A STATEMENT JACKET THAT SCREAMS LUXURY
I am starting to feel like those stores you go into, and it seems like they decorate for Halloween and then for Christmas. Thanksgiving is almost completely skipped over, and I’ve always resisted and hated that. I love having each holiday celebrated and given their due amount of time in the spotlight. Thanksgiving is one of the holidays that I love the most, and food is only a small part of that reason. Lol!
Thanksgiving is one time of the year when we all stop for just a minute and focus on what we are thankful for. We eat lots of good food, take a few naps, and I always like watching the parades. This year has thrown everything into a spiral, and nothing is normal about the holidays. People are shopping earlier, maybe because of the fear of shortages or the fear of getting the gifts delivered on time. So, I’ll be getting my holiday gift guides to you sooner than ever since I usually wait until closer to Black Friday. Honestly, it seems like the stores are already in Black Friday mode and are offering more and more specials all of the time. The first gift guide will be at the end of this post, and more will follow tomorrow.
When I ordered this pullover, I thought it was a sweatshirt. I was pleasantly surprised when this came in to find out that it was a sweater instead. If I had looked at the description, then I would have seen that it said a “knit sweater.” I love this relaxed style, and I can see myself wearing this for my weekend look. This pullover knit sweater comes in several different prints, but I loved the crispness of the white. I am wearing a medium in this sweater, and it is plenty roomy.
This Sam Edleman lambskin leather moto jacket is quite a statement jacket. It is soft and subtle, yet it is heavy and structured. I have no idea how you can be both, but it somehow works for this jacket. The hardware is nice and heavy, and everything about this jacket screams luxury. It is on sale for $150.00 off, so this is at a steal! I am wearing a large which is perfect when you want to wear a sweater with it. Here is a different take for a moto jacket, and it is one of my favorite looks.
***When I ordered this jacket, I also ordered another one to see which I liked the best. The other one is supposed to arrive later today because it got delayed for a small time. The Sam Edleman is getting limited in sizes, so give this one a look if your size is not available.
I’m wearing my favorite style of jeans, the so-slimming girlfriend jeans from Chico’s. These black jeans hug me in all of the right places, and my legs look a mile long. I am wearing my normal size .5 in these jeans, but in other brands, I will wear a size 10. I added a new pair of pointy-toe booties, and I love the scrunch shaft on these. Favorite costume was when my husband and I, and another couple went dressed as the California raisins. Even got the guys to wear black tights. We were the hit of the house party. Great memories.

I work as a special education aide and our team always try to dress in a theme. This was a year we dressed as emojis.
My favourite costume is when my cousin and I went to a community social in a neighboring small rural hall. We were adults and I dressed up as Oscar the Grouch. I sewed the mask from fun fur and wore all green, right down to my spray painted shoes. A plastic garbage can with shoulder straps and the bottom removed became my ‘home”. That was over 35 yrs ago, and if my memory serves me correct I won first prize. Those were the days!
I don’t like to rush Christmas either. Although I do start shopping and making my gifts and such ahead of time. I love my fall decorations! I don’t start decorating for Christmas until the day after Thanksgiving. AND I leave my Christmas decorations up until after Epiphany so that I can enjoy them after the craziness of the holidays.
Love this outfit. Especially love the jacket. Only small sizes left unfortunately. My favorite costume was when my daughter went to a classmates Halloween party dressed as Snow White and on one knew who she was for quite sometime. Finally the classmates mom asked her who she was and she won best costume.

My favorite costume was when we lived in England and went to a party dressed in outfits from the Victorian times!

My favorite Halloween costume was of my brother. My sisters and brother went to a church Halloween party as kids. My brother has natural curly blond hair and blue eyes. He was dressed as a girl. He had on a ruffled dress, with girly accessories and shoes. When they gave out prizes for the best dressed my brother wasn’t picked. My sister mentioned his costume and the judges were shocked. He looked so much like a girl that they thought he was just a little girl. He had to go prove who he was. We all laughed when they realized who he was, our younger brother Troy. I think he was kinda embarrassed but with 6 sisters he was used to playing dress up and being and all the things your sisters can do to you.
I have similar jacket – do you ever keep on and wear as a layer?
My favorite Halloween costume when I was a kid is my southern Belle dress with a hoop skirt. It was a pain to wear, but so beautiful!
