CASUAL ELEGANCE WHEN YOU ARE OVER 50
You didn’t forget to tie your shoelaces, your pants are not unzipped, you don’t have something on your shirt, and if you see someone eating something that looks like poop, it’s chocolate. Today is April 1st, so that means that it is April Fools Day, and you should believe a thing you hear!!! Do you have a prank that you love to pull on people every year?
So, here are photos of hairstyles that I am considering. One of these is the one that I’m doing, so let’s see if you can guess which one it is going to be. I like to change things up early in the year, and since it is just hair, I don’t get too bent out of shape if it isn’t a home run. Sooo…
Look 1, color and cut.
Look 2, cut but keep my color.
Look 3, color and cut.
Look 4, color but keep my cut.
Look 5, extensions but keep my color.
How cute is this top??? This Ruffle Smocked Top (Similar)has a chrysanthemum print which is a gorgeous color. The ruffled sleeves are flirty and feminine, and the smocked detail at the front yoke is a great detail. I was pleasantly surprised when the top arrived with tiny crystal details.
You can see the smocking and tiny crystal details in this photo. I’m wearing a medium in the top, and it fits me great.
Here is a look at the length of the blouse, and it hits me a little below my hip.
I love these Straight Leg Raw Hem Jeans, they are perfect for spring and summer, and you can dress them up or down. These jeans look great with a blazer and heels, but you can also wear them with a t-shirt and sneakers. The description said these jeans ran small and that you should size up. I sized up to a 32 instead of a 30, but they are too big. I promise that I’ll eventually get my sizing down, but at least these are from Nordstrom, so I’m not paying for shipping or returns. I just received the 30s, so I’ll let you know how they fit once I try them on.
I’ve already carried this cute beaded floral clutch with several outfits. Here is a similar version. I love the beadwork, and the colors of this clutch are perfect for spring and summer. My jewelry is the Adeline Link Necklace, the Sophee Drop Earrings, and I’m wearing a 5.5 Cartier Love Ring in 18Kt gold, which I earned through Rodan and Fields.
The last part of my outfit is the neutral pointy-toe heels. These D’Orsay heels are a pair I bought from J Crew Factory several years ago. I also own the flat version, but they must still be in Grundy because I can’t find them. This beige shade is a great neutral that will go with anything. I found some similar shoes, including those flats that I mentioned, and I linked them below.
This is no April Fool’s prank; I am getting my hair done today. I can’t wait to hear which look you think I am choosing. 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5???
I hope you liked today’s post. If so, PLEASE remember to pin my post on Pinterest.

#2 for your hair. No to the pants, ragged hem is not elegant
This is my first time on this site and I was trying to find a link for the white jeans from Nordstrom’s and couldn’t find it. Love the look!
Stephanie, you click on the red wording to go to the links.
I am guessing #2
I’m going with number 2. I think you look great with short hair. I also am torn that it may be changing your color to number 5??? Whatever it is I’m sure it will look great.
I’m guessing #2. (#1 is the style I’m going for & the pic I showed my hairdresser.☺)
I’m guessing either No2 or No3!
Tania, the pants are not casual elegant. The strings hanging down do not look good. I do love the top!
I like all but 5
Tania, I think It’s #2. (I always get my hair cut shorter in the spring/summer). Can’t wait to see your new look!
I think #3. Either that or I can see you in #1’s cut, but keep your color. You look great as a platinum blonde, but you’d also look amazing silver. 🙂
