Another week has flown by, and I’m excited to share the casual outfits for women over 50 that I recently wore. I love putting together looks that are comfortable, stylish, and perfect for everyday life. Whether you’re working from home, running errands, or heading out for a casual lunch, these outfit ideas will keep you looking polished while feeling relaxed.

What are casual outfit ideas for women over 50?
Casual outfits for women over 50 should be comfortable yet stylish. Some great options include classic jeans with a cozy sweater, a chic cardigan over a simple tee, or a flowy blouse paired with tailored pants. Adding accessories like a structured handbag or stylish sneakers can elevate any casual look.
Cashmere Blend Sweater and Pants
This outfit is one that I bought last year, but I still love it and wear it often. Last year, I started wearing this when Kansas City was playing since their colors are red and gold. So, this year, I wore it again when the playoffs started. Unfortunately, you don’t get to see my photos of me celebrating a Super Bowl win, but there is always next year. Lol!
You can see the softness jump off the page! I love the rich, vibrant red of the Cashmere Blend Cowl Sweater, but it is the softness that keeps me reaching for it. The cowl neck is comfortable and relaxed, and this year, I bought a Half Zip Pullover Top, and you’ll love the gorgeous neutral camel color. You can find more items like this here.
Here are the matching cozy Cashmere Blend Ankle Pants in the same beautiful red color. They have a drawstring to adjust the waist and POCKETS! We all love pants with pockets. Lol!
Luxe Casual Outfit for Women Over 50: SPANX Review
This is probably my favorite outfit of the week. It is super soft, which is always a huge plus in my book. I love elevated casual outfits, and this one looks put together and polished.
If you’ve tried any of the SPANX Air Essentials, you know why this SPANX® AirEssentials Striped Cardigan is part of my favorite outfit. I love how the stripes are only across the chest, which is fabulous for small-chested women like me. The crop length is modern and youthful looking, and I can raise my arms without showing my stomach.
I recently ordered several jeans from SPANX, including these SPANXsculpt™ ReDefine Flare Jeans. SPANX jeans usually run small, so I sized up to a 10 instead of my usual size 8. They fit great and have a lot of stretchiness to them. An 8 might have fit me, but I prefer not to be too confined.
You’ve seen me carrying this navy Pebble Leather Crossbody Bag a lot lately. That happens to me a lot; I get obsessed with one or two bags and carry them all the time until a new bag obsession comes along. Lol!
Did you see my recent Spring Shoe Trends post? If you did, you probably noticed that I linked to a lot of suede shoes. Suede for Spring?!? Yep, suede shoes will be carried over into Spring and possibly Summer. These White Grey Leather Sneakers by Dolce Vita are a great neutral that will go with almost anything, and they are comfortable and run true to size.
Coral Half Zip and Patch Pocket Jeans
Bright and vibrant! Those are great descriptive words for this casual outfit. I’m ready to shrug off the dark colors of winter and embrace color again!
You can’t look at this Half Zip Pullover Sweater without feeling alive! This bright coral color is stunning, and I am a sucker for a half zip pullover. They look great worn alone or with a button-up shirt underneath.
Since this is a good photo of my jewelry, I want to mention what I’m wearing. The Large Hoop Earrings are my go-to earrings that I wear all of the time. I rarely take my Large Cross 14k White Gold Pendant Necklace off, even if you can’t see it. I’m also wearing 2 Bamboo Acrylic Bracelets c/o Lisi Lerch. These are stretchy elastic acrylic bracelets that are lightweight and adorable. They are available in several colors, so you’ll be able to find just the one you need to match your outfit.
Patch pocket jeans are certainly having a moment! They’ve been trending for at least a year, and I still see them everywhere. These Wide Leg Jeans fit great and are affordable. I don’t like to spend a lot of money on a trend that might go out of style. This pair is under $30, so I won’t cry if that happens.
How do you like this structured yet soft handbag in a go-with-everything taupe shade? The roomy interior of the Taupe DKNY Tote Bag makes it great for carrying essentials without feeling overly bulky. Plus, it can also double as a small weekend bag and carry your laptop, etc.
These Lug Sole Suede Loafers are by Land’s End, and you know that means comfort and quality. The Otter color is a great neutral, and I like the penny loafer style and white lug sole. As I mentioned earlier, suede is going to be popular all year round this year.
Who Doesn’t Love Wearing a Sweatshirt and Jeans
I am always looking for a cute sweatshirt with details that make it stand out. I have plenty of solid colored sweatshirts, and unless you wear a collared shirt with them, they can look blah.
This Brushed Soft-Luxe Seamed Top is different. It is comfy and cozy, like a sweatshirt, but not quite as heavy or bulky. This majestic blue color is vibrant and eye-catching, and the seamed details add visual interest.
I have been waiting for years for Quince to finally carry jeans! That is really the only thing that was missing from their website, so I ordered SEVERAL different pairs to try. This is the Stretch Mid-Rise Flare Jean, and I love the style, length, and fit. Usually, Quince products can run small, so I ordered a size 30 instead of my normal size 29. Although these fit fine because of the stretchiness, I needed the smaller size. I have already contacted Quince, and they are going to exchange these for me. BTW, did you know that Quince has a 365-day return window?!?
Surprise, surprise…another suede shoe for spring! These beige Suede Sneakers are sleek and chic! They fit perfectly, have a memory foam insole, and are only $35. I think these are adorable, but am I the only one who thinks these look somewhat like bowling shoes? Hahaha!
Lucky Number 13!
For the last casual outfit that I recently wore, I went SUPER casual! I mentioned that I was ordering this in my What I Have On Order page, which you can access anytime. It is in the menu tab under Shop With Me.
As soon as this Oversize Graphic Sweatshirt arrived, I ran down to the package shed, tore it open, and put it on. I already had on a navy Knit long-sleeve button-up top that I had planned on wearing, so I just layered the two together.
I love the oversized look and the frayed seams. The top has a high/low design, which would make it perfect for wearing with leggings. I sent my granddaughter these photos, and she loved the look!
These Mid Rise Boyfriend Jeans are also on the relaxed side, so I thought they went perfectly with the relaxed oversized sweatshirt. This is about as casual as you can get!!!
How can I dress casually but still look put together?
The key is to balance comfort with structure. Choose well-fitting jeans or pants, layer with a stylish top or cardigan, and complete your look with polished shoes and simple accessories. Even a casual outfit can look chic with the right details!

Good morning! Your email came this morning with a picture of your DH. Love it! Try to get him to post pixs of his OOTD on 50INO from time to time! My DH is stuck in a rut & I could use the inso! Then that beautiful red hoodie set popped up. I ordered that red hoodie 3 days ago! Can’t wait for its arrival:). I did not order the pants – think I’ll go & do so no! It is beautiful & fun. Last is the 13 sweatshirt. I know a young girl getting married soon and 13 is the couple’s lucky number, think I’ll pick it up as an addition to her shower gift! BTW it is a boots and booze shower!
