DRESSY OR CASUAL, THIS LINEN SWEATER CAN BE WORN EITHER WAY
Want to go on a walk with me today? Kayla and I found the perfect spot for taking photos today, and there was no a single person around. It was so much easier taking photos when no one was staring at you or watching you change clothes. Lol! We started the day with the gorgeous linen and cotton sweater that can be styled dressy or casual.
This is on the top of a mountain where I live, and the views are so pretty here. Maybe in the future, we will take some photos of the scenery, or maybe an Elk or two. They roam wild up here, and you can spot them when you are driving to this location. We didn’t spot any wildlife today; they were probably all hiding their eyes while I was changing clothes. Lol!
Look at this old split-rail fence! I love this fence line, and I thought it made the perfect backdrop for my linen and cotton sleeveless sweater. This lightweight sweater is perfect for every season since it can be layered under a jacket or cardigan. The sweater has a deep v-neck, but you can add a camisole under it if the V is too deep.
This neutral color does not make a huge statement, but it is perfect for wearing repeatedly. I love the shaker-stitch and open weave material of the sweater, and I think this will be a sweater that you can wear even in the middle of summer. This sweater runs large, in my opinion. I am wearing a size medium, and I think that it is still too big for me.
Here is a photo that shows the side split and how long the sweater is in the back. It will cover your rear if you wear it with a pair of jeggings or leggings.
These crop ankle jeans from Walmart can be worn dressy or casual also. These jeans have a slight flare to the hem and a small amount of distressing. These jeans come in a couple of different colors, but the color that I am wearing is called Libby. These jeans remind me of a white pair I have from J Crew, and they are a pair of my favorite white jeans. Here is a post where I wore the white jeans, and it is one of my favorite outfits.
I am wearing my usual size 10 in these trendy flare crops, and they fit me great. If you want to try this trend but not spend a ton of money, these jeans are only $26.00. I’ll link to a few more options for you, but this is a fun trend to wear, especially in the spring and summer months.
I have wanted to wear these sandals for a long time, but I wanted to wait until I got a pedicure. Oh well, I decided to go ahead and wear them since I might never get a pedicure at this rate. Other than my ugly toes, these leather and canvas sandals are pretty awesome. I thought they were the perfect neutral sandal that could go with anything, especially my new Tory Burch handbag.
I love the light canvas color against the leather trim, and I think it is very classy looking. The shoes run true to size, and I am wearing my usual size 9. I will give you a heads up, though; these are pricey. I bought mine when they were on sale, but I noticed that the sale has ended. If you like them, click the heart to get an email notification when they are on sale again. This is a great feature that you should use to your advantage.
So, I decided to change my shoes, my handbag, and add a black jacket to my look and see if it dressed up the look.
I have to admit; I like this dressier look. It is dressy/casual in my book, and I think it is great for a date night, a girl’s lunch, or even going to the doctor.
This black jacket is a great lightweight jacket that isn’t too hot for this time of the year. I like the two-button closure, although I hardly ever button a jacket when I am wearing it. I played with the shadows so you could see the details of the jacket, but it made the jacket look motley, and it is not at all.
I’ve had this blazer for a while, and this one is a twill material. I found one by the same brand on the website currently, and it has the same two-button closure, the same front pockets, but it looks a little longer than the one that I am wearing. The blazer is under $35.00, so it is very affordable.
I loved the look of these two-tone studded heels. The neutral color is fabulous, but the fact that they are by Rockport is what sold me on them. Rockport is known for its comfort level, and if you are going to wear high heels, you need all of the comforts you can get.
These have a 3″ heel and a pointy toe. They have been on sale for a bit, so they are limited in sizes. The sale is for 30% off 1 or 40% off 2 pairs of shoes. Here are some similar shoes in case your size is already sold out.
I even liked how these shoes looked from the bottom. Lol!
You won’t believe where I purchased this quilted handbag or the price. It looks so pretty, and it looks very expensive. That should be a clue for you that it is affordable. I love the look of the quilted bag, but I am not a fan of the gold C. If your name starts with a C, this would be a great item. I would carry the other side showing which is plain instead.
This handbag is only $19.99!!! However, the black is sold out already, but it is available in navy, red and taupe.
These Natalie basketweave gold hoop earrings make a big statement. The earrings have a bohemian style to me, and I love the large size. The earrings are lightweight for their size, probably because of the cutout design.
The Ryder multi-chain necklace is NOT lightweight, but it does make a huge statement! I wear this necklace a lot since it goes with silver or gold, and it looks great with almost everything!
My Quay sunglasses added some protection from the sun and a little style also. You hardly ever see me wearing sunglasses since the sun doesn’t shine on my front porch. Lol!
It doesn’t matter if you like the casual look or the dressy look; the sweater works for both.

Love the the 2nd look! Those heels are fantastic and I need to order them!
Cute,cute, cute! Love it!!
Love the sweater and the black blazer and the jewelry. I think I have a similar pair of the jeans. I don’t believe I could wear the heels even if they are Rockport although I love that brand.
Lol! I don’t know, Cheryl, Rockport is a pretty comfortable brand. Lol!
I like the jacket with the sleeveless sweater. It looks very confident and put together but effortlessly.
I’m encouraged by seeing you in these jeans. I have big calves (think wide calf boots) and you’ve given me hope! Love the shoes!
Love the casual and dressy styling of the basic pieces of this outfit. I can see myself wearing both of these. The shoe choices are fabulous also!
I love the sweater but I am not sure I would be comfortable wearing it. I am of the age where I despise my arms. Creepy skin and am super self consciousnes. Could wear a jacket now but not in the summer
Maribeth, my arms probably look like yours. But, I have come to terms with them and I don’t care for other to see them.
Love the knit top and sandals.
Love this outfit. I did not know rockport made such stylish shoes. And I love the bag!
I know!!! I was shocked when I saw the brand!
