A STATEMENT JACKET THAT SCREAMS LUXURY

I am starting to feel like those stores you go into, and it seems like they decorate for Halloween and then for Christmas. Thanksgiving is almost completely skipped over, and I’ve always resisted and hated that. I love having each holiday celebrated and given their due amount of time in the spotlight. Thanksgiving is one of the holidays that I love the most, and food is only a small part of that reason. Lol!

Thanksgiving is one time of the year when we all stop for just a minute and focus on what we are thankful for. We eat lots of good food, take a few naps, and I always like watching the parades. This year has thrown everything into a spiral, and nothing is normal about the holidays. People are shopping earlier, maybe because of the fear of shortages or the fear of getting the gifts delivered on time. So, I’ll be getting my holiday gift guides to you sooner than ever since I usually wait until closer to Black Friday. Honestly, it seems like the stores are already in Black Friday mode and are offering more and more specials all of the time. The first gift guide will be at the end of this post, and more will follow tomorrow.

When I ordered this pullover, I thought it was a sweatshirt. I was pleasantly surprised when this came in to find out that it was a sweater instead. If I had looked at the description, then I would have seen that it said a “knit sweater.” I love this relaxed style, and I can see myself wearing this for my weekend look. This pullover knit sweater comes in several different prints, but I loved the crispness of the white. I am wearing a medium in this sweater, and it is plenty roomy.

This Sam Edleman lambskin leather moto jacket is quite a statement jacket. It is soft and subtle, yet it is heavy and structured. I have no idea how you can be both, but it somehow works for this jacket. The hardware is nice and heavy, and everything about this jacket screams luxury. It is on sale for $150.00 off, so this is at a steal! I am wearing a large which is perfect when you want to wear a sweater with it. Here is a different take for a moto jacket, and it is one of my favorite looks.
***When I ordered this jacket, I also ordered another one to see which I liked the best. The other one is supposed to arrive later today because it got delayed for a small time. The Sam Edleman is getting limited in sizes, so give this one a look if your size is not available.

I’m wearing my favorite style of jeans, the so-slimming girlfriend jeans from Chico’s. These black jeans hug me in all of the right places, and my legs look a mile long. I am wearing my normal size .5 in these jeans, but in other brands, I will wear a size 10. I added a new pair of pointy-toe booties, and I love the scrunch shaft on these. Here are a few other black jeans for you to choose from.

One year my daughter was Elsa and my son was the Batman. They were just darling at 4 and 6! Not that they aren’t darling now, but…
my favorite costume for my girls was the year they dressed up as a red and orange M & M each wearing a tutu. So cute. I tried to add a picture but I am not tech savvy and could not figure out how to upload it. By the way, love the sweater and just bought one for me and one for a Christmas gift for my youngest daughter.
When I think of Halloween costumes what comes to mind are the two I made my sons when they were young. They dressed as fruit of the loom grapes. One green one purple. No sewing involved, but a lot of hot air! 🎈
Hi Tanya! Thanks for putting together the gift ideas post. Looking forward to more. I’m not tech savvy enough to post photos, but my favorite costume has been my daughter (she’s 12 now) who dressed up as a unicorn for 6 straight years. We had to purchase 3 different costumes over the years.😁. But she loved unicorns, so that’s all she wanted to be. This year, sadly, she thinks that’s babyish so she’s dressing up as a devil.
Miss those years!!
TGIF!
My favorite costume was the home made jack in the box we made for my son who won 1st place at school parade!
Love the sweater today! I don’t know whether you remember the Carol Burnett show (love her!), but she always did a skit where she was a cleaning lady and dressed in a ratty dress with rags hanging off and a scarf around her head and she had a bucket on wheels with a mop stuck in it. Funny skit! But anyway, my mom (who sort of looked like Carol Burnett minus the red hair) dressed like that. She looked so cute and funny!
My son was cousin it from the addams family one year. It was the best costume I ever made.
LOVE the toy ideas. Thanks so much. You are awesome. I like the sweater too.

OLD FASHION PB FUDGE RECIPE!
2 C sugar
1/2 C whole milk
1C PB
1 tsp vanilla
Grease 8 x 8 pan
Bring milk and sugar to a boil over med heat.
Boil 2 1/2 minutes, keep stirring
Remove from hear add PB AND VANILLA.
I USUALLY SIT THE PAN IN A COOL BATH WATER IN THE SINK AND FINISH STIRRING.
* If for some reason it comes out crumbly just a a few tbsp milk to moisture before pouring in the pan, rarely happens to me. 🎃 enjoy!
I dressed up as a baby with footie pajamas and pigtails and carried a big lollipop and calf bottle. My girlfriends and I went to a bar and a handsome young man asked me out on a date and we’ve been married 38 years.
