A Festive Christmas Sweater Without a Snowman or Santa
Now that Thanksgiving is over, we can shift our focus to Christmas. In Tuesday’s post, I showed a lot of full-on Christmas attire with reindeer, snowmen, Santas, elves, etc. I’m one of those people who used to be decked out in head-to-toe Christmas clothing for the entire month of December. I loved wearing Christmas cardigans and sweaters, and I even painted myself a few Christmas sweatshirts. However, while I still love to wear festive Christmas sweaters, I thought I would show you a way to look festive without wearing a snowman on your chest.
I thought you might enjoy a few of my 2016 Christmas looks. Lol! My style sure has changed over the years!!!
I still love the look of the Poinsettia sweater!
This is one of my handpainted sweatshirts I did when the kids were young.
When I saw this Mrs. Claus Sweater/Dress at Walmart, I knew Joe would get a huge kick out of seeing me wearing it. I was right!!! Lol!
This Christmas outfit still manages to look festive even though there are no snowmen or Santas. The great thing about wearing something with a snowflake or a snowman, or even a deer is that you can wear that for the entire winter season without it being considered Christmas clothing.
This Fa la la crewneck sweater has just enough Christmas spirit to look festive but not go over the top. I love this understated sweater with muted-looking letters; it is soft and comfortable and great for wearing with jeans. I’m wearing a medium, and it fits me perfectly.
The letters are slightly raised on the sweater and have a tiny bit of metallic thread running through them. Of course, this sweater has sold out. That is the bad thing about anything that is holiday themed, it sells out quickly. I’m going to find some similar ones, and if you like any of them, don’t dilly-dally, or they’ll be gone!
I’m wearing the same black corduroy jeans I wore in Monday’s post, but this sweater would also look great with jeans, khakis, or even a skirt. The Satin Crystal Embellished Pink Heels and the Quilted Leather Clutch elevates this look. You could wear this outfit to a holiday party or kick off the heels and celebrate at home. The heels run true to size; I’m wearing my usual size 9. I also have these heels in black, and they are drop-dead gorgeous. The handbag is already sold out, but the Satin Clutch I carried with the Cheetah print sweater on Monday would look just as good.
I like wearing non-traditional colors for the holidays. Hot pink is not a color I normally associate with Christmas, but this gorgeous pink two-button coat looks fabulous with the Fa la la sweater and heels. My daughter came in for Thanksgiving, and I thought I was losing this coat. She ended up taking a coat that I had gotten last year in this same color, so thankfully, this one stayed in my closet. I’m wearing a size medium, and it fits me perfectly.

I love the FaLaLa sweater! It is so cute? You never see painted tshirts and sweatshirts any more…. Has this fallen out of fashion?!
Your style seems to have become more sophisticated over the years. What do you attribute that to? Your blog was one of the first I began following when I retired from teaching. I hope my style has evolved as well.
Love the pink coat and heels; so festive!
Love the hand-painted nativity top!
I absolutely love this outfit from head to toe! I love pink and think it is extra gorgeous for Christmas instead of the traditional colors. Really enjoy your fashion.
I love your Fa la la Sweater, Tania!
Is there a link for the fa la la sweater?
I love the fa la la sweater with the pink pumps!! So festive!!
That beautiful pink is your color! I just love it!
I love that pink coat!!
Tania…you look soooo pretty! I love your outfit.
love the coat especially the color. the sweater is so cute.
Love the sweater, darn sold out!
Great outfit! The coat is beautiful.
Love the falala sweater! I think you are getting better with age!
Thanks for sharing the pics from Christmases past .. you were beautiful then & beautiful now! And what an adorable Mrs. Clause – no wonder your Joe loved you in it. The FaLaLa outfit was a winner & the shoes & coat simply outstanding!
Love the heels!
Your pink high heels are awesome! They are calling my name too.You are the perfect foot model. I have 2 pair of shoes I found on your Website! Too bad the FaLaLa sweater sold out.
I can shop my closet . Thank you Tania for all your ideas!
Super cute holiday outfit!
Love the shoes. The rest I’ll pass.
I absolutely love this outfit on you, festive but not at all tacky! And I would never have thought to wear it with pink heels but the look is perfect! Kudos and happy holidays!
Those fuchsia shoes are beautiful!
I love all of the looks! Old and new. Pink is definitely a great color on you. About those deer though …..
Love the hand painted sweatshirt. I still have sticker from that company. I would wear it every day to proclaim the birth of Jesus. Thanks Tania!
Those shoes !!!!! Sad that they are out of stock 🙁
Love the sweater!
Really cute sweater! I struggle with spending a lot of money on seasonal items, since cost per wear is so limited, but it’s fun to have a little somethin’ somethin’ ! Thx for shopping for us!!
I love the poinsettia sweater! Red is my favorite color and I rarely see things in this shade except on Christmas stuff. 🎄
Deer visitors-what a beautiful sight!
Cute sweaters too!
What a great festive sweater! I am wearing a pink sweatshirt today that says Sleigh Bells Bling, which I wear all winter, with brown corduroy pants. Larry & I are deer hunters and have decided that the deer have watches & calendars because they sure know how to not let themselves be seen during normal hunting hours. The deer in populated areas do know that they are safe. If you really want them to keep coming around, sprinkle out some flavored deer corn for them to eat.
LOVE LOVE the bright pink heels and the coat! So festive and happy!
I love that coat, and pink is my color – I’m 73, and I must’ve been pink-deprived as a girl, because I can’t get enough now! I like that length too. Most of the wool coats I’ve seen in my price range are just knee length, and I like one a little longer when I wear my “funeral” dress.
The fa la la la sweater is what I’d look for or a snowflake one that can be dressed up.
Loved your homemade one so fun and filled with memories.
love that poinsettia sweater! Still looks great!!
Your sweaters that don’t “scream” Christmas are awesome! I love the holidays too, but don’t want to look like an elf, lol!! Thanks for the options😊
I too wore lots of Christmas sweaters, but not so much now. really like the sweater you are wearing today.
I love the Manger sweatshirt! 💗
LOVE the FA LA LA top!!! Sure wish it was still in stock! Your posts are always a refreshing way to begin or end the day!!
Love the pink coat and heels. So festive but unexpected at the same time!
oh these lovely sweaters….I choose the Polar Bear Mock Neck sweater from Loft as I could wear it all winter. Sadly it does not come in my size.
Love the hot pink. It’s a nice change from red during the holidays.
I love the falala sweater. Too bad it sold out. I bought the black cords you are wearing along with the winter white ones. Love that pink coat. I love bright colored coats in winter. Great post!!!
Wonderful Christmas selections!!
I love to dress festive!
Tania,
I love this outfit! I had my eye on that sweater, but didn’t order in time. Boo. I love the look of those cords also. Somehow I missed the original post you wore them in. Glad I checked them out.
Have a great weekend!
Cute sweater! I love the subtle wording.
Cute sweater! Wish I could still wear heels😕 My feet have become very finicky.
Love Love Love the muted sweater!!! I don’t ever wear pointed toe high heels, they just aren’t comfortable on me! They look beautiful though.
Love the FaLaLa sweater. Bummed it sold out so quickly.
I love holiday clothing ugly sweaters and all!
LOVE the Fa La La sweater!!!
The Falala sweater, the pink coat and those pink heels!! Love it all!
You have inspired me to consider wearing the bold pink. It looks wonderful on you! The coat accents your base layering pieces so nicely and we must not forget the pink shoes, all amazing on you! Most importantly, thanks for sharing The Word.
I love the pink shoes and coat; pink is a good color on you.
Love the pink shoes!!!
I appreciate the many hours you put into your presentations but I must say that I much prefer when you present photos of you styling different outfits rather than just picture after picture of clothing.
Thank you for all you do.
P.S. Love those bright pink heels!
What a gorgeous and elegant outfit. So sad the sweater is sold out – the company could have sold a thousand more! The shoes are so you. I wish I could wear those heels. I am wearing the hot pink long gown to a gala this holiday – I love the color you. By the way, your look now is younger than the earlier photos. Hair color so flattering.
Beautiful sweater, Thank you for helping us women over 50 with your stylish, yet comfortable dressing tips.
I live the pink coat on you. I am going to have to get the Falala sweater. Hope you and your family have a happy holiday.
I love the FA LA LA LA top and the gorgeous pink coat. Another great post!
Love the pink coat! I’m always on the lookout for cute holiday sweaters.
Thank you for all the work you do in putting the blog together. Loving the sweater, with the black cords. You have given me inspiration of what outfits to put together and actually wear for this month. Have a blessed week!
I like the Christmas sweaters with just words on them. Normally, I don’t do holiday themed clothing, but I would wear one of these sweaters.
I love hot pink and thanx for making it a color to wear during Christmas! The pink embellished heels are gorgeous.
That’s a super cute outfit and I would definitely wear that! I love Christmas and the real meaning behind it, but I just don’t wear all the decorative snowmen, Santa, etc. clothing.
Tania-thanks so much for your blog. It helps me to know what to wear and what accessories to wear with the outfits! You have made me more aware of what I am wearing & I feel more put together!! Thanks a bunch!!! Love the sweater & coat today!!!
great ideas!
Tania, I look forward to your posts. I have found stores to shop at that I didn’t know existed until you posted about them! So thank you! You look fabulous and 50 is not OLD!!! 🙂
I love the bright pink coat. If I were your daughter, I would have taken it back with me. Ha!
I love the poinsettia sweater! Being a Floridian, most of these aren’t options for our December 70’s and 80’s days😕. A festive blouse or cute holiday tee is about all we can do down here! That’s the price we have to pay for not shoveling snow all winter😂
Would you please do a post that features winter boots. Those of us living in the upper Midwest need practical footwear, but I’m tired of looking like a lumber jack or that I’m going out to build a snowman. Heels are not an option!
I love following your blog! You have the best taste, are beautiful, and so, so funny. These are wonderful Christmas/winter sweaters.
Beautiful sweaters from the past and the present. You did an awesome job on the manger seen sweatshirt you made when your kids were young.
All pretty sweaters. Nice to see pretty Christmas sweaters rather than a post of funny tacky sweaters. I love the old one you pulled out of the painted sweat top. You could make those and sell yourself!
Love the shoes and the Falalala!!
I love hot pink but I’m a red girl for Christmas! It’s my favorite color anyhow….so it’s a go to more so at Christmas.
I’m loving the hot pink shoes and coat!
I love the FaLaLa sweater as it can be worn to work, house parties and running (Christmas) errands
I love the fa la la sweater.
