50 IS NOT OLD | CASUAL FRIDAY STYLE | FASHION OVER 40Happy Friday! Ladies, I am on the road again. Lol!!! Even saying that makes me crack up. I have been a homebody for soooo long, and now I can’t seem to stay off the road. This time, I am off to Atlanta again, but not for a visit with my sister. I am going to an event with my Energizer Bunny Friend, and Beverly from BandBblog.
50 IS NOT OLD | CASUAL FRIDAY STYLE | FASHION OVER 40And, speaking of blogging friends, today on Friday with Friends I am going to introduce you to Julie from fashiontrendsandfriends. Julie is a self-proclaimed fashionista that comes from a long line of fashionistas. Even at an early age she was primping and dressing stylishly. When she was in the first grade, she thought her teacher had overslept because she didn’t have her makeup on and her dress wasn’t ironed. LOL! If you are noticing things like that at six years old, you can bet that she is going to dressing perfectly in later years. Be sure to head over to Julie’s blog, she and some of her friends are styling leopard print.
50 IS NOT OLD | CASUAL FRIDAY STYLE | FASHION OVER 40Since today is Friday, I thought that you might like a more relaxed outfit. I just got this cable sweater last week. I love this style sweater; I think the cable knit design is a classic. A sweater is an easy go-to piece that is comfortable and easy to wear. This sweater is already sold out, but I found several that is almost identical.

50 IS NOT OLD | CASUAL FRIDAY STYLE | FASHION OVER 4050 IS NOT OLD | CASUAL FRIDAY STYLE | FASHION OVER 40I wear this Shirley necklace all the time. I love the combination of the burlap, flowers, and beads on the necklace. You can get a better look at the necklace below. The earrings have some burlap fringe that dangles to match my necklace. These earrings were part of a Plunder Posse. The Posse is a subscription service that is 25.00 per month which includes taxes and shipping. For the 25.00 you will receive between 1 to 3 items in your box. To sign up for the Posse, go here.
50 IS NOT OLD | CASUAL FRIDAY STYLE | FASHION OVER 40You can see my Morgan and the Ramona bracelets in this picture.
50 IS NOT OLD | CASUAL FRIDAY STYLE | FASHION OVER 40The flare leg jeans are a huge trend this year. I ordered these, and I was afraid that I wouldn’t like this style, but I loved them. I put them on and showed them to Joe, and he actually loved them too! These also have a high waist detail which is another huge trend. With these jeans, you are hitting all the trends that you will need for the coming year. I like the look; I think it is very flattering and makes your legs look ten feet long. These do run true to size; I am wearing a size 10.
50 IS NOT OLD | CASUAL FRIDAY STYLE | FASHION OVER 40This is my first set of pictures from a photo session this week. Be sure to let me know if you like the new style of pictures. Courtney Baldwin Photography did a great job; she even made me look good. Lol!

Also, be sure to check out Julie’s blog, and tell her that I said hello.

  1. Love the outfit, it appeals to my inner preppy. You must be channeling Kate Middleton with the white cableknit sweater, as she was wearing a similar RL V neck earlier this week. So classy. My eye needs adjust to the wider legs for myself but I like them on you. I don’t find high waisted jeans comfy so I’m hoping mid-rise don’t become difficult to find. The photos are great. I know you live in a smaller town but they have an urban vibe with the brick, cracked sidewalk, & darkened background. You could be at a strip mall and you’d never really know it from the pics. Your image really pops in all the pics. Detailing such as the cable sweater knit is super clear.

Kathy, you are going to love where I was…Walmart! Lol! A good photographer can make any setting look good. BTW, it is taking me some time to adjust to the high rise jeans too. I am sure that we will all love them about the time that they go out of style. Lol!

  2. Hey girlie! You look fabulous and Courtney did a great job! I’m actually trying to get comfortable wearing hight waisted jeans too! Low cut jeans have bee around for so long, but I like how the high waist keeps everything tucked in! Wink!! Have a fantastic weekend, you girlies keep out of trouble!!

I wish you would have joined us this weekend. You really need to think about Rosemary, we would have a blast!!!

  3. These jeans look great on you! I swear the flare leg just looks kinda sexy, ya know? Have fun on your trip! The story about Julie and her teacher over sleeping is so funny. Love it!

Maybe that is why Joe liked the jeans, Kellyann! I was really surprised at how well I liked them on me.

  4. Please tell me where you found your jeans and the brand. Hate jean shopping! Thanks

Teresa, look for the highlighted text in the post. It will take you straight to the jeans.

  5. Like this outfit a lot. Even the jeans and I didn’t think I was a fan of high waist and flare leg but they look great on you. Pictures look good too. Can’t believe your outside Walmart!! Would have never guessed. Have fun in Atlanta. I’ve been reading Beverly’s blog ever since you introduced her.

Love the pictures. I just got use to skinny jeans. But truth be told I still have flare jeans in my jean drawer from several years (maybe 8?)back when they were in then. Lol! Guess I can just get those back out! Thanks for being brave and jumping in with the new trends!

  8. Love those jeans; they make you look tiny!
Wondered if you could explain the plunder posse a little more? Is there a certain length of time for your subscription, can you skip months, do you have any choices, etc.

Lynn, you are my new best friend! Lol! I will wear these jeans every day now. haha With the Posse, you can enroll and un-enroll as you please. There is no set amount of time that you have to order the service, but there is a reward program when you are a subscriber for at least 3 months at a time.

  9. Love your look Tania! I’m sure you’ll have a great time with your energizer bunny friend!! Thanks for the shout out!!

  11. Love your style! I’m so glad our mutual “energizer bunny” friend , Beverly, turned me on to your blog. I’ve known her all my life. Not quite sure about those high waist jeans though…but they look great on you. Just haven’t warmed up to that trend yet!

I would love to hear from YOU!
