50 IS NOT OLD | ARE YOU LIVING BOLD | FASHION OVER 40Are you living your life bold? I bet that 80% of you said no, that you are actually living your life in the safe zone. I get it, I have been the worst over the years to not want to try something new. It didn’t matter if it was only trying a new food item I was just stuck in a rut. I tell Emersyn all the time that she doesn’t have to “eat” the item but she does need to at least “try” the item. I will tell her to take a bite and if she doesn’t like it that she can spit it out in the trashcan. She has been very good and open to this concept. But, are you?50 IS NOT OLD | ARE YOU LIVING BOLD | FASHION OVER 40Since so many of you tell me that you “can’t” wear this or that then I assume that means you are unwilling to even try new things. Like spitting out a food you don’t like, you can take off the offending item and you don’t have to actually wear it. I am not sure if it is my age that has made me bolder in my decisions but something has clicked. I have gotten bolder in my fashion. I have gotten bolder in my personal life. I have gotten bolder in taking risks that before would have made me a nervous wreck. The point is that you can be bold also. When I am old then I shall wear purple is a poem that celebrates the individual that is you. Don’t let anyone else hold you back and keep you from reaching your potential. I never knew that I had what it took to become a blogger but I am glad that I tried. I never knew that I could get up in front of people and lead a training but I am glad that I did. I never knew that I would have the courage to start a new business in my 50’s but I am glad that I did. I bet there are a lot of you that have been risk-takers too and I can’t wait to hear from you.
50 IS NOT OLD | ARE YOU LIVING BOLD | FASHION OVER 40I received this 57 Year Bold t-shirt in the mail the other day from Chico’s and I was pleasantly surprised. They had sent me an email earlier in the year asking for my sizes but I had completely forgotten about that. I told them a large because I hate getting something and it being too small. This, however, ended up being way too big for me. I love the shirt though and I wanted to wear it. I have seen younger women wearing shirts that were too big by tying the bottom hem in a knot. What do you think? Can you tell that the shirt is too big? 50 IS NOT OLD | ARE YOU LIVING BOLD | FASHION OVER 40The cheetah print earrings were also from Chico’s back last fall. I received them from a blog reader as a gift and I loved them. The tassel style is cute and fun and I would like to think that is how I am also. Lol! They are no longer available but you know I found some cute things to link to below. The Sawyer bird leather cuff is also really cute. I liked how it had an edgy vibe that seemed to go with the outfit. Plunder will be launching their new jewelry line April 6th. That means that the items that are going to be retiring will no longer be available.

50 IS NOT OLD | ARE YOU LIVING BOLD | FASHION OVER 40The frayed hem jeans are a pair that I got recently from Old Navy. I really like Old Navy jeans because they fit me well and they are super affordable. I like trying new trends and styles but I don’t want to spend a fortune on them. Trends might only last a year or so and by buying from Old Navy I can feel like I still got my monies worth out of them. I also added a cheetah print wristlet today. This was a new purchase that I made at the overstock store in town. I didn’t even pay any attention until today when I looked inside the wristlet that there was a matching charger inside. I plugged it up to make sure that it had a good charge and then I hooked my dead phone up to it and it worked!!! I got a two-in-one with that purchase. Lol! It is by Aimee Kestenberg and it is on sale for only 26.12!

  1. Tania I just ordered that wristlet. This is a cute weekend look. It has been said that Im bold i say how i feel and I wear what I want. But when it comes to true boldness like taking a leap of faith I have a yellow streak the length of the east coast.

I read your blog, but noticed you haven’t done a You Tube in a while, is there anyway you could show us your outfits and talk about them each week? maybe capture daily videos and compile them once a week with a voice over telling us all about your clothes and jewerly? You are so talented and creative in pulling together any outfit and adding accessories, Id love to watch it in YouTube!

Well, this year I stepped out of my comfort zone and ran for public office! County Assessor at that. After I did it I said to myself are you nuts ? this requires putting yourself out there in the public eye for all to see! I have to do meet and greets and there is some studying for the position, a 500 page tutorial to be exact!!! I’ve never been good at putting myself out there or public speaking, this position requires some of that too! We will see how it all comes out in November. I pray I get through it without saying something stupid or forgetting what to say! Wish me Luck!!?

    1. Jennifer, I saw that you announced this the other day of FaceBook. I actually remember thinking how courageous that was. I truly don’t know if “I” would have the courage. But, you will fail 100% of the time that you don’t try so you have a MUCH better chance than that. Lol!!! Good luck, I am sure that you will do fine.

I just started following you a few weeks ago. Of course I found you on Pinterest! I love your style and think you are a great inspiration to those of us in our 50’s! No, your T-shirt doesn’t look too big, just looks comfy! You look great as always!

  5. Cute! I try not to wear clothes that are to big because I feel they make me look sloppy. The way you knotted this T-shirt looks great. Have a wonderful Saturday.

  6. love the tied look, it is cute and a way to wear something with a new look.

I NEEDED this today!! I have been stuck in a job I hate, ruled by a horrible bully of a boss, but fear of change has kept me stagnant. After the latest beat down this week, I reluctantly accepted a new opportunity with a small start up. I’m scared to death, 48, and taking a pay cut, but something kept telling me this was what I needed to do. I’ve jumped out of an airplane, so why I’m so afraid to take this leap is beyond me. I WILL be bold. That will be my motto every morning as I step out the door on my way to my new job. Thank You!!

    1. YES!!! Jamie, I am so proud of you! This is a huge step and the uncertainty is the problem. I know it is scary but just keep your eyes open to see the opportunity. You have taken off the blinders and that is the first step. Write some notes and put them around the house to remind you that YOU ARE BOLD!
