I don’t know when I turned into such a dress-loving girl! I’ve always loved a one-and-done outfit since I didn’t have to choose multiple items. But, this summer, I’ve been dress obsessed, and I wanted to share with everyone these two cute dresses from Walmart that will work for now and later this fall.

Late summer is a time when it can be 100 degrees outside. When that happens, I love a dress because they are cool we wear and allow the breeze to cool me off. This Spaghetti Tiered Dress is perfect when the heat index is high but you still want to wear something that is super cute.

Here is Virginia, it has already started to have a chill in the air, especially in the mornings and afternoons. We have had cooler than normal temperatures, and lots and lots of rain. So, I’m already thinking about ways to wear my clothing for early fall temps.

I like clothing with design details that set it apart from everything else. So when I saw this Denim Jacket that mimics paint splatter, I knew I had to grab it. The jacket is super soft and has plenty of stretch to move with me as I go about my day. Denim on denim is trending right now, and I like how the two colors of denim aren’t exactly the same.

This 2 piece Signature Tote and Pouch Set goes under the category of functional and just plain adorable. It is a large tote that will hold anything and everything, including a laptop. The “Throw Stuff In Here” is an open invitation to add everything but the kitchen sink. The additional matching pouch has a place for credit cards and your phone. There are several other colors in this tote, but I was partial to the black and gray.

These Raffia Wedge Sandals check off all the boxes. I love wearing wedge shoes since the heel is easier to walk in. Plus, an espadrille style shoe is what I wear all summer long, I love the design. I picked this color since it will look great up into the fall, but the shoes are also available in white and black.

This is one chic-looking dress set. It looks fabulous with the cardigan buttoned, but I like wearing it unbuttoned the best. This dress set is versatile and could be worn to dinner, meetings, work, etc. The dress could be worn separately; I’d wear it with the denim jacket above for a casual lunch date.

The cardigan is a great length and can be worn separately with pants, jeans, or skirts. Wouldn’t this be cute over a white button-down, a pair of jeans, and ankle boots this fall?

When I saw that the dress set was ribbed, I ordered a large since most ribbed items run small. That was a mistake! The dress and cardigan is huge on me, so I definitely needed a medium. If between sizes, order down since the outfit has lots of stretch to it.

The first handbag was large, so I thought I would show you a smaller one that looks dressier. It doesn’t hold as much, but maybe you don’t need to take the kitchen sink with you anyway. The Gold Wedge Sandals are so pretty. I love the look of them, and a cork wedge sole is great for summer. These are slightly heavier than the espadrilles above, but they are very nice shoes. They are on sale for $15, so I don’t expect them to last long.

I started this blog to help women look fashionable at any age. Finding stylish and affordable clothing can be an issue, but Walmart has the answer. I can always find gorgeous styles at a reasonable price for any occasion. Here are some more items that will work for early fall.

Walmart makes shopping very convenient for its customers, especially since most people have a store within 10 miles of their homes. You can also sign up for Walmart+, where you get Free Shipping with no order minimums (excludes most Marketplace items, location & freight surcharges) and Free Delivery (where available) with orders over $35. I take advantage of home delivery several times weekly and love that small convenience.

Walmart sponsors this post, and I will receive compensation, but the opinions expressed are my own.

  1. love the McDonald’s story. I had that to happen to me before. The server at drive thru was not Happy. I apologize and went on my way. Went order and gave her a tip. Kinda got a smile. Those things happen to us all. Love the ribbed dress and cardigan and also the tote. I am always looking for a bag to carry to church. I teach the young kids class. Always needing a tote to carry supplies. Have a wonderful rest of the week. Ce Ce

  2. Loved your Mc Donald’s story!! I love wearing dresses in the summer too.. easy and comfortable! The cardigan dress outfit is super cute! I wish it was cool n rainy here … tomorrow supposed to be 108 degrees here in northern California.

    1. 😳 That is very hot! I hope it starts to cool off where you live soon. Thank you for commenting.

I bought that darling Time and Tru jean jacket a good month ago. The faded dots that do look like paint spots caught my eye. Subtle and adorable. WM’s fashion choices are much more abundant online than in-store, with some brands only available online, like Pioneer Woman. But with $35 minimum free shipping and 90 day free returns in-store, it’s lovely shopping online. If unsure of sizes, order 2 sizes. This works great for me as I have several WMs within a 30-40 minute ride. But you only need one accessible store to do this! P.S. Surprised you got the L in the jacket as it runs full. I bought M for more of a “topper” fit as opposed to an “outerwear” fit. I may have to reconsider.

Loved the McDonald’s lack of money story! Once we went thru a toll booth and lacked change. Had to take money from the penny loafers. Remember those? Dates me for sure! Love the new finds from Walmart. They have sure made improvements.

    1. Lol!!! Palvena, I do remember those! We’ve had that issue with toll booths too, but they had a camera system, and sent us a bill. Lol!

  8. I love dresses for church on Sunday! They are a quick and look polished. 💕 I find more (and better) clothing on the Walmart website than in our local stores, so thanks for showing us their fashion!

We do road trips and I wear comfortable dresses while riding and driving. So much more comfortable than having a waistband around your waist while sitting for hours. I love that you can dress up or down a dress with shoes, purses, jewelry, etc. Thank you for posting.

  10. So cute!!!! Love dresses!!!
