A NEW HAIRSTYLE CAN MAKE YOU FEEL ALIVE

I am always encouraging everyone to try new things, get out of their comfort zone, and not get in a rut. But, I found myself in a rut, and I decided that I needed a change. Knowing you need a change, and knowing what to change, are two completely different things. Finally, I decided that the change was going to be my hairstyle…

I’ve been wearing my hair a medium length for a long time, and I feel like it is weighing me down. So, this weekend, I told Joe that I was ready to wack it all off. The last time that I cut it short, I was pregnant with my daughter and hormonal. It was not a good choice, and the results were horrible. Joe threatened me with bodily harm if I ever did that again. Lol!

Going short with my hair is not easy for me since I have thick and coarse hair. I can end up looking like a puff ball, and that isn’t the look that I am going for. So, I showed Joe a few styles, and he said that I might want to consider something that was a little longer. Then he said, “but, I know you and you’re going to do whatever you want.”

Monday afternoon, I went to the hairstylist and showed her my choice. I told her to leave it a little longer than the photo, but after looking at the finished cut, I said, “let’s go shorter.” Once she was done cutting, I started dreading seeing Joe’s reaction. Of course, he was standing outside as I pulled up, and immediately came over to my vehicle. I got out, turned around, and he started smiling. “I LOVE it!” I sure never expected that reaction from him. Sooo, are you ready to see my new haircut?

It sure is SHORT!!!

I saw this outfit online, and I loved the color combination. I don’t think that I’ve ever paired the dusty rose and taupe together before, but I definitely will again. This long v-neck duster has a relaxed fit (aka it runs big) and I am wearing a medium. However, I feel like the duster is too big on me, so a small one might have been the better choice.

I do like the length and the dramatic style of the duster. It is long-sleeved but light enough to be worn all spring.

The taupe ribbed mock neck shell is a gorgeous color. I’ve never been a fan of this color for me, but pairing it with the dusty rose is brilliant. The shell fits very nicely and doesn’t show every bump that I have. It is a good weight and it feels very luxurious when you are wearing it. I ordered a size large because I was afraid that it would be too tight. The only con that I have with the shell is that it shows my arm cleavage, but since I wouldn’t wear it without a cardigan or jacket, that isn’t a deal-breaker for me.

I thought that my Rose Quartz necklace from Kendra Scott matched this outfit perfectly! I also added my Rylan earrings, and the gold vermeil chain and cross pendant that I wear daily.

I really, really like these double strap espadrilles. They are very comfortable even though they have a 3 1/2 wedge heel. They come in two colors, but I chose the neutral color since it would go with almost anything. This is a pair that you will want to check out, especially since they are so reasonably priced. I am wearing my usual size 9, and they fit me perfectly!

Oh, how I wish that these jeans were still in stock for all of you. I love this cropped white pair of jeans, and I love the distressed hemline. I’ll link to them just in case they restock them. But, I’ll also see if I can find some similar ones for you.

Since I don’t have a photographer in Abingdon yet, this is how I have been taking my photos. I set my cellphone on a tripod, and then I connect this Bluetooth wireless clicker to my phone. This is actually a great thing for everyone to have. Think of how cool it would be to take on vacation, for photos with friends, at dinners, holidays, etc. For years, I was never in our family photos because I was behind the camera. No more!!! This makes it easy and fun!

I exported the list to my new email provider, so some of the emails might have gone to spam or junk folders. You will need to move the email to your inbox so that they will not go to spam in the future.
