A SUMMER STYLE MUST HAVE
Today, Joe accused me of spreading a bad mood all around to everyone who came in contact with me. You gurls know me, does that sound right to you? My day started simple enough. I got up early, (at least for me) I did my devotional, checked emails, and sent out the blog. Then I fed all of the animals and finally ate breakfast. I decided not to go to the lumber company because I had everything pretty much caught up, and I had let a lot of my “stuff” fall through the cracks. So, I took a shower, did a live video in a FB group, and then settled in to make a list of things that I wanted to get accomplished.
That is when things started to go south. As Joe was leaving out, he told me to clean out the pool filters. I must have already been in a bad mood because I tossed a writing pad to him and snapped, “if you have any other honey-do things for me to do, then you better write it down because I am swamped.” Then I showed him my to-do list that I already had in the making, and he headed out the door. Then my son calls with a little, “mom, can you do this for me” item. Then Joe calls and needs something at work, and I might have snapped again. Well, to be honest, I might have hung up sharply. Lol! I went to work wearing (this) but, I didn’t even care. It wasn’t long before everyone was snapping at each other, but somehow, my mood improved. I told Joe that he must have been correct, and I must have given away my bad mood. He disagreed, however, because when he came home, he only stayed about 5 minutes before he said that he needed to get out of the house. Lol! Finally…peace and quiet which was all I was wanting. Lol!
If I had worn this to work, it would have been hard to have been in a bad mood. This is a happy outfit and a mood elevator. I love this floral print off the shoulder blouse. As you can see, I chose not to wear the blouse in a true off the should look, and it instead looks like a boatneck style. I do this a lot, mainly because it is so hard to get the off the should style to stay put when you move your arms. Am I the only one who has that problem? This top is 100% cotton, and I am wearing a large. I like the drawstring at the waist, and I cinched it up to fit. This top is under 25.00, but the sizes are limited. Here is the link, and here is where I wore it early this year, but with black pants instead. I think that I am partial to the white. Let me know which you like best.
The earrings are part of this month’s Plunder Posse. I love the cranberry color, and the necklace that matches the necklace is fabulous. It is a long single strand of cranberry beads, and each end has crystals and pearls with a long leather tassel. It is beautiful! Here is the link to the Posse for this month so that you can check it out for yourself.
A white linen wide-leg pant is a summer must-have. I have worn these pants so much since I bought them that they are almost threadbare. The first time that I ever remember seeing someone wear white wide-leg pants was about ten years ago. I was at the lake with my son and his wife, and she was wearing a gauzy pair of white pants with a wide leg. I have been in love with that style ever since. Lol!

I have the very good solution for keeping the blouse off the shoulders ….. get the thin type of elastic that comes in small pkg at Walmart in the notions section…. cut strips into about 9in strips two for each blouse. Whip stitch the elastic from top of inside sleeve to the other side! Repeat on other sleeve . I ALWAYS WEAR A STRETCHY TANK UNDER ALL MY CLOTHES AND CANT WEAR STRAPLESS BRA BECAUSE THE GIRLS ARE MUCH TO BIG ….wth this technique you can wear a reg bra which is a HUGE PLUS FOR ME …. plus my tank ! Put the blouse on and put the elastic UNDER YOUR ARM AND PUT ARM THROUGH YOUR SLEEVES! I put the blouse on then take my bra straps and tank straps and put those off my shoulder until I put my arms through the elastic then put my straps back up !! The elastic under your arm keeps your straps and top from riding up and you can move as you please and the blouse stays off your shoulder!!!! So from top of arm seam to top of arm seam….. elastic will be under your arms …. works perfect! Plus you can still wear it the other way also! Hope this helps!
There is a fix for off-the-shoulder tops and I’ve used it and it does work. Go to Youtube and search for off-the-shoulder hacks and do the one with a hair-tie and 2 safety pins. It worked so well that I now just get out thread and needle and sew the hair-tie in. You cannot feel the hair-tie under your arm pit and the shoulders stay where you want them to.
Beautiful top!
Wow! No mistaking your arrival wearing such a bold top. Takes me back to the fabulous 80’s. Regards – Jill stylishatsixty

I love your blog and I especially love you are willing to share your and Joe’s life —- it is so sweet. You two are so in love and you can tell from your stories. I have been married to my husband for 29 years and I read your blog to him —- we both love it and love your heart for each other and the Lord. Y’all bring a smile to our face.
You look amazing in this outfit! I love the colors in the top. And yes, I cannot get an off the shoulder style to stay off my shoulders either. 🙂
You look so pretty …love the outfit. It really pops! I look forward to your daily blogs. Thank you for being real about life.
Thanks, Donna! I assume that we all have those “real life” moments. Lol!
One of my favorite outfits on you. I actually like it better as a boat neck – even more flattering. Both ways I think it is a great outfit and really shows off your figure.
I love a boatneck style top. So, wearing it in that manner suits me fine.
You look absolutely beautiful in this outfit. I like both white and black but prefer white I think. Love how you switched out earrings. You look stunning!
Thanks, Pat!
I love the white, wide leg pants. It makes the outfit look so clean and summery.
I agree 100%, Angela.
Both looks are pretty but I prefer the top with the black pants. It is a dressier look and it makes the top pop.
Really, Crystal? See, that is why people don’t dress alike. I prefer the white pants, possibly because it seems more summery.
This top is beautiful on you. The colors really brighten your face (and your mood?).
Shew, something sure needed to brighten my foul mood. Haha!
This is a really cute, colorful outfit. Perfect for summer. I love the puffy sleeves and drawstring waist. I agree the white pants are a nice, choice.
Claudine, I liked the sleeves and the drawstring too.
Ah, don’t be to hard on Joe! Hahaha. But you look lovely anyway!
Joe deserves EVERYTHING that he gets. Lol!
Why is it family always does that when you are in the middle of something? The top and leggings outfit you ran out in was cute enough to put you in a better mood!
I like today”s top with white!
It seems like they do it every time, Janet. Lol!
