50 IS NOT OLD | CHARACTER & CLASSYou might have read where I told how Joe describes my look, “Classy with a little Trashy.” His meaning is a classic look, but with a little sex appeal thrown it. Lol! I have been referring to my look a little differently. I now say it is, “Sassy, Classy & A Little Smart A**ey.” Hahaha50 IS NOT OLD | CHARACTER & CLASSI have gotten a lot of comments since I started this blog 9 months ago, about how you are able to draw inspiration from my posts. You have no idea how good that makes me feel!? Some of you have mentioned problems that might be related to body issues, age issues, or are just confused which way to turn. I know exactly how you feel, it is not easy going from one stage in your life to another. You have a mind set of how and what you are supposed to do and look like. How are you supposed to dress? How are you supposed to feel? Here is the wonderful part…..it is all up to YOU!50 IS NOT OLD | CHARACTER & CLASS

In church the other day, my preacher talked about character. He said that character is how you act when no one is looking. The face you put on in the public eye, being sweet or kind, but only for show is not the mark of a good character. On the other hand, I think classy is how you act when you are “in” public.50 IS NOT OLD | CHARACTER & CLASS

How do you treat the waiter at lunch? What do you do with a shopping cart after you are finished shopping? Do you remember to thank those who have nothing to give to you in return? These might seem like strange questions considering you are on a fashion blog. But, believe it or not, your character shows in your outfit choices.50 IS NOT OLD | CHARACTER & CLASS

So, for all those “S” words you used to described my blog (here), I am well pleased. I will gladly take sassy, sexy, sweet, sincere, stylish, and sophisticated as my descriptions!!!50 IS NOT OLD | CHARACTER & CLASSFirst things first, you can’t take your eye off this incredible top. This is such a wonderful top! It is eye catching, it is sleek and silky, and it is a classic navy & white print. This top is by Dennis Basso, yep that is the “fur” guy from QVC with the deep gruff voice. Haha I couldn’t grab it off the rack fast enough, and I looked with fingers crossed, at the size.

Navy & White Top: Similar | Similar | Plus50 IS NOT OLD | CHARACTER & CLASSMy jewelry of choice is by Plunder Designs. Sorry if I have been wearing it a lot here lately, but it is still new and fresh to me. I love the long necklace with the large pearl drop. It is a little hard to see because of the print of the top. The necklace is designed to attach a pendant to the bottom of the pearl. I attached my bling T that I already had. I also wore the large pearl bauble bracelet to match. The feather and pearl bracelet seemed to fit with the pearl theme, so I grabbed it as well.50 IS NOT OLD | CHARACTER & CLASSI thought the outfit need a little pop of color, so I went with a bright pink lip stain and a matching tote. The leather tote is a Vera Bradley, and I picked it up at the Premium Outlets in Orlando, Florida this past Spring.

Hot Pink Tote: Vince Camuto | Michael Kors | Tory Burch | Vera Bradley50 IS NOT OLD | CHARACTER & CLASSAs you can see, the top looks good not tucked also. After a little white, I got tired of trying to keep the half-tuck looking good, so I went with the un-tucked look the rest of the day. It was all good! Haha50 IS NOT OLD | CHARACTER & CLASSFinally, the stretch pull-on white ankle pants, which are a MUST for summer. Come on gurls, I don’t care if they do get dirty easy, you have to have a pair of white pants, capris, of shorts. You just MUST! These were from TJ Maxx a couple years ago, but any pair will do.

White Ankle Pants: Kohl’s | Talbots | Plus50 IS NOT OLD | CHARACTER & CLASSNo matter your age, and no matter your size, it is up to you which “S” you choose. You can pick sassy, and stylish, or you can choose a completely different letter of the alphabet. It is your choice! Just remember to stay away from some “S” words. Sad, sloppy, and sleazy are not words that describe me, and don’t let them describe you either.

  1. What a great top! With it untucked, you look very long and lean. I the new title you’ve given your style and think it fits very well!

Tania….Classy! Yes indeed! I certainly wish the gals at the play I attended last evening read your blog. I live in the Pacific Northwest and people describe dress here as casual. Well, I’d call it sad! So many lovely women looking rumpled and like they made no effort at all. I mean, sad sack jeans and running shoes at a Broadway play just looks terrible! Before I started reading your blog I wasn’t that bad, but my clothes certainly needed updating. I’m happy to say I’ve started on that. It does take some time to figure out the styles that flatter, but it has been worth it. I love that you try new things and are so open to color. Thanks for your inspiration!

  3. OMG! Just when I think you can’t possibly top the outfit from the day before you do! This look is fabulous. Love you in blue and white. Makes your eyes sparkle.

Ware you sure you are not my long lost cousin from Wester Kentucky!! I have to smile at so many of your comments because they are going through my mind sometimes too, or I have done something so similar. Thank you for your honest real life blog…

  5. Guess what???! I just went on QVC’s website and they are selling this blouse on clearance for $24.56! So I’m buying it! Hope I can rock it like you do – take care!

    1. Lori, that is great!!! I must have missed it last night when I went on their site. I typed in Dennis Basso top, but I did not see it. It must have been late. Lol!

  6. Tania, I love your style! I’m a very casual dresser, but because of you, I have started stepping it up a notch! I love this top! And the pants…The outfit looks a little too warm for where I am (Texas), but some version of it…

I would like to order a plunder starter kit , how do I go about this so you will get credit for it?

  8. Hi Tania, you look very classy, and beautiful. Your love for the Lord reflex in your outside, and you past that on in your amazing blog. Keep up you great job your doing. You give us so much inspiration, and so many ideas. Love your top, I’m working on slowly updating my wardrobe, and I look forward in getting ideas from you. I have a middle problem so their are thing that don’t look good right now, but working on it, with God’s help I will make it. God bless and have a wonderful weekend.

  9. One more thing, did you mention where you bought those cute white shoes at? I’m sorry if you did, I just don’t see it. thanks!

    1. I bought those at TJ Maxx. They are by Aerosole.

  10. Gorgeous!! You always look so stylish! I am 47 but I am in that mid-life stage as to how to dress young for the way I feel, but compliment my age of not being able to dress like a teeny-bopper anymore. You really have great tips! I wish we had a QVC outlet here! I buy from QVC all the time! Dennis Basso has a ton of great stuff. He really knows how to design women’s clothes. So does Bob Mackie, although he loves his glitter & sequins!
