A MONOCHROMATIC OUTFIT FOR WOMEN OVER 50 THAT IS MODERN

It is Friday, and we have all survived the change in time. Whenever we have a time change, Joe always asks, “but what time is it in the old time?” Why does it matter since we aren’t in the “old” time anymore? That is how I sometimes feel about fashion. We have got to wrap our heads around what is modern and stylish NOW and quit thinking about what was trending in the past. So, today, we are taking a look at a monochromatic outfit that is modern, and one that anyone can wear, including us ladies over 50.

A monochromatic outfit is simple, easy to put together, and it is a classic style. Today, I used the same formula of staying in the color family with one color, but I modernized the look by using a trending pair of jeans. Before you comment that you don’t like wide-leg jeans, keep an open mind about the wide-leg trend. But, if wide-leg jeans don’t fit your body type, then do the same thing with straight-leg, bootcut, or skinny jeans.

This funnel neck dark gray sweater is very cozy and thick. The neckline is so unique and different, and a great alternative to a turtleneck. All of you who struggle wearing turtlenecks because they are tight and constricting might like this neckline instead. The sweater comes in a lot of colors, and I really love the ivory one for wearing with leggings. I chose dark gray to wear with these jeans, but the ivory would have looked great too. I’m wearing a medium, and it fits great.

The Byzantine cross necklace is one of my favorite pieces of jewelry. The cross has a vintage look and is comprised of hand-cut Robles wood from the Philippines, this cross was inspired by the story of Empress Helena, Emperor Constantine’s mother, who, it is written, discovered pieces of Jesus’ cross.

I don’t guess it matters if you like these wide-leg pants or not since they are sold out. 😢 The gray wash color was what I was looking for, so I’ll see if I can find that is different styles of legs.

For a warm and edgy look, I added a faux-leather jacket with a removable hood. This faux-leather jacket is fun, edgy, stylish, and modern looking. It is also versatile since it can be dressed up or down, and you’ll find yourself reaching for it repeatedly.

I’m wearing a large jacket, and even with the sweater underneath, it is still a great fit.
