Gray Cashmere TurtleneckI don’t know if it is all of the testosterone that men have running through their veins, but have you noticed how they all seem to be very sure of themselves? Women tend to second guess themselves and are way more insecure than men, or at least I think that is the case. I know that Joe has enough confidence running through his system for both of us. Take the incident that happened the other day….
Cashmere Turtleneck in GrayYears ago, I used to wear readers so that I could see up close. I know you are going to find this hard to believe, but I wanted fancy readers, and I had them in multiple colors. I found a company called Jimmy Crystal in New York that had readers with Swarovski crystals on them. I haven’t worn readers in years, but I still have 15-20 pairs of them lying around the house. Joe has always borrowed my glasses whenever we went out to dinner, and he has some of my glasses in his truck. The other day he went to the bank, and the young lady kept giving him the eye. Being a cocky male, he was sure that she was checking him out and thought he was cute. Once he left and got back in his truck, he looked in the mirror and noticed that he as wearing a pair of my glasses. I am showing you the glasses that he was wearing so you can decide for yourself what the girl was thinking. sparkly glasses I am still laughing at him. ? But, the best part is, he is laughing too. Lol!
Cashmere and PearlsI like to splurge once a year on a cashmere sweater. I love having beautiful things, but I can quickly get bored when I have something for years. So, I will pick a solid color or a classic style if I am going to splurge. You can’t go wrong with this pale gray color, and I like how the turtleneck is not tight. I hate tight turtlenecks that feel like they are choking me, I will continuously tug at them. If you are paying a lot for an item, you want to make sure that you can wear it in multiple ways. So, I decided to take this top and show you a couple of different looks. For sizing purposes, I am wearing a large. (PS: all the links will be at the bottom of the post)
Cashmere Turtleneck and Long CardiganAdding this gray Ombre animal print cardigan to the turtleneck is a great way to make you look thinner. The cardigan brings your eye inward toward the middle, and that creates the illusion of being slimmer. I need all of the help in that department that I can get. For those of you who have been hesitant to wear animal print because it is too bold, you will like the subtle muted print on this sweater. For sizing purposes, I am wearing a large.
Gray Cashmere Turtleneck and CardiganI kept the same skinny jeans on for all of the different style looks. That way, you can see how simply changing ONE item can make a huge difference in the overall look. I wear these Kut From The Kloth Diana jeans all of the time. They fit me great, and they have just enough give to them, but not so much that they look baggy. They run true to size, and I am wearing my usual size 10.
Gray CardiganI haven’t mentioned my jewelry yet. I am wearing a gorgeous Pearl necklace with a decorative clasp called the Brindy. The clasp is antiqued with crystals, and it looks great worn to the side. The Torilyn bracelet features seven rows of pearls and has a magnetic clasp. It is currently sold out, so keep an eye out for it to come back in stock. The Shalia pearl studs earrings are a go-to for me. These are oversized, and they make a great statement. These can be worn with anything, from a casual style to dressy.
Red Blazer with Cashmere TurtleneckSince the Holiday season is here, I thought that adding a red blazer to the outfit would make it festive. This is simple yet elegant, and you could wear this to a casual Christmas party.
Red Blazer and Gray CashmereMy black ankle boots are old, but I think they will last me the rest of this year. I like the pointed-toe style and the higher heel. Anytime that you wear a pointed toe shoe, it will help to elongate your legs. Longer-looking legs make you appear thinner. As you can tell, I am always looking for ways to appear thinner. 1. I would love to win a $50 Talbot’s gift card to shop for some of the beautiful items you have been styling!

  2. My husband too wears my old readers…hot pink bright blue and red. He answered the door in the hot pink ones and wondered why the delivery guy looked at him kinda funny. I like the new format too! I don’t have an instagram acct. I guess I need to get with it.

I like the new format – it looks great! And I love when you show multiple ways to wear an item. The story about Joe was hilarious! I bet he’s fun to be around. As for my gift wish, Amazon gift cards always work for me. I have several books, movies and music on my wish list.

Hope you and your family have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Bigger isn’t always better….I am unable to view the full length pictures on my iPad without scrolling vertically. And take this for what it’s worth, but I am a stickler for backgrounds in photography and I find the scrollwork wall hanging in your pictures distracting. It looks like you have something growing from your shoulder. But the brick wall is on point. It adds texture without being busy. Good luck with your experimenting. Change always us to grow!

PS. if I was lucky enough to win something, I would love a Plunder GC

Me too. Not a problem and certainly better than receiving none! It would hurt to miss a “Tanya” day ♥️

I love this story! I agree that men seem so much more confident. My husband wears my old readers too! I noticed he has my old red pair in his work bag!??

I like your new format. Everything looks great.

I have tried a couple of different cashmere sweaters, and they always itch. Have you ever had that problem? Have you found one that does not itch?

Wishing you and your family a Happy Thanksgiving and a Merry Christmas.

  6. I just read your old blog on My Neckglasses! I can’t wait to order some. I would like an Amazon gift card too!

  7. Donna Cress says:

I really like the new format and the cardigan! My “Christmas Gift Wish” would have to be an Amazon gift card.
