Before we start talking about the feminine and flirty dresses that I will show you today, let’s talk about yesterday’s post. I hope that you saw that post, but if not, you need to check it out. It was a lot of fun, and I loved reading all of your comments about Joe’s ability to pick out clothing. I read him a lot of the comments, and he beamed from ear to ear.

I saw that someone left a comment wanting to know, “what’s the point of doing the post,” and that is a fair question, especially since you follow me for “my” style instead of my husbands. 😂

The point was more about having fun, understanding that others can help with your wardrobe choices, and just getting out of your comfort zone. The biggest reason for doing these types of posts is to let “you” become the fashion expert. From your comments, I can tell so many of you have a good idea of your body, what looks good on you, and the colors that you should wear.

I will give you this one tidbit of advice. The other outfit that Joe chose for me was NOT a style that I liked, NOT a print that I liked, NOT a color that I would have chosen, and I would never have ordered it in a million years. It looked FABULOUS on me, and I liked it 100 times better than the one from yesterday. My point is…get outside your comfort zone and try something that you think will not look good on you. You might be just as surprised as I was.

This feminine and flirty leopard print dress is my style! I love the dress’s fit, the length of the dress, the print of the dress, and how the dress is flowy and flirty. I think this dress is beautiful, and it is a great neutral that you can wear for any occasion. Here is a post that I recently did showing dresses for all of your spring events.

The dress has a lot of swishiness (is that a word) to it, and I found myself swaying back and forth to feel it swaying. The dress runs true to size, and I am wearing my usual size 12 in the dress. However, the dress is limited in size since it has been such a popular choice.

Here is the back view for you. This gives you a good idea of how long the dress is and where it will hit on your legs. I am 5’6″ tall, and it hits me mid-calf.

I could have worn black shoes with this dress, but I chose to wear my new tan quilted leather heels from Vince Camuto. This quilted/woven/braided design is a hot trend right now, and the square toe is also trending. The quilted trend is something that I like, but I am on the fence about the square toe. My pair is limited in size, so I’ll link some others also. I am wearing my usual size 9. The widget wouldn’t let me change the color of the shoes, so click to see the available options.

This feminine and flirty dress is by Free Assembly, a new vendor at Walmart. I’ve styled some of their other clothing before, and so far, I’ve liked everything that I’ve gotten. The cornflower blue dress is too cute, and I love the feminine ruffle and the puff sleeves. I ordered a medium in the dress, and it fits me great.

This dress is slightly shorter than the leopard print, but it still hits me below the knee. You can see in this picture that the dress has elastic in the back, and that keeps it looking fitted in the front.

Here is a better look at the ruffle, and you can also see that the dress has a few buttons on the front. I chose to keep my jewelry dainty looking since the dress has a dainty floral print.

The Rylan small diamond-shaped hoops are beautiful, and they can be worn with almost anything. They aren’t statement earrings; they are a complement piece. My gold vermeil chain and cross are one of my favorite jewelry pieces, and I wear them almost daily.

This Coach handbag is several years old, but I pull it out every summer and carry it. I love this little handbag, and it shows. Look how dirty this handbag is, but I have no idea how to clean it. Any ideas??? Here is a link with several of these handbags available, but look them over to see which is the best one for you.

These shoes are also several years old. I should have titled this post “how I shop my closet.” Lol! I love wearing white and burlap during the summer! It is such a summery look, and I always wear these espadrille wedges. Here are some similar heels.

I forgot to list all of the jewelry in this look. I am wearing a faux-tortoise single strand necklace that is 48″ long. The gold chain is a Vincent Chain Necklace, and the AVI gold hoops are both from Kendra Scott.

  1. Love, love, love the leopard print dress!! Mine just arrived today (got a 10 before they sold out!) and I absolutely love the fit, and you’re right, the swishieness! Makes me feel pretty. BTW, I was lucky to find your blog about a month ago and I’ve already received a few compliments from 2 sweaters I got after seeing them on your site. Thank you so much for sharing!

  2. Love the dresses! They both look great on you!

  3. Cara MacNinch says:

You look great in both dresses. I would wear the blue dress. I love the details. Your Coach purse is a great look or spring and summer.

  4. I also have the leopard print dress from Loft. Received many compliments when worn to work this week. I am 5 9 and wear a size 14 and the length is perfect. I knew we were style sisters

  5. Very cute and fresh looking
! I haven’t worn a dress in a very long time but you’ve inspired me to go shopping!

  6. Love these dresses! Hugs to you and Joe – your new blog approved style editor! Have a great weekend!

  7. I loved both dresses today and how you styled them. And, I think it is fun to change things up. I can’t wait till I get some kind of a catalog in so I can ask Allen to pick out an outfit. I always ask his opinion on shoes and jewelry when we go out. He has great taste. Love your blog.

  8. Ellen Bullard-Fitch says:

Love, love, love both dresses! Alas, the leopard print is sold out in all but the smallest sizes. Fortunately, the Blue Cornflower is available! And just between you and me, it looks much better on you than on the model on their website!

  9. Love the dresses! Very cute.

  10. I really like both dresses, in fact, I personally really like to wear a dress as often as possible. With our stay at home more in the past, i am looking forward to wearing some of my dresses for many occasions. I thought the simple jewelry was perfect with the dresses you wore today.

  11. Linda White says:

It’s been years since I’ve worn a dress but this is inspiring me to wear a dress to church. Since I go few places where I need to feel a little dressy. Love the animal print but don’t want to show that much arm. You as always looked adorable.

  12. Both dresses are adorable and perfect picks for spring and summer but between the 2, I’d pick the leopard print for sure.

  13. Coach used to send the bags off and clean the bag for you!! Check with them and see if they still do.

  14. Love the blue cornflower print (reminds me of vintage corning ware…lol)… so feminine and springy! I use a hansbag/shoes cleaner made by Coach which works great!

  15. ELIZABETH says:

    So cute! Love the shoes!

  16. You are cute as a button! Love these dresses, and especially one of them is from Walmart!

  17. Peggy Blake says:

Tania, I love your blog and look forward to reading it each morning! I have a beauty question. Your teeth are so white. Do you use something to keep them white or were you just blessed with gorgeous teeth?

  18. I love both dresses! Your hair looks great like that too. Very flirty and fun!!!

  19. I especially love that leopard dress, but alas…not available in my size. Thanks for all your stylin’ tips, and Joe’s too!

    1. I have been thinking lately about celebrating being feminine. The two dresses posted today are certainly an affirmation. They both look wonderful. The neutral shoe with the leopard print draws the attention to the printed dress. I would have also chose black shoes but now prefer the neutral.

  20. Sharon E. Smith says:

Love your blog, never miss reading it when it appears in my RSS feed. I’m 77 and have upper arm flaps. It would be great if you could feature dresses with sleeves, even elbow length. Loved the Cornflower one you featured today. Keep up the great work.

  21. Love the dresses. So cute and look beautiful on you. Thank you for sharing a post on dresses!

  22. Both are very good dresses on you! I love the cornflower blue color! My husband sometimes orders or brings home clothing for me. Not always what I would choose, but everything always looks great!
I sometimes just play it to safe!

  23. I thought your post about Joe choosing an outfit was great! My husband has great taste (he married me right?) When we shop together he’ll often suggest an outfit & it usually is something I passed right by. I bought leather cleaner to clean my bags. First I stuff the bag with newspaper and carefully use a cloth to clean all the dirty areas. A magic eraser works great on bags and sandal footbeds too!

  24. You suit both dresses.
I am not a dress person but can appreciate how they look.

  25. LISA CASTRO says:

I always enjoy your blog and sometimes it’s nice to change things up. I thought it was really cute to see what Joe would pick. I also the Joe stories you tell. LOL The dresses are both darling on you!

  26. Marcie W. says:

Both dresses look lovely on you. One is cute and the other more sophisticated.

Looking forward to seeing the second outfit that Joe picked for you.

  27. Debbie Brown says:

I liked both of the dresses. They both looked really nice on you.

  28. You look so lady like and perfect!

  29. Love all of the dresses you have chosen today. Light and Spring like! I thought having your husband pick from your closet was such a cute idea! Though I would never do that! LOL. Off topic…and Just aThought, would you ever consider showing the inside of your home as part of your blog? A few women I follow have and I find it inspiring! If it’s not your thing I totally get it! Have a blessed day!

    1. Lurania, I’ll do that with my new home we just bought. You can’t walk through my current house, it is too cluttered. Lol!

  30. Tania, I have been following you for about a month and I love your posts. I may not want to follow all your suggestions, but you certainly give us plenty to think about. I loved Joe’s picks yesterday. He has quite the fashion eye!

    1. He told me that he knew what looks good on a woman’s body. Hahahahahaha!

  31. I love wearing dresses when the weather warms up and both look great on you, but the leopard print is my favourite. Cute shoes too… good to know square toes are in style cuz I still have some from years ago that I can start wearing again. That’s a fun little Coach bag too. I have cleaned my purses using a soft, damp sponge with a small amount of gentle dishwashing soap and have had good results. Good luck!

    1. I’ll have to try the sponge and soap method and see if that helps.

  32. I like both of these dresses…. either would be a great “easy dress” to have on hand for those times when you want to be a little dressier. Thanks for finding them… and sharing different retailers!
I like that you come up with unique ways to challenge your followers out of their typical comfort zones. I wonder what *my* husband might suggest if I did this with him! 🤣

    1. Try it!!! Alison, it will be fun to just see what HE thinks will look good on you.

  33. Jean kaeser says:

I bought the corn flower blue dress! I can’t wait to get it. I’ve been looking for something just like this for day dress wear🥰

  34. Cheryl Sampson says:

Love the blue, especially the leopard print. Dresses are so nice-wish more people wore them now.

  35. Both dresses look amazing on you and you’ve accessorized perfectly! Pinning both outfits and I will see if either dress is available in my size..Quick question, how do you keep the toe bed of your shoes looking good..I know this might seem like an odd query but I’ve just gotten a really cute pair of white wedge sandals and the toe bed is white cloth and I don’t want those icky toe stains😳…also I meant to comment yesterday but got too busy so going back to that post..

    1. Sharon, I know exactly what you mean. I don’t like the icky toe stains either. Maybe try spraying them with Scotch Guard???

  36. Tammy Gravis says:

Beautiful dresses you make me want to dress better!

  37. Teresa Hill says:

Love both of these dresses. You look great.

  38. This is definitely my style of dresses!!!! I love the leopard print one much better than the one I have hanging in my closet that I’ve never worn. Also liking that cornflower blue so may have to order that one to see how far off my shoulders that V neck falls. Really curious now about Joe’s second outfit he picked out 🙂

  39. I love everything about that leopard print dress; the style, the print and the length. Its exactly what I’ve been looking for. Bummer they don’t have it in my size. I recently bought a dress similar to this one and because it didn’t come in petite I sized down thinking the length might be okay. When it arrived my mid-calf dress pooled around my feet….lol.
This dress is beautiful on you Tania!

    1. Lol! I understand how length can be an issue. There have been times when I almost didn’t order a dress because it looked so short on the model. Then, it comes in and fits me great. Must have been the 8 ft. long legs that those models have. Lol!

  40. I don’t wear a lot of dresses in our cold climate but I do love wearing them on warm summer days. They make me feel pretty and feminine.
I got a kick out of Joe picking out outfits for you. He did well! My hisband has a very good eye for flattering looks on women right down to accessories (his mother was always well dressed). I should ask him to pick something out for me and see what he does!

    1. I love dresses, especially in the summer.

    1. It is a beautiful color!

  41. Christine F says:

You look darling in both dresses. I’m liking white tennies with a flowy dress. Throw a jean jacket in the mix and you are set. Bah on the negative Nellie…..why are people SO nasty?

    1. Christine, I didn’t mean to imply that the comment was negative. I can see her point, after all, ladies follow my blog because of my style, not Joe’s.

  42. The cornflower blue dress is by far the most flattering of the 2 outfits on you. Makes you look thinner & younger!
    Great color for you.

    1. Isn’t it funny color can make a huge difference?

      1. Monica Ercanbrack says:

Love both dresses very flattering and they look very comfortable.

        1. I think they are flattering also!

        2. Both dresses look great on you!
