50 Is Not Old | Blogging Pet PeevesWhat are pet peeves? It is something a particular person finds especially annoying. In this case, the particular person is me. When I started blogging, all of 4 months ago, I had no idea what I was doing. I still am not sure if I have a handle on the blogging concept, but I hope I am heading in the right direction. In trying to find MY voice, I have looked at a lot of different blogs. Some of the blogs are about fashion, some makeup, and some are on setting up blogs. I have two pet peeves when it come to blogs. My number one pet peeve is, I HATE blogs who try to draw you in by stating a # of things involved in the post. An example of this would be my title if it said: The ONE Mistake Bloggers Make. The reason they do this, is to get the best of our curiosity. Wouldn’t you just have to know what that one mistake is, so you wouldn’t make that mistake. Every time you click on the blog, regardless of the actual information contained, it counts toward their daily page views. 50 Is Not Old | Blogging Pet Peeves 1I actually caved in to the pressure and did a  post with a # in the title. I could have just used the same title without the # and it would have been the same. I have felt like such a sellout ever since I did that post. I may not get as many page views, but I am going to try not to use a # post just to tempt you in. I have boycotted other blogs when they do this too. 50 Is Not Old | Blogging Pet Peeves 2The second pet peeve I have involves the email subscription link. I literally hate going to a blog, and the first time you move your cursor, a box pops up trying to get you to sign up for their emails. I get that you want subscribers, so do I, but that pop-up box is ANNOYING!!! I do ask for you to sign up for emails at the end of each post, (have you signed up), but I hope that is not as aggravating. I don’t mean to offend anyone, I am just making observations. I guess I’ll get off my soapbox and go back to talking about my clothes. Haha50 Is Not Old | Blogging Pet Peeves 3I wanted to have a close-up of my necklace. If you have read my posts for a while, then you have seen this necklace before. However, I hadn’t laid eyes on this necklace since I went to Tennessee for my grand babies birthday party. Here is the last time I wore it. I knew I had a tote of jewelry missing, but I couldn’t find it anywhere. I woke up thinking about my jewelry and wondering where it was. I was starting to walk out of my bathroom to see if the bag had got kicked under the bed. I turned around to get my glasses, and the bag was sitting on the bottom shelve of my linen closet. (similar) Coincidence,  I don’t think so.50 Is Not Old | Blogging Pet Peeves 4I bought these faux suede pants at Catos before Christmas. This is the first time I have worn them, and I really liked the fit. They are extremely soft and very comfortable. They are no longer on the website, so here is a similar pair.50 Is Not Old | Blogging Pet Peeves 5This picture of the headless person is supposed to be the preferred pin on Pinterest. So if you don’t like my smiling mug on your Pinterst page, here is your photo. The mock turtleneck sweater is old, it is from Old Navy.50 Is Not Old | Blogging Pet Peeves 6The patch work suede coat is a stunner. I bought it years ago at the QVC outlet in town. I always get compliments when I wear it. It is a Denim & Company brand.50 Is Not Old | Blogging Pet Peeves 7The dark brown slouchy boots are also old, and came from the same QVC outlet. Haha! Sorry for rubbing it in, but my little town only got a Wal-Mart about 3 years ago, so we deserve a few shopping outlets. Lol!

This is also something I WANT and NEED:  I have added a subscription button to the blog, right under the recent posts tab. I would appreciate it if you would take the time to sign up. You will then be notified by email when a new post is made.

Thank you sharing your ideas and style !!❤️😍

  2. I’m just now reading this post. Your 70’s inspired outfit is far out! As a new blogger, you certainly DO speak your mind! Honestly, I found your blog a bit hard to follow. From pet peeves, to lost jewelry, to an outfit that you’re styling…….. I hope you don’t mind my honesty, but before you start calling out other bloggers, I’d take a close look at your own. Just keeping it real! 🙂

    1. Julie, I don’t mind honesty at all. I do tend to ramble in my posts, maybe I will improve with time. Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment.

  3. I live in a warm climate so I’m looking forward to seeing your spring and summer posts.
I’m a bit jealous of your ability to wear boots.

  4. Those subscription pop ups drive me crazy too. I typically just close out their webpage and move along. Another thing that I don’t care for is when the blogger rambles on soooo much before getting to their topic. A little is fine, yours is great, some bloggers ramble way too much.
I love that you post yours early in the morning. I love that you are so real. I love that you are a frugal shopper.
And I love the new layout.
Keep up the good work! ????

  5. Thank the blogging gods that honesty still exists in the cyberworld!! LOL I can understand (all too well) how irksome those pop-ups can be. Too often have I personally just closed the tab because they appeared more than once. I mean, I understand the need to datamine and how that can be an immense source of revenue for any blogger but there has to be a way of collating that data in a transparent, easy and not as annoying fashion 🙂

p/s I adore your coat, adore adore adore.
