DATE NIGHT OUTFIT
One of my favorite things to do is to go out to eat. I HATE cooking!!! I know a lot of you actually enjoy the whole cooking process but it has never been one of my things. I CAN cook, I just don’t LIKE to cook. Lol! Living in Grundy certainly, limits the places that we can go.
We both really love Chinese food. Our Chinese restaurant is not exactly like others. We do have a buffet with lots of the Chinese foods but we also have a station where the food is prepared similarly to a Japanese restaurant. You select your items you want to be prepared (think Subway) you hand them to the chef and he cooks them while you stand there and wait. I can eat my weight in that stuff!!!
This is the type outfit you need to wear when you go to eat. I have everything on I need to hide my expanding belly. Lol! A loose fitting top, expandable pants, and even a large scarf to cover any belly bulge. You guys just thought I dressed for fashion, you didn’t know it was for function too.
My tunic/dress is from Old Navy. I love this swing dress, it is so forgiving. It hides a multitude of bumps and bulges and looks stylish while doing it. This is the perfect length, hitting just about 3 or 4 inches above the knee, to wear as a dress or tunic. You can’t see because I am wearing a scarf, but this is a round neck top.
The blanket scarf is one I bought at a local boutique. These have become plentiful and cheap. You can find them at Target, Walmart, and Amazon. These scarfs make such a fashion statement. I told Joe that dressing is 1 + 2 + 3 + 6. Pants + top + accessories + outfit. Simple, easy peasy.
I didn’t wear a necklace, duh! It wouldn’t have shown anyway, but I did wear bracelets. I have on the “I Choose Happy” bangle on the right called the Raelynn and the Wanda is on the right. One of the things I like about Plunder is they are an inspirational company. They believe in building each other up and encouraging each other. I wanted a reminder that I am in control of my feelings, and I Choose Happy!!!
The navy leggings are plain and simple. I bought these over a year ago and have worn them all summer long. In the summer I just made them shorter and let them appear to be crop leggings. In the fall I pull them down and stuff them in my booties. These booties, by the way, are super cute. These are c/0 Marmi Shoes and I have worn them quite a few times. The fringe on the backs of the shoes is a detail that makes them stand out from the rest of the crowd.
I just learned that December 16th is Ugly Christmas Sweater Day. I want YOU to participate with me. I don’t want you to make an ugly sweater or embellish one that you own, I want you to pull one out of the closet and send me a picture of you wearing it. I won’t mention any names, but come one gurls, this will be fun. A whole post of me and my readers wearing our Ugly Christmas Sweaters. Over the next couple of days please take a picture and email it to me at fiftyisnotold@gmail.com
NOW, one other thing. I am having a giveaway for the 15th month of my blog. Comment what you want for Christmas. I will announce the winner next Monday. I haven’t decided what the prize is yet, I am thinking of a few things. It may be a gift certificate to Plunder, Rodan and Fields, or Amazon. It may be some jewelry that I have purchased to give away and never did, or it may be something completely different. I’ll decide that and let you know. But, it is free. Haha!

I would love to have the reversible vegan leather tote from Nordstrom.
I am currently trying to simplify, so I really don’t want any “stuff” for Christmas. But I have a little problem with purses. I love them. So, I wouldn’t say no to a new one. ?
I would love to have a Plunder bracelet for Christmas, If I don’t win I know I will.be hinting to family members. Lol
What I want for Christmas is for my oldest son to get his life together and health and happiness for all my family and friends. Love your blog
I would like a new purse and money for clothes. Cleaning out my closet and its looking pretty light!
I would like for my son to find a job and it be something he would enjoy and want to do for the rest of his life. It’s so terrible when your children are unhappy. As parents, we just want the best for them. Merry Christmas to you and yours.
Love your blog! I happened upon it the day I turned 55. I wanted to start dressing more stylish but wondered if I was doing it right. You have given me so many wonderful ideas! Love the swing dress just picked one up at my favorite store, Old Navy. Going to get me a blanket scarf. Adorable outfit!
I also appreciate your honesty and humor but mostly your faith. Your Sunday blogs are my favorite! Keep up the amazing job, God has given you a gift.
For Christmas, I would love my kids to move closer with our new granddaughter. California and New York are too far apart!
Be blessed!
Ugh, I hate cooking too! Cute look and thanks for the link up!

What I’d like for Christmas is one, just one pair of leggings that fit and a dress to wear them with for church.
