A SWEATER BLAZER AND SKINNY JEANS FOR A SEMI-CASUAL LOOK

Welcome to the weekend! I am ready to just sit back and chill this morning and just enjoy a strong cup of coffee. We had friends over last night, and I ended up eating way too much. I didn’t end up cooking but instead called for takeout because Friday turned out to be a BEAST for me. It is now officially filed under the heading, “if it can go wrong, it will.”

There are occasions when I have to write TWO blog posts in one day. I need one for my normal post, and there are times when I am working with a brand that I need to send in a “draft” post for them to view. The problem was that I had forgotten that the draft post was due on Friday and I already had a full day planned out. I woke up early and started the post, then I had to take some photos, and get the post sent out for approval. Because we had company coming over that night, I was thrilled that I had someone coming to clean for me. Guess what? Yep, you guessed it, she called and said that she couldn’t come because there was something wrong with her car. We have an amazing Italian restaurant in town, so I fixed a caesar salad and ordered a large pan of baked ziti for us to eat. Add in a bottle of wine and a couple of Cannolis, and we ended up having a wonderful time. I am glad that friends can overlook the fact that the floors needed vacuuming.

This leopard print sweater blazer is surely eye-catching. It looks fabulous worn buttoned or opened, and I love the length of the blazer. It hits me at the hips, so there are a lot of flaws covered when this is all buttoned up. It has a shawl collar, long sleeves, and two front pockets. Plus, this blazer is machine washable to make my life easier. I ordered a large in the blazer so that I could wear it with a long-sleeve chambray shirt, and it fits me great.

I’ll wear it with the chambray shirt later this fall, but for now, I decided to wear it with this Sienna colored v-neck linen cami. This cami is lightweight and soft to the touch. It is 100% linen, but it is also washable. The fit is loose, and I should have ordered a medium instead of a size large. It is a little big one me, but I decided to keep it anyway.

I felt like the blazer called for some jewelry, so I added the KAIA gold hoops. Even though these hoops are large, they aren’t obnoxiously big. I also added my Beckett necklace and link bracelet, along with the Maggie filigree bangle. The Beckett necklace and bracelet can even be joined to make a longer necklace, and I like having the versatility. I’ve worn all of these items over and over again, and that is because they go with anything and always make the outfit look so much nicer.

I’m wearing a pair of high-rise skinny ankle jeans from Chicos. These jeans are available in two different colors, and I am wearing the Deep Lagoon color. I’m wearing a size .5 in these jeans, (I normally wear a size 10) and I think that they fit me great. These will the perfect jeans to wear with knee boots this winter.
My shoes are from Dr. Scholls, and I bought them when Nordstrom has their Anniversary sale. This is my first pair of Dr. Scholl’s shoes, and I am very impressed with the support and padding. I don’t wear a lot of flats, but I like the style of this pair. The simple bar across the top adds some style, and the padding in the footbed adds loads of comfort. I am wearing the honey leather color and my usual size 9, which fits perfectly.

I forgot to tell you about the Vince Camuto Crossbody handbag that I was carrying in some of the photos. This bag is the perfect size for carrying all of your essentials and this seashell color is a great neutral that will go with everything. The bag is lambskin, so you know how soft and subtle it is.

Your style looks so much better than the Jcrew model!
Love the animal print jacket. I’ll check it out on J. Crew site.
It is really nice.
I will never tire of Animal prints. My mom wore them back in the sixties and I always think of her when I wear them. She passed in the sixties when I was 16. I expect her to be wearing them when I first see her in Heaven! LOL
Me neither. I love animal print, and I’ll be wearing it for a loooong time to come.
