How To Style Black For The Holidays And Still Look Festive
For some reason, I love wearing black for the holidays. Usually, I’m a color-loving girl, but black is my go-to color for all holidays. Today I’m going to show you how to style black for the holidays and still look festive.
Did I mention that I also like to add a little bling for the holidays? This slouchy, oversized Sequin Rib Sweater has just enough sparkle to satisfy my need for bling. Usually, when I buy ribbed clothing, I have to size up, but it is just the opposite for this sweater. If you are between sizes, I suggest sizing down. I love this pale silver color, and I think it will look great even after the holidays, especially with jeans. I’m wearing a medium, and it fits me great.
Velvet looks so luxurious, and I love wearing it for the holidays. This Black Velvet Blazer will elevate any outfit you wear. I love wearing a velvet blazer with jeans; it looks polished and chic. This blazer has a relaxed fit, I’m wearing a medium, and it fits me great.
Here’s a photo where you can see the length of the blazer in the back. The website says this blazer is machine washable, and that’s a nice feature.
I didn’t add a necklace to this outfit because I wanted to let the sweater be the star; however, I did add a pair of Prosecco drop earrings. These earrings have already sold out, but I’ll add other choices. I have the Sip Sip Hooray Champagne Earrings with pearls and crystals, and I love those. These earrings are cute for any celebration or event; I know I’ll wear them for my anniversary and birthday.

These Ponte-Knit Flare Pants are so comfortable. They are lightweight and can be dressed up or worn with a jean jacket for a casual look. The slight flare leg gives the pant a modern look, and they look great with sandals, flats, or boots. I’m wearing my usual size 8, and I think these run true to size.
Here is another way to wear the sequin ribbed sweater. I wanted to add a little flair to my look, and this crushed velvet double-breasted blazer is the perfect addition.
I’m crushing on this gray Crushed Velvet Double-Breasted Blazer; it is gorgeous! I wasn’t sure if I would love the crushed velvet, but it is perfect, and I can’t wait to wear it with jeans and a graphic tee. Crushed velvet is a little more fun and whimsical than a regular velvet item. I’m wearing a size medium, and it fits me perfectly.
I live in leggings almost every day. I prefer a cotton top legging over compression leggings since I’m not working out in them. These Go-To Stretch Cotton Leggings are lightweight but not see-through. I’m 5 ft 6 in tall, and these were long enough for me. I’m wearing a size medium, and they fit nicely, but if you’re between sizes, I suggest sizing up.
You will not believe the price of these gorgeous Faux Suede Block Heel Sandals. They come in several colors, including metallic silver, in case you need a pair for a special event. I saw several reviews talking about the straps being too large; I didn’t have any issue with that. These sandals run true to size, and I’m wearing my usual size 9.
Nordstrom is running a Triple Points event, and Nordy Club Members and Cardmembers can earn Triple Points on their Nordstrom purchases from November 9th through November 13th. I like to use this opportunity to purchase my Christmas gifts and get myself a few things I might need. Since Nordstrom is having a Holiday Deals Sale through the 29th, I’ll show you some of my picks. This is a great time to get your shopping done while earning Nordstrom Notes three times as fast.
Nordstrom offers free shipping and free returns; it is super convenient. I love trying on clothing in the privacy of my home, but I hate paying for shipping and returns. That is one reason I love shopping at Nordstrom; trying new clothing styles never costs me anything. Nordstrom offers BOPUS (Buy Online Pick Up in Store) and contactless curbside pickup options.
Nordstrom and ShopStyle Collective sponsored this post, and I will receive compensation, but the opinions expressed are my own.

Can I just say how glad I am that blazers are back? I had my first black velvet blazer in college in 1973-74 and wore it with everything from evening dresses to my elephant leg hiphugger jeans! All my friends took a turn or two with it as well. I’m afraid that one is long gone now, but I have updated it many times is my life and it is still a go-to for the holidays! Thanks for sharing new ways to wear holiday blazers!
I love black and I love these options!

Our family is very casual for holidays but I love the option of wearing an item that is comfy and pops for the holiday event – at the same time. Love the sweater!
