DSC_0017You don’t think I am going to tell you the winner of the blanket scarf right now, do you? You have to keep reading to find out. Haha Todays post is going to be a little different. I had to attend an event last night, and didn’t get home till 10:00 p.m. Beside watching West Wing for the third time, I also go to sleep almost every night around 10:00 p.m. So, there will not be a lot of talking today.DSC_0022My event was the Chamber of Commerce Annual Banquet in our county. The woman’s club that I am a member of, partners with the chamber, and holds a silent auction. I helped with the bidding tables, and checking out the bidders.DSC_0024Now, I am going to blow my own horn. At last year’s banquet, I was honored as the county’s “Volunteer of the Year”. I called my mother the next morning to tell her my exciting news. She immediately told me I had messed up, “now people will be calling you to do everything”. Yep, she knows how to take the wind out of my sails.DSC_0030Now for the outfit; the vest is by Me Jane. The quartz necklace is on a leather strap and is from Mountain Primadonna.DSC_0027The rose colored watch is from Relic, and has a dark brown face. The bracelets were bought in Atlanta. One is a By the Book bracelet, and the other says Amazing Grace. I bought both of them at a little tea shop of the square in Marietta, Ga.DSC_0018The sweater skirt is from Maurices. I bought two of them that day, and I love both of them. A pair of tights, along with my leather boots, round out my outfit. Well, that and my retired Stella & Dot purse.DSC_0025Sorry for the lack of links to the parts of the outfit, but blame it on me needing sleep.

Drumroll please……..The winner of the scarf is Connie. If your name is Connie, look for an email to see if you are the right one. Haha

  1. I really love that look. I would never have guessed it was a skirt. How do you get such a great fit on the vest? I’m short and I have a hard time with that style, it looks too boxy on me.

    1. Margie, I always had that problem too. By accident I found this one, which I of course wanted. When I looked at the size, I knew it was a size smaller than I usually wear. That is what worked. Because it is smaller, it pulls apart in the front and doesn’t overwhelm you. So, go to a store and give it a try. ????

  2. When I read your post I thought, “her Mom is right” and then I read the comments and your Mom said she was right. Ha, ha, yay for Mom! Your outfit is so cute and your writing makes me laugh! My Mom passed away this past July and I would give anything to talk to her. I bet your Mom is so proud of your blog.

    1. Tee, don’t encourage my mother. Haha

  3. Sooooo cute!!! I ordered 2 BTB bracelets last night because of your post (from the link you provided)!!! Thanks for sharing!

  4. Love the skirt and the vest. You will have to admit that I was right on the being asked to volunteer. Your father always ask them not to mention his name when he does something. We have several neighbors and family members that have lost husbands so he is kept busy with helping them.

  5. I LOVE this outfit! So cute! It looks fantastic on you. Seriously!

Yep, once people know you volunteer, you get all the phone calls. After many years on the board of a few organizations, I have learned to only say “yes” to the things I’m passionate about. My attitude has definitely changed since my 50th birthday last winter!

  6. Congrats to Connie!! 🙂 and congrats to you on being recognized for your serving heart!
I have to say this outfit, top to bottom, is just fabulous! That vest is crazy adorable, and I love the skirt! Pefect match on the tights too. This outfit is 100% winner winner chicken dinner!

  7. Well I am a Connie. Wish it could be me but no email so far. Either way I am a winner. I look to your style every morning. Its so great to see your creativity and you having fun with your clothes! Love the vest! I wear all black everyday to work because the company I work for requires it but you better believe I will be stepping it up on the days off! You are such an inspiration. Fashion should be fun and you make it that! Thank you.
