AFFORDABLE FASHIONS FOR CASUAL OR DRESSY EVENTS

Happy Monday! This will be a great week because I’ll have all my children and grandchildren under one roof. This week will be fantastic; next week will be a week of recovery. Lol! I’ve learned to go with the flow when everyone is around and not to get upset over changed plans, loud noises, messes all over the house, broken items, or stains. Items can be replaced, but the memories will last a lifetime.

Joe, however, might decide to visit someone for the entire week. Lol! He isn’t as flexible and hates noise with a passion, so he will be stressed most of the week. Why is it that children will turn on the TV as loudly as possible, then pick up an iPad and play a game? They don’t even watch the TV; they love noise. Lol! I’ve introduced Joe to AirPods, so hopefully, he will be able to survive the coming week. Hahaha!

I am a natural blonde, although my hair color now gets plenty of help from my DIL/hairdresser. I’ve always thought that blondes looked great wearing pink, which is one of the colors I gravitate toward. I recently found this Bright Pink Short Sleeve Blouse, and since it was under $20, I decided to give it a try.

This blouse is lightweight, which is great for the hot days of summer. I like the style of the shirt, the rounded hem, and the silky feel of the material. It falls away from your body, so it doesn’t show the lumps and bumps of my stomach. I’m wearing a medium, and the fit is great and somewhat relaxed. You can dress this top up or down, and it would look great with shorts, jeans, or a skirt.

I love jewelry and wear it daily, even if I’m only lounging around the house. The amount of jewelry I wear depends on the outfit, so when I’m lounging, I’m probably only wearing my 18 Kt. Gold Vermeil Cross necklace. For this look, I’m wearing the Adeline Chain Link Necklace, the cross necklace, a David Yurman Cable Loop Bracelet, and 3 Riveria Stretch Bracelets. The beaded hoop earrings are a pair from Chico’s but aren’t available online, so I’ll link to some similar ones below.

This Signature Coach Crossbody is a great bag to carry since it matches everything. I love the light khaki and chalk color combination, and the medium size of the bag holds everything I need. This handbag can be dressed up or down and looks great with jeans.

These White Perfect Crops are comfortable and roomy. I like the lightweight material; it is great for the summer heat. The tab button feature at the hem is a unique detail; I think they look modern and sporty. I saw in the comments that some hate that feature, so it is a matter of style. These run true to size, and I’m wearing a size 10 because I always size up when I’m wearing white.

Let me apologize for the quality of these photos. I don’t know why the portrait mode was wonky, but some images are fuzzed when they don’t need to be. I think you can still see the photos well enough, and I have some up-close photos that might help.

I feel like every woman needs to have a little black dress in their closet. You can wear a black dress for almost any occasion, which can look elegant or casual depending on how you choose to accessorize. This adorable Ruffled Swing Dress is flattering and has a fit and flared style. The dress looks way more expensive than the price, which is under $30.

I think the ruffled bodice/sleeves help to give you an hourglass shape, and since I hold my weight in my waist, I appreciate this design detail. This dress runs small, and I’m wearing a size XL, and it fits me great.

Look at this Ostrich Feather Embellished Clutch!!! If you read my blog post about trends for 2022, you saw texture and feathers on the list. I am not digging feathers on clothing, but I love this statement clutch, the feathers give it style galore, and it is so CHIC looking. This is not “affordable fashion,” but adding a statement piece with affordable pieces looks great and elevates your overall look.

These Block Heel Sandals are by Naturalizer, and you know that means comfort. The block heel is easy to walk in, and the strap around your ankle doesn’t bind you. I am not a fan of ankle straps that go around your ankle because they tug and pull every time I take a step. But, these crisscross over my foot, and I find them way more comfortable. Also, on the plus side, the heels look sexy! I find these run true to size, and I’m wearing my usual size 9.

I added the AVI Large Statement Hoop Earrings and Layton Statement Necklace from Kendra Scott. The necklace is no longer available, but I found one HERE on eBay in the gold color and one HERE in Red Oyster.
