50 IS NOT OLD | AN INSPIRATION OUTFIT | FASHION OVER 40I am all the time telling stories about Joe and some of the funny things that he does. But, I am afraid that the tables have turned, and he is insisting that I tell a story on myself. Lol! I told him to get his own blog if he wanted a story told, but that didn’t seem to go over very well. Lol!
50 IS NOT OLD | AN INSPIRATION OUTFIT | FASHION OVER 40It is all his fault; anyway, he gives me way too much to do. He recently switched to a different hanger for his airplane because the airport in town is closing down. When he got his new hanger, he had to switch the electric into his name. This was about three or four months ago, and I had forgotten all about this. Yesterday he was all in a tizzy wanting to know if I had seen an electric bill on the hanger come through. I told him that I hadn’t seen the bill, and that sent him into a panic. “They are going to turn off my electricity off in my hanger” was what he kept saying over and over again. Then he called the lumber company to see if he had sent the bill there, instead of sending it to the house. They hadn’t seen the bill either. I told him that we could call the power company and check on the bill if we had the meter number. This went on all day long until he finally got the power company on the phone and had them search the account by the meter number. It turns out the bill had been mailed to the house, and it turns out that “I” had written a check last month and paid the bill. LOL! It turns out that he had been in a tizzy for no reason. Hahaha! I looked in my checkbook and said, “was the amount 52.87?” Oh well, he should pay his own bills. Lol!
50 IS NOT OLD | AN INSPIRATION OUTFIT | FASHION OVER 40This outfit is all old items, except for my shoes. I can’t even begin to tell you how old this top is, or where I bought the top. I only know that I liked the soft muted colors, the pretty medallion print, and how it had a unique neckline that gave it even more visual interest. This is one of those posts where I want you to take this as an inspiration, not as a “buy this” now. I just went to check the tag and see where the top was from, and it is from Talbots. Talbots is having a great sale; I just bought several things last night.

50 IS NOT OLD | AN INSPIRATION OUTFIT | FASHION OVER 40I am not wearing a lot of jewelry with today’s look. The Dallin gold hoop earrings are my go-to when I am in a hurry. They go with anything, and they are a perfect size. The Anadia features a druzy cream bar on a silver chain. My bracelets are a part of the Rachel set that features four bracelets.
50 IS NOT OLD | AN INSPIRATION OUTFIT | FASHION OVER 40My Tory Burch flats are the one new item in my outfit. I bought these with my 1,000 Nordstrom shopping spree that I earned from Rodan + Fields. They are super comfortable, and I was surprised at how good they looked with the gray jeans. Here is the link to the shoes.
50 IS NOT OLD | AN INSPIRATION OUTFIT | FASHION OVER 40These are a pair of my favorite jeans. I love the faded distressed looking gray color. This pair of jeans fit like a glove, and I bought them at Old Navy.

50 IS NOT OLD | AN INSPIRATION OUTFIT | FASHION OVER 40Do you and your husband have a “song” that is special to you? Mine and Joe’s song is Forever and Ever Amen by Randy Travis. We were having an argument when this song came on, and then we immediately realized how silly we had been. In the song, it talks about growing old together and sitting on the porch in a rocking chair. When the time comes for me to sit and rock the day away, I want to make sure that I don’t have many regrets to haunt me. There are things that I already regret, but I am now trying to live my life in such a way, that regrets are not going to be on my mind. You are capable of so much more, don’t hold yourself back! Blogging has been an adventure and something that I could have easily not done since I didn’t know a thing about the process. Running my own skincare business was something that I would have never thought about doing a few years ago, but I am so glad that I jumped in with both feet. When I am old and gray (or older and grayer), I can know that those decisions will not be regretted. Come out of the shadows, surprise yourself, and live your life to the fullest.

BTW, I wanted to thank all of you for all of the comments yesterday. You outdid yourself! I couldn’t reply to all of them since I had to work at the lumber company, but I did read every one of them! Now, let’s do it again today. Lol!

  2. Girl, I CANNOT believe you only got two comments on that adorable outfit 2 days ago, and I am So sorry that I was one of those that didn’t reply,!! It’s only because I’ve been SO busy helping my honey build me some barn wood book shelves this week and didn’t have time to get on line But I absolutely love that long kimono look w the crop jeans and print tank! I would love to have that outfit and have been looking for something like that! I also loved the striped dress and pink sweater! So classy and fun too! Loads of adorable outfits this week and I’m sorry I missed them. Also I’ve had a hard week as a friend of mine, a fire fighter was severely burned in an explosion here 6 wks ago passed away Sunday and our town has been devastated by this tragedy.

  3. Love the outfit, totally like something I wear, so great inspiration. May need to try those gray jeans too! For our song, I would say it would have to be Jon Secada Just Another Day. Was popular in ’92 and we loved it. He played it on the stereo when we got engaged. 🙂 Thanks for the memory!

  4. You have such beautiful skin! And love the lipstick color!
