THE DAY BEFORE THE NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS
It’s the day before the night before Christmas, and I am busy, busy, busy being good. That is the words to one of my very favorite Christmas songs. Most people would say White Christmas, Silent Night, or even Jingle Bells, but not me. As a child, my sister and I listened to one album over and over and over. I can still sing you every song that was on that album.
364 days in the year they fuss and feud and fight, 364 days in the year who cares who’s wrong or right. 364 days in the year morning, noon, and night. And then suddenly a change, a very big change, and everything seems alright. I guess it kind of loses something in the translation. But in my mind, I can hear them singing the words. It was an album by the Caroleers. Did anyone else listen to this as a child?
It is Christmas Eve and I am sure some of you are frantically shopping, cooking, or wrapping presents. I am just chilling here, sitting by the fire and watching the twinkling of the Christmas lights on the tree. NOT!!! I am the one shopping, cooking, and wrapping, Hahaha! Let’s make this a short post, so here we go. The turtleneck sweater poncho is the star of this show. I just had to have it when I saw it. I have kind of steered away from ponchos this year, but there was just something about this one that I really liked. It is plush and I love the pop of red running through it. There wasn’t a tag of any kind inside the poncho so I have no idea what the brand was. I bought it at the boutique in town.
I layered two necklaces together for this effect. The short one is called the Isabelle and if you look at the picture on the Plunder website you will notice that it had a piece of lace tied to the necklace. I didn’t want the lace so I took it off. The longer necklace is called the Tabitha. I like the versatility of this necklace. You can wear it short or long like I have here.
The two black bracelets are my By The Book bracelets. I have on Proverbs 3:5 and John 3:16 today. I have worn these bracelets several times and I love the gentle reminders they provide. Two of my other favorites are Philippians 4:13 and Jeremiah 29:11. I need to order me another Jeremiah one, I gave mine away when I went to Las Vegas to someone who needed it worse than I did at that time.
My Old Navy red pixie pants just matched the red in the poncho. The Tignanello suede purse also matched perfectly because of the red inserts on the side. I never zip these closed but you could. I have searched all around and this is one of the only ones I have found. Someone is selling the purse on Poshmark.
My black boots are a pair that I bought on clearance at Belk this spring. They are a pair by Bandolino. I didn’t really “love” this pair when I bought them but I keep going back to them all the time. That just goes to show you what I know. Hahaha
I was truly humbled yesterday at everyone comments. I can’t believe that I have made a difference in your lives. I read some of the comments to Joe and he was blown away. I can honestly say that you have made a difference in my life. I can have something happen to me during the day and I start thinking about what I am going to say on the blog. Take yesterday morning for instance. I got up early because I was going to start cooking for the dinner we were having at work. I got out all the ingredients and found out that I have left off a few things when I went to the store the night before. I needed to go get a couple items but Joe was still in bed and I didn’t want to wake him up. Finally, I decided to go in the utility room and get dressed from the clothing that was in there. Great, except for 1 item that I was missing, a bra. I put on a denim shirt and pulled on a sweatshirt and a pair of jeans. I had no makeup on and I ran my fingers through my hair and went out the door. I kept thinking to myself, if the gurls could see me know. Lol!!!!

For most people having the red pants would have been the problem. You are way ahead of the curve, Donna. Merry Christmas!!!
I love the Tabitha necklace! I tried to order it but apparently I need your stylist information. Can you send me the info I need? Thanks. Love the entire outfit by he way! Very festive.
Good morning, Dottie. The Tabitha necklace is really pretty. I like that you can wear it long or short and you can attach a pendant or badge to it. To order go to http://www.plunderdesign.com/party/50isnotold and in the search bar put in Tabitha. That should be all you have to do. Have a Merry Christmas!
Love the poncho and post, your blog is the first thing I’m reading while waiting for my coffee to cool right now (and trying to wake up!)
Merry Christmas to you and your family!
Good morning, Deb! I don’t want you burning your mouth, I guess I need to talk longer on the blog to let the coffee have time to cool. Hahaha
You’re glowing and you look fabulous! I love the poncho and red pants. I just bought the same pixie pants at ON❤ This is probably one of my favorite outfits so far! Merry Christmas Tania! Enjoy the time with your family!
? Lori!!! Merry Christmas to you and yours!
Love the poncho…I am very interested in the By the Book bracelets…will Google the name to find where to buy them. Merry Christmas to you and yours
Merry Christmas, Shawn! I love my By The Book bracelets. I bought mine in a coffee shop in Marietta, GA but they didn’t have them the last time I was there. I have ordered them before from the link I put on the blog. Christian Books carries them but it takes me forever to find them on their site. Use the search bar and type in By The Book Bracelet and it will bring them up. They run about 14.00.
Loved the poncho and red pants. I hope you and your family have a very Merry Christmas and a Blessed New Year.
Thanks Carla. Merry Christmas to you!

Most people have never heard of the Caroleers, Nancy. It was a child’s album that my sister and I had and we played it continuously.
