who are searching for something better.
I’ll love you forever. I will never let you down. If you eat of this fruit you will become as God. What kind of promises has satan told us? He will be that little voice in your head telling you that you are not good enough. He will tell you that you are not loved. He will tell you that the Lord will forsake you.
In Luke 24: 46 it tells that, “The Messiah will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day.” That was a promise! When the women arrived at the grave they found the stone to have been rolled away from the grave. Why were they even going to the grave? They had spices to anoint Jesus’s body but how did they think they were going to be able to do that? How did they think they could get passed the stone blocking the entrance? They had heard the promises that Jesus would arise on the third day and they BELIEVED! They knew that it was not an empty promise.
Can you imagine how they felt to find an empty tomb? They might have been worried and thinking that someone had stolen the body or maybe they were happy and thinking that He had risen.
This is the one time that I am thankful for the emptiness. Because the tomb was found to be empty my soul can be full. My dreams, hopes, and desires are not founded on empty promises but on the Lord’s word. Jesus’s fulfillment of God’s plan from the cross to the grave to finally to His ascension gave me a chance to spend eternity in Heaven.
The next time you see a half empty glass just smile and thank the Lord for the emptiness.
Have a Blessed Day!
That was awesome, faith!!
I appreciate that you share a faith-based post on Sunday’s. Praise the Lord for the empty tomb. On another topic — I’m doing a little pre-packing planning for a trip to California next month. I’m quite the ‘lister’ when it comes to travel itineraries and wardrobes. I thought you might find it amusing that my pre-planning ‘lists’ includes photos from your blog to remind me of how to style my outfits. I’ve got at least 20 Tania pics all in a row to guide me. Thanks for the spiritual and fashion inspiration.
Beautiful! Such a great perspective to begin a new day and week ahead. Thank you. Blessings!
Yes, praise the Lord for that empty tomb! Thank you for sharing that new perspective on emptiness.
Beautifully said! Thank you
Wonderful, you preach it girl. Fantastic that you set Sundays apart to help refresh/refill the spirit. Thanks for using your platform where it really counts. God Bless
Sundays are my favorite posts. They are meant for “me” but I hope others like them also.
This is a wonderful message this morning. I’m so thankful they found the tomb to be empty and we have a Savior who loves us this much. Have a wonderful week! ?
What a great message! Thank you. Traveling graces to you. Peace and blessings!
It must be a great thing to believe! I dont. But sometimes I miss it and wished I was rased believing in a God. I think that can make life easier sometimes and can keep you from making mistakes. Happy Sunday!
It’s never too late to believe, Nancy. God is the same, even when we make mistakes, He is still there.
Nancy, we all believe in something. Some people choose to believe in their own strength or goodness, and others choose to believe in God. I was a young adult when I was introduced to Jesus of the Bible and after studying the book of John in the Bible, I believed that Jesus is who He said He is, and trusted Him to save me (John 3:16). I believe that knowing Jesus does make life easier because He gives us wisdom and strength to live a life of true goodness and kindness. We still do make mistakes, but He forgives us, and helps us to desire a better life than we would have without Him. Plus the promise of eternity with Him as Tania said.
Love this! ? Such a great outlook!
