Can You Wear A Tartan Plaid Dress?

DSC_0013The second post of the year, and it is a tartan plaid dress. What??? I never wear dresses, at least not very often. Usually the dresses I wear will be Maxi’s. I think it is because I have really white, really dry, and really pudgy legs. I am all ready starting to dread summer coming and shorts.DSC_0005_2Gotta love navy and kelly green. It is such a classic combination. I have never worn a lot of green, it just was a color I always passed on. My daughter and daughter-in-law both love green, so when I saw this dress, I decided to give it a try. I actually bought it 6 to 8 months ago at the QVC outlet, but it got misplaced. I just came across it this week. I really need to purge and organize. Clothing at the outlet is all the same price, 12.00 for pants, tops, dresses, and 24.00 for coats. Cant beat that with a stick. HahahaDSC_0005_3The navy pinstriped blazer is really old. It is a Jones New York and I have no idea where it came from. Here is a similar one button blazer from J C Penny.DSC_0005How do you like these necklace’s? One is more expensive than the other. The leaf necklace is from Charlotte Russe. I bought it, and a couple more, a few weeks ago. Here is a similar one. The long spike is the Rebel necklace from Stella & Dot. Both look nice, and it is hard to tell there is a 74.00 dollar difference.DSC_0022This purse is a Valentina that I bought a couple years ago. I think I bought it at TJ Maxx, since that is where I buy most of my purses. Of course now that the QVC outlet store started buying some nicer purses, they have been my go to store. I looked on Ebay for a similar purse, but no luck. If you like this one, keep looking because it will eventually show up.DSC_0007Some gold bracelets and black ankle boots finish up this outfit. Don’t get used to me wearing dresses. Unless you come to church with me, you probably won’t see another dress for a while. DSC_0020Just thought you might want to see the dress without the blazer. It didn’t have a label inside the collar, so I have no idea who it is made by. The dark gray tights might not have been the best choice, I thought they were blue when I pulled hem out of the drawer. After I got them on, I decided gray would be fine. Those suckers are aggravating to put on. Lol!

  1. You have got to be the most “real” blogger I know……you look great in anything you wear. Your personality is the shining star……Can’t wait to read your posts.

  2. You look great and I love that dress. Of course I love dresses! So is the outlet an actual store or on line?

    1. It is an actual store. In fact, there are two of these type stores in my town:)

  3. Great looking outfit Tania! I own one dress that I wore to a wedding five years ago and it most likely doesn’t fit anymore. I check your blog daily and really enjoy your sassiness! Keep it up!

  4. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the dress! And navy/green, well two of my favorites! I am a dress girl and always looking for new ways to wear them. I love your blog. You have a great sense of style and are an inspiration for us “everyday” girls over 50. Thanks!

  5. Super cute on you! Love your style.

  6. Love to wear dresses, especially during warmer weather. This dress is a classic beauty and the grey tights look great! I SO Envy you having the QVC outlet so close, lucky duck! Good stuff!

  7. I love to wear casual dresses! I must admit though, I never would have thought to wear a pinstriped jacket with a plaid dress and that’s the very reason why I am a devout follower! Haha You’re always making combinations I wouldn’t think of and you always look fantastic. Thanks for another awesome idea.

  8. Nice outfit! Navy/green is a fav tartan plaid. Very pretty CR necklace!

  9. You look great in that dress! And sorry but I don’t agree that your legs are pudgy. I didn’t know QVC had an outlet. Where is it? I may have to plan a vacation around it!!!

  10. Adorable outfit. I love this blue/green plaid. I actually like dresses, but you’d be hard pressed to find me wearing one during a cold Canadian winter.

You look fabulous! This is an updated classic look and you should reconsider not wearing dresses. You look great every day, but this look knocks it out of the park! Makes you look modern and classy.

  12. You look lovely in a dress! The grey tights are perfect…know what you mean about getting them on tho…torture…

    1. Tights can be pure torture, your right Donna????

  13. Very cute dress. Wish I had a QVC outlet near me. Those prices are great.

  14. You look great in a dress! You should wear them more often.

  15. This dress is very cute! I never wear dresses either! Only have about 5 LBD’s for special occasions! This might be the year I actually will look to buy 1 or 2!

  16. You look fantastic in a dress! I haven’t worn a dress in probably over 15 years (wow!!). I love your purse, just purchased one similar and am waiting for it to arrive on my doorstep! I’ve got work to do on my legs and arms over the next several months to get ready for wearing shorts and short sleeve t’s. Have a great weekend!

  17. I’ve always passed on the color green too, but I do love the navy and green combination on the dress. When I was a working gal I wore many dresses and LOVED dressing up for the office, in fact it was quite competitive between all of the office gals, or at least it felt that way. I miss dresses and high heels, but really have nowhere to wear them these days. That Stella and Dot gold necklace is very nice!

  18. Love this outfit – very well put together!!
