Spring is on the horizon, and that means warmer temperatures will soon be here. I’ve already been getting messages and requests for swimsuits, so I know you ladies are as anxious as I am for Spring and Summer to arrive. Warmer temperatures mean less clothing, and we will soon be wearing short sleeves and shorts.

My poor legs look so pale in this floral dress and belted trench that I resemble Casper The Ghost. So, before I put on more dresses or shorts, my legs need some attention. In my younger days, I made the mistake of trying to get a golden tan by applying only baby oil. The only thing that I ended up getting was burnt to a crisp, and sunspots all over my legs. Now, I use a faux tanner to achieve a golden tan, but you need to prep your legs before applying. I start using Jergens Natural Glow Sunless Tanning-In-Shower Lotion in early spring to give my legs a light tan.

The first thing that I do is exfoliate my legs. The faux tanner will cling to any rough patches of skin, so exfoliating is a must. My daughter and I went to Walmart and picked up this sugar exfoliating body scrub that smells amazing. It smells just like watermelon, and it has me craving a bowl right now. Lol! I like using an exfoliating glove to apply the body scrub. The texture of the glove seems to work better than using my hands or a cloth.

Next, it is time to shave the forest that has accumulated over the winter. It might not be a forest, but I don’t shave as often in the winter as I do in the summer. I’ve been seeing the Billie Razor all over social media, so I decided to give it a try.

Before shaving, I applied the Billie Shave Cream that is formulated with Shea Butter, Coconut Oil, and Aloe. This formulation gives you gentle protection, deep moisture, and will soothe and calm skin — it’s the perfect barrier between you and your razor. I am especially fond of the whipped texture that is extra gentle and leaves you irritation-free. #nobumps

The Billie Razor Starter Kit comes with one razor, two 5-blade refills, and a magnetic holder to place on your shower wall. I ordered the Dream Pop Starter Kit and matching Dream Pop Travel Case.

The travel case has a magnet in the lid so that the razor “floats” and the blades stay sharp. That is a feature that I would not have thought of by myself.

The travel case makes it easy to pop your razor into your handbag or gym bag as you head to the gym. Using the case will keep your fingers protected as well as the blade.

  1. I like L’oreal Sublime Bronze self tanning serum. It’s lightweight but effective. I use a tanning mit to apply it. I also like tan towels when traveling.

  2. Thanks for the recommendations and tips. I will try the razor once my Costco razor/blades purchase is out. I love Jergens tanner that doesn’t have that weird odor so will check it out. I was quite surprised that the same scrub is at Ulta for half the price.

Just noticed- as you said that the cover for the razor would protect your fingers- that you have a band-aid on the finger holding the razor. Coincidence?

    1. Haha! No, that wasn’t from shaving. I bent back a fingernail and it made my finger bleed.

  4. Timely! Thank you for the tips and so ready for some warmer weather in TN!

    1. Yes, this will be great for warm weather.

  5. Hi Tania
Thank you for all the great tips! I’ve tried the Jergen’s lotion but not the in shower. Gotta give it a try.
Now…where did that beautiful tote come from?

    1. I’m terrible at remembering to put on lotion, so doing it in the shower works great for me.

  6. Jackie Sticha says:

I love the Billie razor too! Will definitely be taking your suggestions on prepping my legs for spring and summer. Thanks Tania!

  7. Thank you!!! I immediately ordered the sugar scrub and self tanner. Your recommendations make a huge difference.

  8. Hi Tania, maybe I haven’t prepped my legs correctly, but I have used Jergens before, and a get more of an orange tint than tan. I did see someone once who looked beautifully tanned and she said that was the product she used. That’s why I tried it. Maybe I’ll give it another try! I think using the lighter shade may also help. I’m a pale northern gurl! 🙂

    1. Kim, I use the kind that you use in the shower. I like it because it is subtle, and you don’t go from being pale to tan in a day. I’ll add darker tanners later in the year.

  9. Love the Billie razor and accessories! I’ve used them for quite a while and would not consider anything else for shaving.

    1. I’ve heard a lot about the Billie, I dint know why I waited so long to try it. 🙄

  10. Sandy Santiago says:

You didn’t say what self tanner you used.

    1. Whoops. Thanks, Sandy for letting me know that I let that slip through the cracks. Here is what I start using in early spring. I usually start around the 1st of March. https://bit.ly/34ZkNPN
